When Guardian Tales story mode stops you, first identify the block: a missed puzzle interaction, an underpowered team, a story-gated feature, or a persistent fault. Re-scan the room and objective, restart with Pause (II) > Lobby when necessary, and look for a Green Reset Switch in box puzzles. If enemies are the problem, improve heroes, equipment and element matching. If a destination is unavailable, check its required world or stage. Escalate only after those checks, using the in-game inquiry form or the help center for your region.
Identify what kind of “stuck” you have
The right fix depends on what the game is actually preventing you from doing. Guardian Tales support notes that many quests and levels rely on puzzles and hidden mechanics, so a blocked-looking room is often waiting for an interaction rather than suffering from a software defect. A combat defeat, by contrast, calls for progression work; a greyed-out feature may simply be locked behind story completion.

Keep the world, stage or quest name and the exact objective visible while troubleshooting. A solution for one room may not apply to another, and regional or later-version changes can alter a walkthrough.
Work through a puzzle or traversal block
1. Read the objective again
Open the stage objective and compare it with what you have already done. “Reach the exit” may require opening a door first; a collection or rescue objective may require interacting with an object before the path appears. Do not assume that defeating every enemy completes a puzzle stage.

2. Re-scan the entire room
Walk back through areas you already visited and look for switches, movable blocks, breakable objects, teleporters and characters who can be approached again. Try the interaction button from different sides of an object. 3. Reset a box arrangement
If a box puzzle has become impossible because a box is in the wrong square, search the room for a Green Reset Switch. Support identifies this switch as the intended way to retry certain box puzzles without abandoning the entire attempt. Activate it, then plan the arrangement from the reset position rather than repeatedly pushing a box into a corner.
4. Restart cleanly when the room state is unclear
- Tap Pause (II) during the stage.
- Select Lobby to leave and restart the stage.
- Re-enter with the objective in mind and test each interaction deliberately.
This restart route is useful when you have triggered switches in an unhelpful order or cannot tell which objects have already changed state. It does not solve the puzzle for you, so note what each switch or movable object does before repeating the sequence.

5. Get a stage-specific hint
For an exact walkthrough, provide the community with the world and stage or quest name, the objective text, and a description of the obstruction. The official support guidance recommends community discussion for likely puzzle blocks before filing a bug report. Avoid copying a solution from a different version or region without checking that the objective and room layout match.
When combat, not the puzzle, is stopping progress
If you can enter the stage but cannot survive or deal enough damage, use the game’s normal progression systems before repeatedly spending attempts. The official “How can I make my team stronger?” guidance lists several independent levers, so improve the weakest relevant one rather than scattering scarce materials across the whole roster.

A practical upgrade order
- Confirm that the party is using its intended weapons and that the weapon elements match the corresponding heroes.
- Raise the active heroes’ EXP levels before investing in characters you are not taking into the blocked stage.
- Apply available evolution stones and Awakening nodes to the same priority heroes.
- Enhance their weapons and accessories, then retry the stage.
- If the wall remains, pursue side-quest items, Heavenhold landmarks and collection-knowledge bonuses rather than assuming the story requires a new team.
Resource investment is less reversible than restarting a stage. Concentrating improvements on the party you use now makes the result easier to evaluate and avoids spending materials without knowing which change solved the problem.

Check whether the content is story-gated
A locked destination is not necessarily an error. The official regional unlock table for Europe, North America, Oceania and Latin America lists these milestones:

These are regional support-page requirements, not a promise that every future release will use the same gates. Confirm the current table for your region at Guardian Tales’ Content Unlock Requirements. If you have not reached the listed milestone, continue the main story; reinstalling the game or repeatedly restarting will not unlock content that is intentionally gated.

Rule out a bug before contacting support
Use the likely-puzzle test first
Guardian Tales’ support wording is direct: “As a lot of the quests and levels in Guardian Tales feature puzzles and hidden mechanics, it’s likely that you’re just missing something, rather than experiencing a real bug.” Apply that test in order: inspect the objective, search for interactions, try a Green Reset Switch where applicable, and restart through Pause (II) > Lobby. If another player can identify the missing interaction for the same stage and version, follow that guidance before reporting a defect.
Record useful details
- World, stage or quest name and the objective text.
- What you interacted with and the order in which you did it.
- Whether the issue survives a full stage restart.
- Your region and the game version shown on your device.
- What happens on screen, including an absent button, immovable object or crash.
Those details distinguish a puzzle-state mistake from a reproducible technical fault and let support investigate without guessing.

- Open the game’s Settings.
- Enter Account Settings.
- Select Inquiry.
- Describe the stage, objective, attempted reset and any error behavior, and attach screenshots if the form permits them.
The Google Play listing identifies Settings > Account Settings > Inquiry as the in-game contact route and links regional help centers. Its listing was updated September 9, 2026, so use the help center that corresponds to your account or service region: Guardian Tales on Google Play.
Account for updates and version differences
Recent official update notes document World 21, titled La Ventura, along with changes to progression systems, Rift content and selected Normal World 12–17 puzzles. The notes also mention a Book of Contents that helps players access game content. Read those notes when an older walkthrough conflicts with what appears in your client: the official World 21 (Normal) update. Update notes are release-specific, and later patches may supersede their puzzle layouts, caps or resource requirements.
Do not treat an old numerical level cap or material cost as a universal answer. Verify the current stage objective in your client, then compare any community walkthrough by region, version and exact room objective. This is especially important for Normal World 12–17 puzzles identified as changed in the World 21 notes.
A quick decision checklist
- Can you not progress through the room? Re-read the objective, search for hidden interactions, look for a Green Reset Switch, and restart via Pause (II) > Lobby.
- Can you progress but lose the fight? Level the active heroes, evolve them, unlock Awakening nodes, enhance weapons and accessories, and match weapon to hero element.
- Is a feature or destination greyed out? Compare your story progress with the regional unlock requirements.
- Does the same issue remain after a clean restart? Ask the official community with the exact stage details, then use the in-game Inquiry route or the applicable help center.
- Does a guide disagree with your game? Check its region, version and objective against current update notes before following it.
This order minimizes wasted attempts and materials: solve reversible state problems first, make focused upgrades second, verify intentional gates third, and report a reproducible fault last.
