The Conjuring: Unspoken is a single-player, story-driven paranormal-investigation game set in The Conjuring universe. Netflix announced it for October 13, 2026, as a Netflix-exclusive release. You watch the main action on a television or computer browser and use a phone or tablet as the controller. Before starting, check the 18+ content warnings, make sure you have two compatible screens and an internet connection, and understand that some choices and discoveries can permanently change your route through the story.

What kind of game is The Conjuring: Unspoken?

Netflix describes The Conjuring: Unspoken as a narrative horror experience built around a paranormal investigation. The setting is the Red Lion Inn, where you investigate a haunting, collect clues and decide how the story develops through dialogue and action choices. It is not presented as a competitive multiplayer game or an offline console release; the official support information lists one player, online play only and cloud saves.

Investigation tools include an EMF reader, radio and infrared camera. These are part of the in-game investigation rather than accessories you must purchase. The game is designed to make observation and decisions central: you search locations, interact with objects, follow evidence and choose how to respond as events unfold.

Release, access and basic specifications

Netflix announced the game on October 8, 2026, with a stated release date of October 13, 2026. Availability can depend on your country and the devices supported for your Netflix account, so a date announced globally should not be treated as a guarantee that every region receives it simultaneously. Netflix identifies Warner Bros. Games as the developer and describes the title as exclusive to Netflix.

The support pages reviewed do not provide a model-by-model compatibility list, a complete regional rollout list or a separate hardware specification sheet. If the game does not appear on your television or browser, that absence may reflect device or regional support rather than a problem with your save.

How the two-screen setup works

The unusual part of the setup is that the television or computer browser shows the game while a phone or tablet supplies the controls. Treat the mobile device as a second screen for input, not as the primary place to watch the investigation.

Prepare the main display

  1. Open Netflix on a supported television or in a supported computer browser.
  2. Find The Conjuring: Unspoken in the Netflix game area or the title’s game listing.
  3. Start the game on the display you want to use for the investigation. The official platform description names televisions and computer browsers; it does not promise support for every TV operating system or browser version.

Connect the phone or tablet

  1. Use a phone or tablet as the control device when the game prompts you. Keep it charged and connected to the same reliable internet service you normally use for Netflix.
  2. Follow the on-screen pairing instructions. Netflix’s public information confirms the phone-or-tablet control model but does not publish a universal pairing procedure or list every supported mobile model.
  3. Keep the mobile screen available during play. Losing the control connection can interrupt input even if the main display remains visible.

Plan for an online session

Offline play is listed as unavailable, so begin only when the display, mobile controller and internet connection are stable. Cloud saves are listed as supported, which means progress is associated with the online game service rather than a local physical game card or disc. The sources do not state how long saves are retained or provide a manual save-management menu.

What you actually do during play

Investigate before choosing

Explore the Red Lion Inn and use the investigation equipment to identify clues. An EMF reader, radio and infrared camera each suggest a different way to examine the haunting, but Netflix’s public guide does not publish a complete puzzle solution or a fixed order for every tool. Read the scene, inspect available objects and use the tool the game makes relevant instead of treating every encounter as a combat sequence.

Make dialogue and action decisions

Netflix says the choices you make affect the game’s story. That means a response is not merely cosmetic: conversations and actions can alter what happens next. You may want to pause and consider the likely consequence before selecting an option, especially when the game signals that a decision is timed.

React to timed interactions

The official “How to play” guidance warns that some interactions are timed. Keep your attention on the main display while holding the phone or tablet ready. If an option appears with a countdown or limited response window, delaying to inspect another object may close that opportunity.

Recognize points of no return

Objects outlined in yellow are points of no return. Interacting with one can move the story past the current state, so search the surrounding area first if you want to find optional clues. Do not assume you can walk back and collect everything after activating a yellow-outlined object.

Look for optional secrets

Netflix’s guide says optional secrets add lore. They are not required to reach the main story, but they reward careful exploration. Check rooms and objects that are not on the most obvious route before crossing a marked point of no return.

Do you need to watch The Conjuring movies first?

No. Netflix says the films are not required to play The Conjuring: Unspoken. The game is intended to provide its own investigation and narrative context. Watching the films may add recognition when familiar characters or settings appear, but it is preparation for extra context, not a prerequisite for understanding the basic objective.

If you are sensitive to spoilers, decide whether you want to revisit the films before playing. Netflix’s announcement indicates that the game belongs to the established universe and may include familiar elements; the official material does not define a full chronology or explain which film events are referenced.

Content warnings and suitability

Netflix’s Help Center lists the game as 18+. Its warnings specifically include murder, blood, religious horror and child possession. Those subjects are material content considerations, not just a general “scary game” label.

  • Murder: scenes may involve killings or their aftermath.
  • Blood: expect graphic injury imagery rather than purely implied danger.
  • Religious horror: the supernatural threat uses religious themes and imagery.
  • Child possession: this is an explicit warning and may be especially distressing for some players.

The rating and warnings come from Netflix’s listings. They do not establish the exact frequency, duration or intensity of every scene, so viewers with specific triggers should use their own judgment and the platform’s available safety controls.

Troubleshooting before you start

The game is missing from Netflix

Confirm that October 13, 2026 has passed in your region and check whether the title is available for your Netflix location and device. Netflix’s public pages do not provide a complete country-by-country launch table, so a missing listing cannot be diagnosed from the release date alone.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

The phone or tablet will not control the game

Reopen the game on the main display, keep the mobile device online and repeat the pairing flow shown on screen. If the problem persists, verify that your mobile operating system and the television or browser are supported; Netflix has not published an exhaustive model list in the available information.

The session stops during play

Because offline play is not supported, a lost connection can interrupt the game. Stabilize the internet connection, return to the Netflix game listing and use the cloud save if the service offers a resume option. Do not assume that a disconnected session created a local save.

You advanced too soon

If you activated a yellow-outlined object before searching the area, the game may have passed a point of no return. Optional secrets and clues can be missed by design; look for an earlier cloud save or replay the sequence if the game exposes one. Netflix confirms the point-of-no-return behavior but does not document a universal rewind or chapter-select system.

Languages and accessibility expectations

Netflix lists English, French, German, Italian, Polish, Brazilian Portuguese, Spanish (Latin America) and Spanish (Spain/Castilian). The listing confirms language availability but does not specify, in the reviewed material, whether each language applies to spoken dialogue, subtitles, menus or all three. Check the in-game language menu and your Netflix profile settings for the exact combination available on your device.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

No separate accessibility feature list is provided in the official information reviewed. If you need options such as subtitle customization, reduced motion or contrast controls, inspect the game’s settings before committing to a long session rather than assuming that Netflix’s general platform controls cover every game element.

Who should play it?

  • Choose it if you want a solo, story-led supernatural investigation, enjoy making consequential narrative choices and have both a large display and a mobile device available.
  • Think twice if you need offline play, want local multiplayer, avoid the listed themes or expect a conventional controller-and-console setup.
  • Prepare carefully if you like finding every clue: timed interactions and yellow-outlined points of no return make exploration order important.

The central appeal is the combination of investigation and branching decisions, not a published score, competitive mode or hardware showcase. Netflix has not released an evidence-based playtime estimate, review score, sales figure or player-count statistic in the official information covered here, so those expectations should not be filled in with guesses.

Bottom line for first-time players

Approach The Conjuring: Unspoken as an online, single-player interactive horror story. Set up the television or computer browser first, keep a phone or tablet ready as the controller, explore before triggering yellow-outlined objects, and take timed choices seriously. You do not need to watch the films, but you do need to be comfortable with Netflix’s 18+ warnings for murder, blood, religious horror and child possession. If your region and devices support the game, that preparation covers the practical issues most likely to affect your first investigation.
