LEGO Harry Potter Collection contains two complete games—LEGO Harry Potter: Years 1–4 and LEGO Harry Potter: Years 5–7—plus the Character Pack and Spell Pack DLC. Together, the games cover all seven story years and adapt all eight Harry Potter films.
This guide breaks down every included character and spell, explains how the two games divide the films, and separates the 2024 remastered editions from the PS4 listing and any unconfirmed platform availability.

What the LEGO Harry Potter Collection includes
Warner Bros. Games’ official support page identifies the bundle as two separate games, not one newly built campaign. You receive LEGO Harry Potter: Years 1–4, LEGO Harry Potter: Years 5–7, and both previously released DLC packs. The support description is available at WB Games Support.
| Included component | What it covers | What to expect |
|---|---|---|
| LEGO Harry Potter: Years 1–4 | Story years one through four | The first four school years and their corresponding films |
| LEGO Harry Potter: Years 5–7 | Story years five through seven | The final four films, including both parts of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows |
| Character Pack | Ten additional playable characters | Names listed in the publisher’s launch announcement |
| Spell Pack | Five additional spells | Cantis, Densaugeo, Ducklifors, Melofors and Tentaclifors |
The two games together represent the complete seven-year story. Because the final book was adapted as two films, seven story years correspond to eight movies rather than seven.

Game one: LEGO Harry Potter: Years 1–4
The first game covers Harry’s first four years at Hogwarts. Its “Years 1–4” label refers to story progression, not a shortened selection of levels or a trial section. It is one of the two full games included in the collection.
The collection does not replace this campaign with a condensed recap. Instead, the first title remains its own game within the compilation, with its original four-year scope presented as part of the remastered package on newer systems.
Game two: LEGO Harry Potter: Years 5–7
LEGO Harry Potter: Years 5–7 is the second complete game. It continues from the fourth year through Harry’s seventh year and handles the final four films. The seventh story is represented by Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1 and Part 2, which is why the film count reaches eight.

Character Pack: all ten included characters
The Character Pack is included in the collection. Warner Bros. Games’ launch announcement lists ten additions:
- Godric Gryffindor
- Harry (Yule Ball)
- Helga Hufflepuff
- Lockhart (Straightjacket)
- Luna (Lion Head)
- Peeves
- Hermione (Pink Dress)
- Ron Weasley (Ghoul)
- Rowena Ravenclaw
- Salazar Slytherin
These are alternate outfits, historical figures, house founders and other character variants rather than a separate story campaign. The publisher’s wording identifies the pack as previously released DLC that is bundled with the collection; it does not describe an additional movie chapter or new level set.
Spell Pack: all five included spells
The second included DLC pack adds five spells:
- Cantis
- Densaugeo
- Ducklifors
- Melofors
- Tentaclifors
Like the Character Pack, the Spell Pack is part of the collection’s stated contents. The announcement names the spells but does not assign them to particular levels, characters or platforms, so descriptions that promise a specific mission or universal gameplay effect go beyond the published information.
How the seven years cover eight films
The year labels can look inconsistent until the film structure is mapped out. The publisher says the two games adapt all eight Harry Potter films. Years 1–4 account for the first four films, while Years 5–7 cover the final four. The extra film comes from splitting Deathly Hallows into Part 1 and Part 2.

- Flawless 4K@60Hz Video with HDMI: Delivers exceptional clarity and smoothness with its 4K@60Hz HDMI port, making it ideal for high-definition presentations and entertainment. (Note: Only the HDMI port supports video projection; the USB-C port is for data transfer only.)
- Double Up on Efficiency: The two USB-A 3.0 ports and a USB-C port support a fast 5Gbps data rate, significantly boosting your transfer speeds and improving productivity.
- Fast and Reliable 85W Charging: Offers high-capacity, speedy charging for laptops up to 85W, so you spend less time tethered to an outlet and more time being productive.

| Story segment | Film coverage | Game in the collection |
|---|---|---|
| Years 1–4 | Films 1–4 | LEGO Harry Potter: Years 1–4 |
| Years 5–7 | Films 5–8, with Deathly Hallows split into two films | LEGO Harry Potter: Years 5–7 |
Consequently, “Years 1–7” describes the seven in-universe school years, while “all eight films” describes the number of movies adapted. Neither statement excludes content from the other; they describe different ways of counting the same complete story.
Which editions and platforms are available?
Warner Bros. Games announced a remastered digital release for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC via Steam in October 2024. The announcement’s platform and remaster details are published at Warner Bros. Games. Platform stores can show different editions, dates and formats by country, so check the store serving your account before purchasing.
| Platform or listing | What the official information establishes | Important qualification |
|---|---|---|
| PlayStation 5 | Included in the 2024 remastered digital announcement; the official PlayStation page lists a PS5 edition | Confirm the current regional store page and whether you are selecting the PS5 or PS4 SKU |
| Xbox Series X|S | Included in the remastered announcement; the Xbox Store lists an Xbox Series X|S edition with an October 8, 2024 release date | The date is the store’s listed release date; regional storefront details can differ |
| PC via Steam | Named as a platform for the October 2024 remaster | Verify the current Steam listing, system requirements and regional availability |
| PlayStation 4 | The official US PlayStation page lists both PS5 and PS4 editions | The launch announcement specifically describes the newer remaster for PS5, Series X|S and Steam; do not assume every remaster feature applies identically to PS4 |
| Nintendo Switch 2 | The WB Games collection page has a heading for an official Nintendo Switch 2 announcement trailer | A heading alone does not establish a release date or current availability |
The official PlayStation page is PlayStation’s US listing, and the Xbox listing is the Xbox Store page. Those pages are useful for checking the edition attached to your account and region.

For the 2024 release, Warner Bros. Games advertises 60 frames per second, native 4K resolution, haptic feedback and high-resolution shadow maps. These are feature claims from the remaster announcement, not independent test results.

- Haptic feedback: This is listed among the remaster features, most directly relevant to supported controllers and hardware.
- High-resolution shadow maps: The announcement cites upgraded shadow-map quality as part of the visual presentation.
Do not read the feature list as a promise that every platform renders identically. Hardware, display settings, controller support and edition differences can affect how a feature is delivered. The safest interpretation is that these are the capabilities Warner Bros. Games associates with the newer PS5, Xbox Series X|S and Steam release.
Digital, physical and regional availability
The October 2024 launch announcement characterizes the PS5, Xbox Series X|S and Steam remaster as a digital release. That does not prove that every country has the same purchase options, nor does it establish a universal physical-disc SKU.
If you specifically want a disc, cartridge or boxed edition, inspect the retailer and platform listing for your country and confirm the exact product name. A store page for an older edition should not be treated as evidence that it contains the 2024 remaster or both DLC packs unless the listing says so.
A practical buying checklist
- Identify your hardware. Choose the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Steam PC or PS4 listing that matches the system on which you intend to play.
- Read the edition name. Make sure the listing says LEGO Harry Potter Collection and identifies the correct generation. Do not rely on a thumbnail or an abbreviated retailer title.
- Confirm the two campaigns. The package should identify both Years 1–4 and Years 5–7.
- Check the DLC wording. The complete collection includes the Character Pack and Spell Pack. If a listing separates DLC as optional purchases, verify whether you are viewing an individual game rather than the collection.
- Check your region and format. Prices, taxes, language options, upgrade policies and physical availability can vary by storefront and country.
- Verify current platform support. Store pages can change after launch, so use the official platform page immediately before purchase.
Common points of confusion
Is this one game or two?
It is a collection containing two full games. “Years 1–7” is the combined story span, not the title of a single campaign replacing the original two-game structure.
Best Value
- 5-in-1 Connectivity: Equipped with a 4K HDMI port, a 5 Gbps USB-C data port, two 5 Gbps USB-A ports, and a USB C 100W PD-IN port. Note: The USB C 100W PD-IN port supports only charging and does not support data transfer devices such as headphones or speakers.
- Powerful Pass-Through Charging: Supports up to 85W pass-through charging so you can power up your laptop while you use the hub. Note: Pass-through charging requires a charger (not included). Note: To achieve full power for iPad, we recommend using a 45W wall charger.
- Transfer Files in Seconds: Move files to and from your laptop at speeds of up to 5 Gbps via the USB-C and USB-A data ports. Note: The USB C 5Gbps Data port does not support video output.
- HD Display: Connect to the HDMI port to stream or mirror content to an external monitor in resolutions of up to 4K@30Hz. Note: The USB-C ports do not support video output.
- What You Get: Anker 332 USB-C Hub (5-in-1), welcome guide, our worry-free 18-month warranty, and friendly customer service.
Does seven years mean only seven movies?
No. The games adapt eight films because Deathly Hallows was released as two parts.
Are the ten characters and five spells included?
Yes. WB Games’ support information and launch announcement identify both DLC packs as included, with ten named characters and five named spells.
Does every platform receive the same remaster features?
The publisher lists 60 FPS, native 4K, haptic feedback and high-resolution shadow maps for the remastered release, but the announcement does not promise identical implementation across every edition. Check the platform-specific listing.

Outbyte PC Repair FREERepair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Outbyte Driver Updater FREEFix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Is there a confirmed Nintendo Switch 2 release date?
The WB Games collection page includes a heading for a Switch 2 announcement trailer, but that heading by itself does not establish a release date or current availability. Treat any retailer claim as unconfirmed until an official store page provides the details.
Where to verify the package contents
For the definitive bundle description, consult WB Games Support. For the remaster’s launch platforms and feature claims, use the Warner Bros. Games announcement. The official PlayStation page shows the PS5 and PS4 listings for the US storefront, while the Xbox Store page identifies the Series X|S edition and its listed release date. Warner Bros. Games also maintains the broader collection page.
Bottom line
The collection is the complete LEGO Harry Potter game package: Years 1–4, Years 5–7, the ten-character Character Pack and the five-spell Spell Pack. The two campaigns cover seven story years and all eight films. The 2024 remaster was announced digitally for PS5, Xbox Series X|S and Steam, while the official PlayStation listing also shows PS4. Because platform editions and regional formats can differ, verify the exact store listing before you buy.
