You play Basim, a young street thief drawn toward the Hidden Ones, using stealth, investigations, and assassinations to move through the city. What is Assassin’s Creed Mirage?
It is a narrative-driven open-world adventure starring Basim. Ubisoft’s character account says he was born in Samarra, lost his mother at a young age, and grew up on Baghdad’s streets. The game follows his path from street thief toward the Hidden Ones.

Ubisoft presents Mirage as a tribute to the series’ earlier games. PlayStation describes it as a smaller-scale, back-to-basics adventure; those are publisher and platform descriptions, not an independently measured comparison. In practical terms, the game emphasizes stealth, parkour, investigations, and assassinations.
What does the Baghdad setting include?
The story takes place in ninth-century Baghdad. Ubisoft describes a city divided into four districts, including Karkh and the Round City. Its in-game History of Baghdad feature adds historical articles as players visit locations.

Ubisoft says the feature covers 66 historical sites across five subject areas: Economy; Belief & Daily Life; Government; Art & Science; and Court Life.
