Cattle Country’s Bandits & Bounties update adds bounty hunting and bandit camps, new crafting equipment and customization options, a seasonal fishing destination, quality-of-life changes, and a selection of bug fixes. Playtonic Games’ 24 August 2026 announcement says the update is available on Steam; it does not confirm current availability on other platforms.
How bounty hunting and bandit camps work
Wanted Posters at the Sheriff’s building let players accept a bounty, track the wanted bandit in the wilderness, and return to Sheriff Tom to collect a reward. Bandit camps can also appear during overworld exploration, where players may be able to claim plunder. Playtonic Games’ announcement describes both additions.

New crafting equipment and character options
Three new stations or tools
- Animal Trap: Adds another way to gather animal resources.
- Rock Tumbler: Breaks down rocks into useful materials and may reveal rare gems.
- Tailoring Table: Lets players craft clothes and hats.
More ways to customize a character
The update adds outfits, hats, and head accessories, and makes red hair available as a character customization option.
A fishing spot with fish from every season
On Tuesdays and Saturdays, players can take a boat from the docks to a new fishing spot. Fish from every season can be caught there. The announcement also says fishing becomes more forgiving while a fishing buff is active.

Quality-of-life changes and selected fixes
Everyday improvements
- Expanded dialogue for NPCs.
- Inventory counts can display beyond 9,999.
- Birds in trees now sway along with the branches.
Examples of bugs addressed
Playtonic Games lists fixes for controller problems during cooking and crafting; incorrect skin-color display after moving between new-game creation and loading a save; a crash in French during Dr. Andrew’s ninth heart scene; animal resources failing to appear after extensive butchering; winter invitation mail for scenes that were unavailable; and shed, coop, or barn upgrade items being removed incorrectly. The announcement notes that these are selected examples, alongside additional fixes and improvements.

The 24 August 2026 announcement says to get the update on Steam and says details for other platforms would be announced later. It does not establish whether versions beyond Steam have since launched. The official Steam listing for Cattle Country identifies the game and surfaces the announcement.
