A Carnival cruise fare covers your stateroom, many onboard shows and activities, youth programs, meals at selected venues, and a limited set of non-bottled drinks. Specialty dining, most alcoholic drinks, internet, shore excursions, gratuities, and many other purchases cost extra. Exact offerings and charges vary by ship, venue, and sailing, so check the details for your booking in Carnival’s Cruise Manager.
What does a Carnival cruise fare include?
Carnival lists these items as included in the fare, subject to ship and venue availability:

- A stateroom with standard room features.
- Production shows and other entertainment, plus lounges with live music.
- Access to the fitness center, pools, hot tubs, and waterslides.
- Youth programs for children and teens ages 2–17.
- Meals in the Main Dining Room and/or Lido Restaurant, along with pizza, soft-serve ice cream, and frozen yogurt.
- Some casual dining options on select ships.

Gratuities and service charges
Carnival says team-member gratuities are not included in the cruise price. Its onboard information surfaced recommended gratuities of $17 per person per day for standard staterooms and $19 per person per day for suites; the excerpt did not state a publication year. Treat these as figures to verify, not guaranteed rates for a future sailing. Carnival’s beverage-package and service-gratuity information is a place to check current terms.
