Ask for the specific reason, the rule that applies, the status of your funds and open positions, and the next step in writing. The remedy depends on the service, product, jurisdiction, terms, and reason for the restriction; no general withdrawal deadline or guaranteed outcome is established.
First identify what has actually been blocked
A sign-in failure, a ban on trading, an account under review, a withdrawal marked pending, and a wallet-level access problem are different issues. Record the exact notice text and when it appeared. Note whether you can still sign in, place trades, see balances, or manage open positions, and save any withdrawal reference or transaction identifier.

Confirm which company and product hold the account. Some operators run distinct U.S. and international services with different rules. The terms and restriction on one product may not describe another.

Keep copies of the restriction notice, related emails, support tickets, account balance and open-position screens, withdrawal request ID, relevant payment records, and dates. If a blockchain transaction is involved, save its transaction hash. These are practical record-keeping steps, not a universal evidence checklist.

Do not post passwords, full payment credentials, wallet recovery phrases, or private keys publicly or in an ordinary support email. Provide account details only through the operator’s secure process.
Contact the operator and ask for specific answers
Use the in-product help option or contact information on the operator’s verified website. Include the account identifier through its secure process, the date, and the relevant restriction or withdrawal reference. Keep the case number and the operator’s written replies.

Ask the operator:
- What is the specific reason for the restriction, and which term, rule, or policy applies?
- Is identity, payment-method, or source-of-funds verification required? If so, what must be submitted and through which secure channel?
- What is the status of the funds: available to withdraw, tied up in an open position, held as collateral, or otherwise restricted?
- What actions, if any, may you take while the review is pending?
- What is the appeal route, and when should you expect the next update?
Ask for a case-specific timeline in writing rather than assuming a standard processing period. The sources available do not establish a generally applicable withdrawal deadline or resolution guarantee.
Use the published appeal process for the exact service
Follow the route stated in the notice, email, or terms for the product that restricted the account. For example, Polymarket’s Trust & Safety Hub says users can appeal through the link in the notice or email [email protected], add context, and receive the decision rationale. Keep your appeal factual and concise: state what happened, give dates and references, explain what you are asking the operator to review, and attach relevant records through its approved channel. Distinguish what you know from what you suspect; a pending withdrawal alone does not establish why it was delayed.
Check which jurisdiction and product rules apply
Before escalating outside the platform, identify the relevant legal entity, product, and jurisdiction. An operator’s description of its regulatory status is useful context, but it does not decide whether a particular complaint is eligible for an external process.
Polymarket says Polymarket US and Polymarket International are separate services with different applicable rules. It also says U.S. users and users in other restricted jurisdictions may not trade on International, and that circumventing those restrictions violates its terms. For Polymarket International, the operator describes the service as non-custodial: users hold their own private keys and collateral for open positions is held in a smart contract. This means an account restriction, wallet access, collateral in a contract, and withdrawal processing may be separate matters. Do not assume the platform can directly return assets it does not custody, or that self-custody guarantees access; the mechanics depend on the wallet, chain, contract, and current rules.

Consider external complaint or arbitration routes only if they fit
The CFTC’s general customer guidance identifies its Reparations Program and NFA arbitration as possible ways customers with problems may seek help. It does not establish that every prediction-market dispute, product, or customer qualifies. Check the venue’s registration, the relevant product, the forum’s eligibility requirements, and any applicable deadlines before relying on either route. Kalshi describes itself as regulated by the CFTC as a Designated Contract Market. Treat that as the operator’s description; verify the relevant entity and current rules in applicable CFTC records rather than treating the statement as an adjudication of an individual withdrawal dispute. Keep regulatory developments separate from your account case
On August 11, 2026, the CFTC said it had exercised emergency authority in an active dispute involving Kalshi and New York and ordered continued operation under the Commodity Exchange Act’s Core Principles. That dated development concerns a jurisdictional dispute; it does not resolve an individual customer complaint or establish an account remedy. What to do while you wait
- Keep communication in the same official case thread where possible, and save each response with its date.
- Follow any verification instructions only through the operator’s secure channel; retain confirmation that you submitted the requested information.
- Do not create another account or try to bypass a stated geographic restriction while the case is under review.
- If the operator provides a written reason or cites a particular term, compare it with the terms for the service and product that actually held your account.
