First, remove the case and any attached accessories, then try the phone on its own. If it still feels uncomfortable, compare its weight, thickness, grip and pocket fit with other phones—and check the seller’s return window before deciding whether to keep it. A separate power bank can provide backup power without making you carry a large phone every day, but it adds weight when you bring it along.
Find out what is making the phone feel bulky
Test the handset without add-ons
Take off the case, magnetic wallet, grip, ring, or other attachments and hold the phone as you normally would. This simple check helps distinguish the handset’s size from the bulk of its accessories. It may not solve the discomfort; the available specifications do not establish how much weight a particular case adds.

Try it in your usual routine
Notice whether the phone is awkward during one-handed use, tiring to hold, or uncomfortable in the pocket or bag you use most. A weight figure is useful for narrowing choices, but grip, thickness and personal comfort matter too.

When comparing a replacement, look at the published weight and thickness, then handle it if possible. Check whether its shape and grip suit your hand and whether it fits your usual pocket or bag. Finally, decide whether the longer runtime is worth carrying that size and weight every day.

Keep the phone and carry backup power only when needed
If you want a lighter everyday phone but occasionally need extra power, a separate power bank is one option. Compare the combined weight and dimensions of the phone and bank with your current handset, and consider how often you would actually carry the bank. For example, Belkin’s support FAQ describes the BoostCharge Slim Magnetic Power Bank 10K (BPD015) as a 10,000mAh slim magnetic power bank; it is an example, not a universal recommendation. Check that a bank works with your phone and suits how you plan to carry it. Belkin support FAQ.
Do not treat advertised mAh as phone-delivered capacity
A power bank’s printed capacity is not the same as its rated output capacity. Energy conversion losses reduce the capacity available at the output, so the mAh number alone cannot tell you how many full phone charges to expect. Compare the bank’s stated output capacity and charging compatibility rather than assuming a fixed number of charges. Xiaomi: Why is a power bank’s rated capacity lower than its nominal capacity?

Decide whether to keep or return it
- Remove attachments: Test the phone without its case and other add-ons.
- Check comfort in context: Use it as you normally would and see how it fits your hand, pocket or bag.
- Compare alternatives: Check actual handset weight and thickness, and weigh those against the runtime you need.
- Consider occasional backup: If extra capacity is only needed sometimes, compare a phone-plus-bank setup, including combined carry weight and charging compatibility.
- Check the return terms promptly: If the handset itself remains uncomfortable, confirm the seller’s return window and conditions before that option expires. Availability, regional models and retailer terms can vary.
If holding the phone causes persistent pain, stop the activity that brings it on and seek appropriate professional advice. Changing phones is not a medical remedy.
