If your Nokia phone stopped turning on immediately after a battery replacement, first disconnect it from the charger and check for battery damage. If the battery is safe, verify that it is the correct part for your exact phone model and follow that model’s own reassembly and power-on instructions. Do not force connectors or repeat charging attempts if the phone heats up, smells unusual, or shows visible damage.
Stop first if the battery may be damaged
Unplug the charger. Do not charge or handle the replacement battery further if it is swollen, hot, leaking, deformed, or visibly punctured. HMD’s official HMD Fusion Battery Replacement guide warns: “A charged lithium-ion battery may catch fire if damaged.” Its HMD Skyline battery guide also says not to bend, crease, or puncture the battery, or reuse one that is deformed or damaged. These are model-specific guides, but the warnings support a cautious approach: stop and seek qualified service for a suspect battery.

Confirm the phone model and replacement battery
“Nokia phone” is not enough information to identify a compatible battery or a safe internal repair procedure. Find the full model name or model code on the box, device label, or in the phone’s settings if you can access them. Compare the replacement battery’s part number and connector with the original and the documentation for that exact model. Do not assume a battery is compatible just because it is sold for a Nokia phone.

Check reassembly only using the matching guide
If your battery is removable from outside the phone, use the user guide for that model to remove and reseat it. Do not treat an externally removable battery as though it has an internal press connector. If the battery is internal, only inspect or reseat it if you have the correct model-specific repair guide and are equipped to follow it safely.
Example: HMD Skyline connector
HMD’s Skyline guide describes aligning its battery’s press connector over the socket and gently pressing one side, then the other, until it clicks. The guide notes that alignment may take a few tries. This instruction applies to the HMD Skyline only; connector designs and repair steps vary across phones. Never force a connector, scrape contacts, bridge terminals, or guess at a procedure.

Tools depend on the model
HMD’s Skyline guide lists a T3 Torx screwdriver, opening picks, spudger, and tweezers. Its Fusion battery guide lists a SIM eject tool, T3 Torx screwdriver, opening pick, spudger, and angled tweezers. These examples do not establish a universal Nokia tool kit; use the tools specified by your own model’s guide. If you lack the correct guide or tools, stop rather than opening the phone again.

Try basic power checks after safe reassembly
Once the phone is safely reassembled, follow its own user guide for charging and turning it on. The model is unspecified, so there is no established universal charging duration, button combination, calibration procedure, or reset sequence to recommend. Avoid trying button combinations or charging routines from instructions for another Nokia model. Stop if the phone develops unusual heat or smell, or if you notice damage.

When to arrange repair or support
If the correct battery is installed and the model-specific reassembly checks do not restore power, arrange an assessment rather than continuing to open or charge the phone. A technician may need to check the battery, connector or socket, charging path, or board; the information available here cannot identify which, if any, has failed. A phone that will not turn on after a replacement is not necessarily “bricked.”
