Before leaving for a Desert Mountain High School football game, confirm the current date, kickoff time, venue and ticket listing. Home games are connected with the campus at 12575 E. Via Linda, Scottsdale, Arizona 85259; away games are played at the opponent’s stadium. Bring a compliant clear bag, follow the district’s beverage and conduct rules, and plan on staying inside once admitted because re-entry is not allowed.
Confirm the event before you travel
A football listing is only useful if it is still current. Desert Mountain’s athletics calendar is exported, and the school warns that exported entries may not reflect recent changes. Use the school’s athletics page as the starting point, then verify the event through AZPreps365 or the latest instructions from the school and host venue.

What the published calendar shows
The varsity calendar snapshot lists Desert Mountain against Chaparral on October 16, 2026, at Chaparral High School. That date is now past, so it should not be treated as an upcoming event. It illustrates why you should check the current season listing rather than rely on an old calendar entry, saved screenshot or search result.
Home versus away location
Desert Mountain High School’s address is 12575 E. Via Linda, Scottsdale, AZ 85259. That is the school’s campus address, not a guarantee that every football game is played there. An away game takes place at the opponent’s venue. Read the venue name in the current event listing and use the host school’s directions for the final destination.

- 【Easy Cleaning】Incredibly simple to clean and quick due to its waterproof material and basic design. Simply use soap and water to wipe up spills and filth.
For an away game, the host school controls practical details such as parking, entrances and any event-specific restrictions. The available school and district information does not establish a particular parking lot, gate, arrival route or bag-size limit. Do not assume that the home-school arrangement applies at an opponent’s stadium.
A reliable verification sequence
- Open the current Desert Mountain athletics or varsity-football schedule.
- Record the opponent, date, kickoff time and venue exactly as displayed.
- Check AZPreps365 for a current confirmation, because the school specifically directs attendees there when exported calendar information may be stale.
- Open the host school’s event information for away games and check its directions, parking instructions and entrance rules.
- Check the ticket listing on the school athletics page immediately before leaving. Confirm that tickets are available for the correct game and note the current price shown there.
- Save the venue address and ticket confirmation on your phone, and allow extra travel time if the game is at another campus.
Tickets and student activity passes
The Desert Mountain athletics page provides a link for purchasing football tickets. The retrieved page text does not state a ticket price, so do not rely on a quoted amount from an old post or assume that a prior season’s price still applies. Use the current event listing for price, availability and any game-specific instructions.
| Attendee | What the published rules require |
|---|---|
| High school student with an eligible activity pass | The school says high school student activity passes are for high school students. |
| Middle-school or elementary-school student | Buy an individual ticket and attend with a parent or guardian. |
| Student in eighth grade or younger | Bring student identification, attend with a parent or guardian, and sit in the stands. |
| Adult or other attendee | Use the current ticket listing and follow the venue’s entry and conduct rules. |
The activity-pass limitation and the individual-ticket requirement are separate points. A younger student should not be turned away from buying a ticket on the assumption that a high-school activity pass covers them. If a family includes students in different grades, check each person’s admission requirement before arriving.

What you can bring
Use a clear bag
Scottsdale Unified School District game-day guidance says “CLEAR BAGS ONLY.” Bring a transparent bag rather than an opaque backpack, purse or drawstring bag. The published guidance reviewed here does not state a maximum size and does not approve a particular bag model. If you are buying a bag for the game, choose a clear design, then check the current event instructions for any dimensions or additional restrictions before you go.
A clear bag is a compliance measure, not a guarantee of entry by itself. Venue staff may inspect it, and the host school may publish stricter event instructions for an away game. Carry only what you need so inspection is quick.

Water and prohibited refreshments
The district permits sealed plastic water bottles and empty insulated water bottles. It prohibits outside food and beverages. A filled insulated bottle is therefore not the same as an empty insulated bottle under the stated rule: bring it empty if you plan to use that type of container, or bring a sealed plastic bottle.
Do not pack snacks, meals, coffee, soft drinks or other beverages from home. The guidance does not create a general exception for food carried in a clear bag. If you need food for a medical reason, contact the school or host venue before game day and ask what accommodation procedure applies rather than arriving with an unapproved item.

- Air horns, cowbells and other noise makers.
- Spectator athletic equipment.
- Signs or banners that disrupt sightlines.
- Outside food and beverages, other than the specifically allowed water containers.
- Any bag that is not clear, unless the current venue publishes an explicit exception.
The district rules focus on safety, visibility and the experience of other spectators. A sign that blocks another person’s view can be a problem even if it is otherwise harmless, so keep banners small enough to avoid disrupting sightlines only if the current venue allows them at all; the published guidance specifically prohibits disruptive signs or banners.
Entry, seating and re-entry
Plan to remain inside
Re-entry is not permitted under the school and district game-day rules. Once you leave the venue, you should expect that your ticket will not admit you again. Take care of restroom, medication, food and transportation needs before entering, and bring the permitted water container you will need for the entire stay.
Rules for younger students
Students in eighth grade and under must carry student identification, attend with a parent or guardian and sit in the stands. These requirements are not a substitute for a ticket: the athletics page says middle- and elementary-school students need individual tickets. A younger student attending with an older sibling, friend or unrelated adult may not meet the stated parent-or-guardian requirement.
For a family visit, decide in advance which adult is responsible for each child, keep the children together during entry and confirm that everyone knows the meeting plan. Because re-entry is prohibited, do not use the entrance area as a place to hand off forgotten items after admission.

Seating expectations
The specific seating map is not stated in the available material. The rule for students in eighth grade and under is clear: they must sit in the stands. Do not assume that younger students may stand along a field boundary, enter restricted areas or use team or spectator athletic equipment. Follow staff directions at the venue.
A practical game-day checklist
The day before
- Verify the opponent, date, kickoff time and venue through the current schedule and AZPreps365.
- For an away game, read the host school’s directions, parking information and entrance instructions.
- Open the ticket link from the Desert Mountain athletics page and confirm the correct event, price and availability.
- Check whether the host venue has published a current clear-bag size limit or additional restrictions.
- Prepare a clear bag, permitted water and student identification for children in eighth grade and under.
Before leaving home
- Put only permitted items in the clear bag.
- Remove outside food, nonpermitted beverages, noise makers, spectator equipment and disruptive signs.
- Make sure every middle- or elementary-school student has an individual ticket.
- Confirm that a parent or guardian will be present for each student in eighth grade or younger.
- Charge the phone holding the ticket confirmation and venue address.
At the entrance
- Have the ticket ready before reaching the screening point.
- Present the clear bag for inspection and follow staff instructions.
- Keep younger students with their parent or guardian and be prepared to show student identification.
- Move to the stands or another area assigned by venue staff; do not enter restricted field or team areas.
- Once admitted, remember that leaving means forfeiting re-entry.
Common mistakes and how to avoid them
Driving to the campus address for an away game
The Via Linda address identifies Desert Mountain High School, but an away game is at the opponent’s venue. Read the venue field instead of entering the school address automatically. This is the most consequential navigation error because it can send a family to the wrong city or campus after kickoff.
Assuming the schedule cannot change
The school’s warning about exported calendar entries means a date, time or location can be outdated in the version you are viewing. Recheck the listing on game day and use the current AZPreps365 information the school recommends. If the two listings conflict, contact the athletics office or host school before setting out.
Bringing a regular purse or backpack
“Clear bags only” is a district game-day rule. A small opaque bag is still a noncompliant bag, even if it contains only a phone and keys. Transfer essentials into a clear bag before leaving and check the host venue for a size limit that is not stated in the district summary.
Counting on a high-school activity pass for a younger child
The school limits activity passes to high school students. Middle- and elementary-school students need individual tickets and a parent. Buy the correct admission for each child instead of relying on a family member’s pass.

Planning to leave for dinner or supplies
Outside food and beverages are prohibited, and re-entry is not permitted. Eat and organize permitted water before screening. If someone in your group may need a special accommodation, resolve it with the venue in advance.
What is not specified publicly
Several details should be confirmed for the individual game because they are not established by the available school and district guidance:
- A ticket price or guaranteed availability.
- A maximum clear-bag dimension.
- A particular parking lot, spectator gate or entrance number.
- Whether a host venue adds restrictions beyond the district guidance.
- Whether a particular livestream carries a specific Desert Mountain game.
Do not fill these gaps with assumptions from another school, an earlier season or a different sport. The host venue’s current instructions control those event-specific details.
