If a delivery photo shows your street number, a view through a window, valuables, or an entry point, save the delivery details and contact the retailer or delivery service through its official app, website, or phone number. Ask specifically whether the image can be removed from customer-facing access, replaced, or reviewed by its privacy team. Removal is not guaranteed, and a photo showing your home does not by itself prove that your account or identity has been compromised.
Document the delivery and identify what the photo exposes
Keep the order confirmation, tracking number, delivery date, notification, and a screenshot or copy of the image if available. Note the detail that concerns you: for example, a readable address, an interior view, valuables, or a door, window, or other access point. This information helps support staff identify the delivery record and understand what you want reviewed.

Ask the company that controls the delivery record for a specific remedy
Contact the retailer or delivery service using a channel listed in its official app or website, or a verified phone number. Explain what the image reveals and ask whether it can be removed from customer-facing access, replaced, or escalated to the company’s privacy team. You can also ask how the image is handled and what controls are available.
Ordinary delivery-photo deletion is not a guaranteed remedy in the guidance reviewed here. The available sources do not establish a universal deletion right, removal deadline, or standard retention period for these images. App features and complaint routes differ by provider and location, so check the relevant company’s current help information rather than assuming another carrier’s process applies.

If the delivery involved USPS
For a USPS privacy question, complaint, or suspected privacy violation, USPS lists [email protected] as its dedicated contact. USPS’s privacy policy also says that a customer who has provided personal information may ask to review information USPS maintains and request correction or deletion of inaccurate information. That statement is not a promise to erase an accurate delivery photograph.
If the photo shows the wrong home or the package is missing
Handle the delivery problem separately from the privacy request. Amazon’s U.S. missing-package guidance recommends these checks:

- In Your Orders, verify the delivery address and review the delivery notice and photo.
- Check the delivery instructions and nearby locations, and ask household members or neighbors whether they brought the parcel inside.
- If tracking says delivered but the package has not arrived, wait 48 hours; Amazon says a package may be scanned before it reaches you. Check with the carrier as well.
- If the package is still missing, contact the third-party seller when applicable. For an order shipped by Amazon, Amazon says to contact Customer Service within 30 days of the expected delivery date.
Those 48-hour and 30-day intervals are Amazon’s current U.S. missing-delivery guidance, accessed October 7, 2026. They concern locating a parcel, not a deadline for removing a photo.
Decide whether account-security steps are warranted
A photo exposure alone does not establish identity theft or account compromise. If the order was unexpected or you see other signs of misuse, take steps that address those indicators. For suspected brushing scams involving unexpected packages, the FTC advises changing shopping-account passwords, contacting the marketplace to investigate a suspicious seller, monitoring credit reports, and reporting suspected scams. Its August 2026 consumer alert recommends checking credit weekly for free at AnnualCreditReport.com. The FTC also warns that QR codes in unexpected packages can lead to phishing sites; do not scan one unless you can verify its destination.

Keep the issues distinct when you escalate
- Photo privacy: Ask the retailer, platform, or carrier that controls the image record for a review and any available removal or access restriction.
- Missing or misdelivered parcel: Follow the retailer’s delivery troubleshooting steps and contact the seller or carrier as appropriate.
- Possible account misuse: Change credentials and investigate through the marketplace or relevant fraud-reporting channel when there are additional warning signs.
