If Mint Mobile shows SOS, No Service, or Searching, start with a restart, confirm Airplane Mode is off, check coverage and software updates, and verify that your Mint SIM or eSIM line is enabled. Then follow the branch that matches your problem: calls and data both failing, Android data or MMS only, activation or porting trouble, international roaming, Wi-Fi calling, or an older phone without VoLTE. The steps below move from reversible checks to a network reset and, if necessary, Mint Care at (800) 683-7392 or Mint chat.
First, identify exactly what stopped working
Look at the status bar and test each service separately. Write down whether you see “SOS,” “No Service,” or “Searching,” and whether the failure affects voice calls, SMS, picture messages, mobile data, or everything. Note when it began, especially if it followed activation, a number port, a phone change, a SIM swap, or travel outside the United States.

| What you observe | Most useful branch |
|---|---|
| Calls, texts, and data all fail; SOS or No Service appears | Coverage, registration, SIM/eSIM, activation, or device-compatibility checks |
| Calls work but websites or picture messages do not | Mobile-data and Android APN/MMS checks |
| The problem began after activating or porting a number | Unlock, line selection, transfer, and eSIM activation checks |
| Service stopped after crossing a border | Roaming-pass, Data Roaming, Wi-Fi calling, and APN checks |
| Only an older phone has lost calling service | VoLTE and 2G/3G compatibility checks |
Test in more than one place if possible. Mint notes that rural areas, thick buildings, and underground locations can weaken or block a signal. Check Mint’s coverage map before treating a location-specific problem as a phone fault.

- Restart the phone. A reboot forces a fresh registration with the mobile network.
- Turn Airplane Mode off. If it is already off, turn it on for about 10 seconds, then turn it off again and wait for the network name or signal bars to return.
- Install available system updates. Use the phone’s software-update screen and restart after an update.
- Confirm the Mint line is enabled. In SIM or mobile-network settings, make sure the Mint line is active and selected for voice, texts, and mobile data.
- Check SIM profiles. Extra physical SIMs or eSIM profiles can make the phone use the wrong line or exceed its supported number of active lines. Temporarily disable other lines while testing Mint.
- Try cellular without Wi-Fi calling. If the issue appears limited to cellular service, turn Wi-Fi calling off briefly and test a call or data connection. Mint says weak Wi-Fi can interfere in some cases.
Do not begin by deleting an eSIM or resetting the entire phone. Those actions are more disruptive and do not replace the checks above.

- 【Strong Adsorption】The inspiration of the silicone phone suction case comes from the adhesive force of the octopus. Each suction cup phone mount is 3.15 inches long and 2.17 inches wide, with 24 independent suction cups providing a stronger and more stable suction force, so you don't have to worry about your phone falling during use.
- 【Back of Phone Suction Grip】Remove the adhesive film on the phone suction cup and stick it on the phone case. You can then fix the phone on any smooth surface, which is very convenient. (The phone suction cup cannot be removed and reused after being attached to the phone case. It is recommended to attach it to a regular phone case, not a valuable one.)
- 【Widely Used】Our non-slip silicone phone sticky grip mount attaches to almost any flat phone case and make it compatible with common mobile phones such as iPhone and Android. You can shoot, watch videos or video calls in the kitchen, gym, dance studio, bathroom and other places.
- 【Capture the Wonderful Picture】Whether you are a TikTok creator or just like to share videos and photos, this phone suction cup can help you hands-free capture wonderful videos and photos for sharing with friends.
- 【Note】You can fix the phone suction cup on a smooth surface such as a mirror or glass. If necessary, wipe the suction cup with a damp cloth to obtain stronger suction. Before releasing your hand, make sure the phone is firmly fixed. (Not applicable to rough walls, wooden surfaces, and other uneven surfaces)
Physical SIM and eSIM checks
Physical Mint SIM
Power the phone off, remove the physical SIM, check that it is seated correctly and undamaged, then reinsert it and restart. Mint says reseating the card can register the phone on the network again. If the phone has two SIM slots, confirm that the Mint card is in the slot selected for mobile data and calls.
Mint eSIM
An eSIM cannot be physically reseated. Open the phone’s SIM or cellular settings, switch the Mint eSIM off, wait briefly, switch it on again, and restart. Do not delete the eSIM as if it were a removable card; deleting it can require a new activation or replacement eSIM.
After the toggle, verify that the Mint eSIM is the selected voice and data line. If another eSIM is active, deactivate that line temporarily so the test has only one cellular profile competing for service.
If calls or data failed after activation, a port, or a phone change
Check the handset lock
A phone still locked to a previous carrier cannot be used with a Mint SIM. Confirm the device is unlocked with the former carrier before troubleshooting network settings.

- SUPERIOR COMFORT — Unlike traditional circular ear buds, the design of EarPods is defined by the geometry of the ear. Which makes them more comfortable for more people than any other ear bud–style headphones.
- HIGH-QUALITY AUDIO — The speakers inside EarPods have been engineered to maximize sound output and minimize sound loss, which means you get high-quality audio.
- BUILT-IN REMOTE — EarPods with USB-C plug also include a built-in remote that lets you adjust the volume, control the playback of music and video, and answer or end calls with a pinch of the cord.
- COMPATIBILITY — Works with all devices that have a USB-C port.
- INTEGRATED MICROPHONE — A built-in microphone precisely captures your voice while you’re on the phone, taking a FaceTime call, or summoning Siri — so you’re always heard loud and clear.
Check a number transfer
For a number port, Mint’s activation guidance says to complete the transfer before installing an eSIM. Installing the eSIM too early can leave the line in an incomplete state. If you are moving an existing number, verify that the transfer has finished rather than assuming that an installed profile means activation is complete.
Verify eSIM capability and line selection
The handset must support eSIM when that is the chosen activation method. Confirm that the Mint eSIM is present, active, and selected for voice and data. Restart once more after changing the selection. If the phone remains at SOS or cannot register, contact Mint from another phone or communication method and explain whether the issue followed activation, porting, or a device swap.
When Android data or picture messaging does not work
If calls and ordinary texts work but websites, apps, or MMS picture messages fail, check the Android access point name (APN). Mint supports requesting settings by texting SETUP to 6700 where that option is available. Follow the returned prompts, save the profile, select it, and restart.

Mint’s manual instructions also specify blank fields and default MCC/MNC values for the relevant device. Menu names vary by Android version; the APN editor is commonly under Settings > Network & internet or Connections > Mobile networks > Access Point Names.

- Open the APN editor and add a new profile or edit the Mint profile.
- Enter the published values exactly, including capitalization, commas, and the MMSC URL.
- Save the profile, then tap it so it is the active APN.
- Restart the phone and test a web page over mobile data.
- Send a picture message to a contact who can confirm receipt.
iPhones generally receive automatic internet and MMS configuration when eligible. If an iPhone has voice service but no data, first verify that the Mint line is selected for cellular data and that cellular data is enabled before looking for carrier or iOS updates.
If you are outside the United States
International service requires a separate roaming setup. Confirm that your roaming pass is active and has not expired in the Mint app or account. Mint also supports checking by texting GOROAM to 6700.
- Enable Data Roaming for the Mint line in cellular settings.
- Turn Airplane Mode on for 10 seconds, then turn it off.
- Restart the phone.
- Temporarily disable Wi-Fi calling and test a cellular call or data session.
- Verify the APN, especially if Android data or MMS is the only failure.
When testing, move outdoors or to another location if the phone shows a partner network with weak signal. If the pass is active and these steps do not restore service, contact Mint Care from a different device or line.

Wi-Fi calling can provide voice and texting when cellular coverage is poor, but it depends on a working Wi-Fi connection and correct account setup. In Mint’s setup flow, enable Wi-Fi calling in the account, provide the required emergency address, and then turn the feature on in the phone’s cellular or phone settings. The exact menu label differs by handset.

If calls fail only while connected to a particular Wi-Fi network, disable Wi-Fi calling and test on cellular. A weak or restricted Wi-Fi network can prevent registration even when the cellular line itself is healthy. Re-enable the feature after cellular service is confirmed.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Older phones and the VoLTE requirement
Mint says 2G networks were scheduled to shut down by August 3, 2026, and warns that 2G/3G phones and some older 4G phones without VoLTE can lose service, including emergency calling. That date has passed, so a previously working legacy handset may now fail even though the SIM and account are unchanged.
- Check the exact phone model with Mint’s compatibility tool.
- Confirm that the device supports VoLTE (often shown as “4G Calling” or “LTE calls”) and that the setting is enabled where available.
- Check that the phone supports the 4G LTE or 5G bands required for Mint service.
If the model fails compatibility or has no VoLTE support, settings changes will not restore dependable calling. Mint says the remedy may be a new phone. Choose an unlocked, VoLTE-compatible 4G LTE or 5G phone, and verify the exact model’s Mint compatibility before buying. Also decide whether you need a physical SIM, eSIM, or both.

- Back up or record Wi-Fi passwords you will need.
- Open the phone’s reset options and choose Reset network settings (on some phones this is under System > Reset options or General management > Reset).
- Confirm the reset and allow the phone to restart.
- Reconnect to Wi-Fi, recheck the Mint line, and test calls, texts, and data.
This reset does not erase photos, apps, or personal files, but it does remove saved Wi-Fi networks, Bluetooth pairings, and cellular-network preferences. Do not use a factory reset as a routine connectivity fix.
When to contact Mint Care
Escalate after the checks that match your symptom: coverage and registration checks for SOS or No Service, APN checks for Android data or MMS, activation checks for a new line, roaming checks abroad, or compatibility checks on an older phone. Have your phone model, whether it uses a physical SIM or eSIM, the exact status-bar message, and the time and location of the failure ready for the agent.
Mint lists phone support at (800) 683-7392 and also offers chat. If the affected phone cannot make calls, use another phone or an internet connection to reach Care. The available support instructions do not establish a live outage dashboard, so do not assume an outage—or rule one out—solely from the status bar.
