Yes—Alexa can retain travel-related questions and answers as part of your Alexa interaction history. If you use Alexa+ travel planning, the service may also use trip dates, interests, preferred activities, accommodation preferences, and itinerary details that you provide. However, Amazon does not document a universal, separate “travel history” log for every Alexa account.
Review travel conversations in the Alexa app at More > Alexa Privacy > Review Alexa History, or through Amazon’s Alexa Privacy Settings website. You can delete selected chats and set automatic deletion preferences, but deleting recordings does not guarantee that every related record, linked-service copy, or third-party skill record disappears.

What Alexa may store about your travel questions
Alexa’s records are organized around interactions and account data, not necessarily around a travel category. Amazon defines an “Alexa Interaction” broadly as information connected with using Alexa and Alexa-enabled products. That includes voice and other inputs, Alexa’s responses, sensory data from devices, information received through third-party services and auxiliary products, and information supplied or received through the Alexa app.

Voice recordings, transcripts, and typed requests
Alexa history can contain the audio streamed to Amazon’s cloud, the text transcript of what Alexa understood, typed requests entered in the app, and Alexa’s response. Several related requests made close together may be grouped as one chat. A travel conversation could therefore include your initial destination question, follow-up questions about attractions, and requests to narrow the choices.
A chat is a presentation and deletion unit in the history interface; it is not evidence that Amazon maintains a separate itinerary database for every user.
Alexa+ travel-planning details
Amazon’s Alexa+ travel-planning help page describes creating and managing itineraries for trips of up to 14 days. During Early Access, availability is rolling out gradually and depends on the Alexa-enabled device and features available to your account.
When the feature is available and you use it, Alexa may ask for:
- Trip dates and destination details.
- Your interests and preferred activities.
- Accommodation preferences.
- Itinerary information you choose to share.
Alexa+ can use those details and preferences to make recommendations about attractions, hotels, restaurants, and activities. This is a feature-specific description, not a claim that every Alexa account has used travel planning or that every traveler has an itinerary stored by Alexa.
Linked email, calendars, and attachments
Linked services can add another layer of travel-related information. Amazon says that, when an account is linked to Alexa+, it stores email content such as contacts and upcoming events in the cloud. A booking confirmation, itinerary email, or calendar entry may therefore be relevant even if the original voice request is deleted.
Amazon also warns that information derived from attachments can remain in history or in items created from those attachments, including calendar events, lists, and reminders. Deleting a voice conversation is not the same as deleting the calendar event or document created from it.

Account, device, location, and shopping context
Amazon’s terms identify other account information that can be associated with Alexa use, including shopping lists, shopping history, information from third-party services, device information, and location information. If Sidewalk is enabled, Amazon says it uses the approximate location of compatible Alexa-enabled products and linked Ring devices.
These categories should not be interpreted as proof that Alexa keeps a complete, location-by-location log of every place you visit. They are broader account and device data that may provide context for services you use.
Information sent to skills
A third-party Alexa skill may receive content needed to answer a request. Amazon says this can include text transcripts, but skills do not receive your voice recordings. A skill developer may keep information separately under its own policies. Deleting a chat from Alexa history does not automatically delete data already retained by that developer.
Does Alexa have a dedicated travel-history log?
Not for all users, based on Amazon’s published descriptions. Travel questions can be part of ordinary Alexa interaction history and can be grouped into chats. Alexa+ travel planning can maintain itinerary-related information for that feature, subject to its Early Access rollout and supported-device requirements. Neither description establishes one universal “travel history” page containing every trip, destination, booking, or location associated with an account.
What you see depends on how you interacted with Alexa: a spoken question, an app entry, a linked email account, a calendar action, a skill, or an Alexa+ itinerary can each create different records in different systems.
How to review Alexa travel history in the app
Use the history screen to inspect what Alexa recorded or transcribed. The labels below reflect Amazon’s current Alexa app path; wording can vary slightly by app version, profile, or region.
- Open the Alexa app on your phone or tablet.
- Tap More.
- Choose Alexa Privacy.
- Tap Review Alexa History.
- Filter by a date range, device, or profile, or select an individual entry.
- Open a result to see the available audio, transcript, typed request, and Alexa response.
Search around the dates on which you planned the trip. A sequence of questions may appear as one chat rather than as separate rows. Look for destination names, hotel or restaurant requests, transportation questions, and follow-ups such as “What else is nearby?”

Reviewing history on the web
Amazon also provides the Alexa Privacy Settings website. Sign in with the Amazon account used by your Alexa devices, then open the Alexa history review area. The web interface is useful when you need to inspect a long date range or manage history from a computer rather than a phone.
Check every profile and device that may have been used for planning. A request made from a shared household device can be associated with the active voice profile or with the account configured on that device.
Review linked email and created items separately
If you connected email to Alexa+, go to More > Settings > Communication > Email my contacts in the Alexa app to see whether the account is linked. That control links or unlinks the service; it does not erase Alexa history or delete messages from the email provider.
After reviewing a travel chat, inspect any calendar events, reminders, lists, or other items Alexa created. Amazon’s deletion guidance says information derived from attachments and those created items can remain even after related interaction data is removed.
How to delete Alexa travel conversations
Delete a selected chat
- Open More > Alexa Privacy > Review Alexa History in the Alexa app, or use the Alexa Privacy Settings website.
- Set the date, device, or profile filter to locate the travel interaction.
- Select the chat containing the travel questions.
- Use the delete control and confirm.
Deleting a chat can remove the voice recordings, text transcripts, and typed requests associated with that chat from Amazon’s cloud. Amazon’s FAQ states: “When you delete Alexa voice recordings, text transcripts, and typed requests to Alexa associated with a chat, we will delete those items from Amazon’s cloud.”

Delete related records that are outside the chat
After deleting the conversation, separately remove anything you no longer want to keep:

- Calendar events or reminders created from an email or attachment.
- Travel lists, shopping lists, or notes created through Alexa.
- Linked email access, using More > Settings > Communication > Email my contacts.
- Data held by a third-party skill, using that skill developer’s account controls or privacy request process.
- Feedback or issue reports that included a transcript or other interaction details.
These actions are separate because the records can be stored in different systems or by different organizations.
Automatic deletion and voice-recording choices
Amazon documents several retention choices. They apply to Alexa voice recordings and related interaction history, not to every possible account, email, calendar, skill, or device record.

The three-month, 18-month, and 30-day periods are Amazon’s documented product settings and retention periods. They are not a promise that every travel-related record in every connected service follows the same schedule.
What happens when you choose not to save recordings?
With voice-recording storage turned off, Amazon says it deletes recordings after processing the request. It retains the transcript and typed requests for 30 days after the last interaction in that chat, then automatically deletes them.
The setting concerns voice recordings and associated Alexa history. It does not automatically erase a calendar event, email, attachment-derived item, skill-developer record, or other information stored outside Amazon’s cloud.

Amazon distinguishes deletion of chat recordings, transcripts, and typed requests from deletion of every item related to a request. Its guidance says attachments, information supplied through interactions, actions Alexa took, products searched for, and other information related to requests may remain. Feedback or issue reports can also preserve copies of transcripts and related information.
Third-party skills have separate control
A skill can receive request content, including text transcripts, to provide its service. Amazon says skills do not receive voice recordings, but a developer can retain the text or resulting account data separately. Removing the Alexa chat does not issue a deletion command to that developer.
Linked services keep their own copies
Unlinking email prevents or changes future access; it does not delete messages from the email provider. Likewise, deleting an Alexa request does not automatically remove a calendar event or reminder that was already created.
Deletion can affect personalization and Voice ID
Amazon says information may continue to be used for personalization while deletion is processing. It also warns that Voice ID may stop working if you opt out of saving recordings or delete recordings used to create Voice ID. If household members rely on Voice ID for personalized responses, check that behavior after changing retention settings.
Choosing the right privacy approach
Use manual deletion when you need targeted cleanup
Manual deletion is appropriate when you want to keep ordinary Alexa history but remove a specific trip, destination, or booking conversation. Filter by date, device, and profile, delete the relevant chat, then check created calendar entries, lists, and linked services.

Use three-month automatic deletion for a shorter routine window
This option limits how long ordinary Alexa history remains available without requiring you to remember each conversation. It still does not control third-party skill records, email content, or every account record, so treat it as an Alexa-history setting rather than a complete travel-data eraser.
Use 18-month deletion when convenience matters more
An 18-month window can preserve older conversations for continuity and personalization. The cost is a longer period during which those Alexa history items remain in Amazon’s cloud.
Choose no voice-recording storage when audio is the main concern
This setting addresses stored audio directly: Amazon says recordings are deleted after processing. It leaves transcripts and typed requests for the documented 30-day period and can reduce or disable Voice ID functionality. Choose it when avoiding retained audio is more important than voice-history convenience.
Manage connected services independently
If your concern is a booking email, calendar entry, or skill account, Alexa’s history controls are only one step. Unlink the service where appropriate and use the provider’s own deletion or privacy controls for data it stores.
A practical travel-privacy checklist
- Review More > Alexa Privacy > Review Alexa History before deleting anything, so you know which chats exist.
- Check both audio and transcript views; a typed request may exist without a voice recording.
- Inspect chats around the travel-planning dates because follow-up questions may be grouped together.
- Look for calendar events, reminders, lists, and attachment-derived items created from travel information.
- Review whether email is linked under More > Settings > Communication > Email my contacts.
- Identify any third-party skill used for flights, hotels, maps, restaurants, or itineraries and manage its data separately.
- Select a three-month or 18-month automatic deletion period, or turn off voice-recording storage, according to your priorities.
- After changing settings, verify whether Voice ID and other personalized features still work as expected.
- Allow for processing time; deletion may not be immediate.
What the available evidence does—and does not—show
Amazon’s published terms and help pages support the conclusion that travel questions can be retained as Alexa interactions and that Alexa+ travel planning can use details you provide. They do not establish one retention duration for all travel-related data, nor do they confirm a complete trip log for every Alexa user.
The safest way to understand your own account is to review Alexa history, inspect linked services and created items, and then apply the deletion controls to each system involved. Deleting a chat removes the specified Alexa interaction data from Amazon’s cloud, but privacy cleanup may require additional actions outside that chat.
