If a supported iPhone Wallet with MagSafe won’t appear in Find My, attach it to your iPhone and complete the setup prompts. If it was previously linked to another Apple Account, that account holder must remove it first. If it appears but its location is missing or old, Find My may only have the last location reported; Apple does not promise live, continuous tracking for the wallet.
First, confirm the wallet supports Find My
This setup applies to an iPhone Wallet with MagSafe model that explicitly supports Find My and is compatible with your iPhone. A magnetic or MagSafe-compatible card holder is not necessarily a Find My accessory. Apple’s setup instructions do not establish a universal list of compatible wallet and iPhone combinations, so check the exact model’s compatibility before troubleshooting the app.

Add the wallet to Find My
If you are attaching a supported wallet for the first time, tap Continue on the iPhone when prompted, then follow the onscreen steps. To add it later:
- Open Find My on your iPhone.
- Attach the wallet to the iPhone.
- Tap Add, then choose Add MagSafe Accessory.
- Follow the onscreen prompts to complete setup.
Apple says adding the wallet can enable a notification if it detaches from the iPhone. That is a detach alert, not a promise that Find My will continuously report the wallet’s position.

If Find My says the wallet is associated with another account
A wallet already associated with another Apple Account must be removed by that account holder before you can add it to yours. Ask the previous owner to remove it from their account, then try the add process again. The setup instructions do not describe a way to bypass another account’s association.
If the wallet appears but its location is missing or stale
Apple describes the wallet’s map result as its last known location, not guaranteed live tracking. For items generally, Apple says location updates when an item connects to the Find My network. If Find My cannot locate an item, it can show where and when it was last located and offer Notify When Found. These general item behaviors do not establish a wallet-specific refresh interval.

Apple describes the Find My network as a crowdsourced network of over a billion Apple devices that use Bluetooth to detect an accessory or device and report its approximate location to its owner. That network size does not guarantee that a particular wallet will be found immediately or continuously.

Apple’s general Find My guidance says a device may show its last known location for up to seven days after its last location report; after more than seven days, it may show no location. This is general device guidance, not a seven-day location guarantee for a MagSafe wallet. The same guidance says an online device affected by a Location Services issue may show “Not sharing location • Online”; that message is not identified as a wallet-specific diagnostic.

What to try if setup still fails
- Recheck that the exact wallet model supports Find My and is compatible with your iPhone.
- Make sure the wallet is attached while you follow the add flow in Find My.
- If it is associated with another Apple Account, have that account holder remove it before retrying.
- If these steps do not resolve the problem, contact Apple Support for help with your specific wallet and iPhone.
Apple’s wallet setup instructions do not provide a wallet-specific reset, firmware update, battery replacement, or repair procedure. Do not treat an undocumented reset as an official fix.

You can attach an AirTag to a personal item and set it up in Find My, but that is a separate tracker, not a way to make an unsupported wallet connect. Apple’s overview of Find My covers AirTags, and its guide explains how to locate an AirTag or other item. As with the wallet, item location availability depends on Find My receiving a location report; neither option guarantees live updates.
