What should you check after the launch time?
The steps below are general digital-content checks, not a confirmed fix for a known Crimson Desert defect. Menu labels differ by platform.
#1 Best Overall
- Join Kliff, captain of the Greymanes, and his comrades as they embark on a relentless journey to defend Pywel and fulfill their mission.
- Along your perilous path stands both dependable allies and countless foes who will stop at nothing to see your downfall.
- Face trials to uncover the truth of the catastrophe looming over Pywel and restore peace to the continent.
- Explore the mesmerizing landscapes of the continent where mystical beings, hidden treasures, and thrilling adventures await.
- Pre-order to receive the Khaled Shield (Pre Order Code on Receipt). PS5 Editions include the Grotevant Plate Set DLC as a PS5 exclusive bonus. (In Pack DLC Voucher). Bonus DLC Includes: Grotevan Plate Helm, Grotevan Plate Armor, along with Grotevan cloak, gloves, and boots!
- Confirm the time and platform availability. Check the publisher’s current announcement and the store for the platform you use. Pearl Abyss lists PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Steam, Mac and Epic Games on its DLC page. It says the DLC will not be available on the Mac App Store at launch; the Mac listing does not mean it will be offered there on day one.
- Verify the purchase and account. Make sure the transaction completed and that you are playing on the account that owns the add-on. Check the platform’s transaction history or library. The available publisher information does not establish account-sharing rules or identify an entitlement outage.
- Look for the add-on in the platform’s DLC or add-on manager. Confirm it is available for the game and enabled or installed. Epic’s general missing game or DLC guide recommends checking DLC management and release status, including any secondary launcher involved. SEGA’s general DLC access troubleshooting also describes checking a game’s DLC section and toggling an add-on off and on to reinstall it; use the equivalent option only if your platform provides one.
- Wait for installation or updates to finish, then restart. Check the download queue and any pending game update. Once complete, fully close and reopen the launcher or console storefront, then restart the game. Nintendo’s missing digital content guidance likewise advises letting downloads finish before checking access.
- Check whether the content is gated by progress or location. Some games make DLC available only after a tutorial, a story milestone or arrival at a particular area, as described in SEGA’s general guidance. That possibility is not confirmation of a specific Charting the Unknown requirement; check the DLC’s own instructions before assuming story progress is the cause.
- If you use a console disc, check region compatibility. PlayStation says a game disc and account region must match for PlayStation Store add-ons; Nintendo also documents region compatibility checks. These are general platform rules, not evidence that a particular Crimson Desert purchase is incompatible. See PlayStation add-on troubleshooting and Nintendo’s missing-content guidance.
What if the DLC is still missing?
Contact the platform’s support team or Pearl Abyss with the platform, the account or store used to buy the DLC, proof that the purchase completed, and a screenshot showing what is missing in-game. Include the game version and any error message. Pearl Abyss’s release notice does not identify a specific missing-DLC bug or a guaranteed remedy, so describe what you observed rather than assuming a particular cause.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. What is included in Charting the Unknown?
Pearl Abyss describes the DLC as adding ocean exploration by ship, islands, underwater treasures and ruins, new threats, further story content, facility rental and management, and upgraded housing. Its DLC page is the place to check the publisher’s current platform and content details. The preorder notice’s diving-set bonuses are in-game items, not physical products or troubleshooting tools; see the September 3 preorder announcement.
