If Alexa+ cannot find a booking, first establish whether the reservation or appointment was created through an Alexa+ service integration or directly with the provider. Alexa+ does not automatically search every airline, hotel, restaurant, travel agency, or local business record. For an Alexa-created booking, ask for its current status, check the confirmation sent by voice and in writing, and verify the provider’s own record before trying the action again.
A request that Alexa+ acknowledged is not necessarily a confirmed booking. In the documented local-appointment flow, PENDING and CONFIRMED are different states. Account linking, permission to share contact details, provider rules, and the specific integration determine whether Alexa+ can retrieve, reschedule, cancel, or update the booking.

Alexa+ can’t find my booking: identify where it was made
The first question is not what phrase you used with Alexa+. It is where the booking was created. Amazon’s Local Booking service describes a connected flow in which Alexa searches participating local businesses, browses services, creates appointments, and later retrieves or manages those appointments. The restaurant reservation service similarly supports availability searches, reservation creation, and updates. These capabilities depend on a participating provider and a working integration.

1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsAlexa+ also presents travel booking as an example of a supported service interface. That does not mean Alexa+ can retrieve every flight, hotel, rail, vacation-rental, or travel-agency reservation. A booking made on a provider’s website or app may have no corresponding record in Alexa’s appointment or reservation data.

| How the booking was created | What Alexa+ may be able to do | Best first check |
|---|---|---|
| Created through an Alexa+ booking integration | Retrieve details or status and, if the provider exposes the operation, reschedule, cancel, rebook, or update it. | Ask Alexa+ to find the appointment or reservation and report its current status. |
| Made directly with a provider | Usually not retrievable unless that provider has connected the booking to Alexa+ and supports the required operation. | Open the provider’s confirmation email, text message, app, or website. |
| Created through an integration but with incomplete account linking | The request may stop before Alexa+ can access contact information or the provider account. | Complete the permission or account-linking request shown in Alexa’s flow, then retry. |
If you cannot tell which path was used, search your email and text messages first. A confirmation from the business normally identifies the system that owns the booking. Do not assume that an entry in a calendar, a voice acknowledgement, or an Alexa home card proves that the provider accepted the reservation.
What booking status means
Amazon’s local-booking documentation distinguishes the appointment lifecycle states PENDING and CONFIRMED. A pending request is not the same as a confirmed appointment. The exact labels for restaurants and other providers can vary, but the principle is the same: treat the provider’s accepted record as the authority when the status is unclear.
| Status or result | What it tells you | What to do next |
|---|---|---|
| Request acknowledged | Alexa+ received your instruction; this alone does not establish that the provider accepted it. | Ask for the status and look for written confirmation before assuming the booking exists. |
| PENDING | The integration has a request in progress or awaiting provider completion. | Do not create a duplicate. Check for the provider’s confirmation and contact the provider if the state does not resolve. |
| CONFIRMED | The integrated service reports an accepted appointment or reservation. | Save the confirmation details and use the supported change or cancellation operation if needed. |
| No booking found | Alexa+ cannot resolve a matching record in the connected service, or the booking was made outside that integration. | Search the provider’s own records and confirm whether the booking was created elsewhere. |
| Change or cancellation rejected | The provider or integration does not permit that operation for this booking, time, service, or account. | Read the provider’s terms and contact its support channel rather than repeating the command. |

- Ask for the specific record. Use a focused request such as asking Alexa+ to find the appointment or reservation and state its current status. For a local appointment, the documented service can retrieve appointment details and status from the Alexa appointment datastore. A vague request such as “What did I book?” may not identify the correct integrated service.
- Check for the written confirmation. Look in the email address or phone number used during the booking for a confirmation message. Amazon’s booking policy requires an add-on to provide post-booking confirmation by voice and at least one written channel, such as email, SMS, or a home card. The absence of a message is a warning to verify, but it is not proof that the provider rejected the booking.
- Compare the details. Check the date, time, location, service, party size, traveler or guest name, and any confirmation number. A mismatch can indicate that Alexa+ found a different booking or that the provider changed the request.
- Check the provider’s own account. Open the provider’s app or website, or call the business, and ask whether its system contains the reservation or appointment. The provider’s record is the practical authority for admission, seating, availability, payment, and cancellation rules.
- Resolve permission prompts. Some restaurant flows can ask for permission to access your full name, email address, or mobile number. If Alexa+ stopped while requesting access, grant only the information you are comfortable sharing, finish the account-linking step, and retry the status request.
- Do not repeat a transaction yet. If the first attempt might have succeeded, verify with the provider before placing another reservation, buying another ticket, or submitting another appointment request.
How do I change a booking Alexa+ made?
Changing a booking is possible only when the relevant provider integration exposes that operation and the provider’s rules allow it. The local-booking service describes retrieving details, checking status, rescheduling, canceling, and rebooking appointments. The restaurant reservation service documents reservation updates. Those capabilities are not a promise that every provider supports every change.
Reschedule a local appointment
Ask Alexa+ to retrieve the appointment, then request a reschedule and state the preferred new date or time. Alexa+ may need to search the provider’s available slots again. Before accepting the replacement, check the business, service, location, date, time, and any price or duration change. If Alexa+ reports that no new slot is available, keep the original appointment until you have confirmed whether it remains active.
Cancel an appointment or reservation
Ask for cancellation only after Alexa+ has identified the correct booking. Listen for the details it reads back and complete the confirmation step. Cancellation windows, fees, deposits, and no-show rules belong to the provider. If Alexa+ cannot complete the cancellation, contact the provider directly and ask for written confirmation that the original booking was canceled.

Update a restaurant reservation
Request an update to the existing reservation rather than making a new one. Specify the party size, date, time, and restaurant. The integration may need to check availability and may ask for account or contact permissions. Verify the resulting confirmation with the restaurant, especially when the party size or time changed.

The integration may support viewing a booking but not modifying it, or the provider may block changes after a deadline. An unsupported operation is different from a failed command. Use the provider’s normal app, website, or support channel, quote the confirmation details, and ask which changes are permitted. Do not infer that a cancellation or reschedule happened merely because Alexa+ repeated your request.
Account linking and permissions can block a booking
Booking add-ons are expected to configure account linking. A linked account lets the service associate your Alexa request with the provider record. Some booking flows also request permission to use contact details, including your name, email address, or mobile number. If that permission is missing, Alexa+ may be unable to create, retrieve, or update the booking.

Follow the permission prompt in the active Alexa+ flow and grant only the requested access you accept. The available evidence does not establish one universal Alexa app menu path for every provider, so avoid relying on instructions written for a different account, device, or integration. If a prompt loops or disappears, return to the provider’s confirmation and contact the provider or the integration’s listed support route rather than changing unrelated privacy settings.
Amazon’s customer help material also distinguishes permissions for skills from Amazon product-order history. Alexa privacy settings and Amazon order history can concern Alexa data or Amazon purchases; they are not a universal archive for restaurant, hotel, airline, or appointment bookings.

Troubleshooting common symptoms
| Symptom | Likely explanation | Safe response |
|---|---|---|
| Alexa+ says it cannot find anything | The booking was made outside a supported integration, the wrong provider was queried, or account linking is incomplete. | Search the provider’s confirmation and ask the provider to locate the record. |
| Alexa+ repeats the request but gives no status | The service may not expose status for that booking, or the request is still pending. | Check email, SMS, or a home card, then verify directly with the provider. |
| You received a voice acknowledgement but no written message | The transaction may still be processing, or the confirmation channel may be incorrect. | Check the contact details used and ask the provider whether a record exists. |
| A reschedule appears to work but the old time remains in the provider account | The update was not reflected in the partner system. | Treat the provider’s record as unresolved and contact the provider before attending either time. |
| You are tempted to book again | The first request may have succeeded even if Alexa+ did not display the result. | Pause and confirm cancellation or failure with the provider to avoid duplicates or charges. |
Why provider verification matters
Amazon’s functional requirements say transaction-enabled add-ons should report current status and that a completed transaction should be accurately reflected in both Alexa and the partner system. In practice, that means a successful change should appear in the provider’s record as well as in Alexa+. When those records disagree, the business, restaurant, clinic, or travel provider can tell you whether it will honor the booking and what action is still required.

Have these details ready when you contact the provider:
- The name used for the booking.
- Date, time, location, service, and party size or traveler details.
- Any confirmation number from email, SMS, or the Alexa home card.
- The exact Alexa+ operation attempted, such as create, reschedule, update, or cancel.
- The time of the attempt and any status or error text Alexa+ reported.
Ask the provider to state the current status and, if a change was requested, whether the original booking is still active. Request written confirmation when the change affects a payment, cancellation fee, travel itinerary, or appointment time.
What Alexa+ can and cannot prove
Alexa+ can act as a voice interface to supported booking services. It cannot establish that every provider in a category is integrated, that a booking made elsewhere is visible, or that a provider accepted a request simply because Alexa+ heard it. The integration determines which records and operations are available.
“Your add-on must confirm relevant booking details via voice before executing.” — Amazon, Alexa+ Policy Requirements, Reservations & Bookings section.
That policy requirement explains why a compliant flow should read back important details before executing and provide a post-booking confirmation through voice and a written channel. It does not replace the provider’s own terms, availability system, identity checks, payment rules, or cancellation policy.
A practical decision path
- Was it booked through Alexa+? If no or unknown, start with the provider’s app, website, email, or phone support.
- Does Alexa+ show a record? Ask for the specific appointment or reservation and its status.
- Is the status confirmed? Save the written confirmation. If it is pending or absent, do not make a duplicate.
- Is account linking or permission incomplete? Complete only the requested access, then retry once.
- Are you changing or canceling? Request the exact supported operation and verify the new state.
- Do Alexa+ and the provider disagree? Stop further transactions and have the provider confirm which booking record is active.
Availability can change
The documented capabilities and policy material describe Amazon’s integration model as available on the cited documentation date, October 13, 2026. Alexa+ capabilities, participating providers, permission flows, and provider rules can change. Treat support as service-specific rather than universal, and rely on a current provider confirmation whenever the booking affects money, travel, a time-sensitive appointment, or a cancellation deadline.
