When a hero upgrade is blocked in Sea of Conquest, first identify the exact item or currency the upgrade screen requires. Use that screen’s source prompt, then check the destination’s reward preview and eligibility before spending stamina, attempts, or currency. The route depends on the specific material, and no reliable public source confirms a current farming path for every item.
Find the exact item you are missing
- Open the hero’s upgrade panel. Note the precise material or currency shown as short; different upgrade requirements can have different sources.
- Use the in-game source prompt, if available. Tap the item or its “get more” option and inspect the activity, shop, or event it opens.
- Verify before committing. Check the current reward preview, cost, attempt limits, and eligibility requirements on the destination screen. Do not assume an activity awards the item just because an outside guide lists it.
The official Sea of Conquest website describes the game and its progression, but does not provide a hero-material acquisition guide. A third-party guide published 13 July 2026 lists possible sources for hero XP, fragments, and special materials, but those item-specific routes are not corroborated by authoritative documentation; confirm them in your current game client rather than treating them as settled facts.

Choose among routes shown in your game
If the exact item appears in more than one place, compare what the current screens actually show:
- How much of the required item the route awards.
- The stamina, currency, or attempts it costs.
- Any daily, weekly, or event limits.
- Progression or eligibility requirements.
- Whether it also advances another goal you need.
There is no established universal ranking of sources, drop rate, yield, cap, or time-to-upgrade. Make the comparison from the live reward and cost displays rather than relying on a generic farming list.

Spend scarce materials where they help your formation
When supplies are limited, prioritize heroes who serve a useful role in the formation you are actively using instead of distributing small upgrades across the whole roster. Before spending, consider the hero’s role, damage type, star level, availability, the effect of the proposed upgrade, and what else that upgrade still requires. A version-dated independent Sea of Conquest heroes guide, updated 28 September 2026 and checked against version 1.1.790 (September 2026), uses role, damage type, star level, and availability as hero-selection dimensions. It is a fan reference, not official confirmation.

Events may be time-limited, and an event listing alone does not establish that it awards a particular hero material. Check the live event page and its in-game reward preview before saving attempts or delaying an upgrade. The official event index displays dated event windows, including September and October 2026 listings; those dates can change, and the index does not establish material-specific rewards.
If the source prompt is missing or unclear
Look for the current in-game help or community channel, or a guide that clearly matches your game version. Verify any suggested item name and route against the client’s own activity or shop screen before spending. A physical product is not a solution to a shortage of virtual upgrade materials, and there is no established need to make a real-money purchase to resolve one.
