After defeating The Fallen, collect the three rewards, then turn back through the sewers. The Arcane Whip opens golden Anchor routes that were inaccessible before the fight, including an optional detour to the Cestus in the Sewer Reservoir. When you are finished exploring, return to the sealed three-key door. In the demo, that door is the endpoint: the Parisian Catacombs and the two guardians carrying the remaining keys require the full game.
The fight does not trigger credits or a story-ending cutscene. You can continue moving through the available sewer areas, collect items and shortcuts, and prepare your save for the full release.

Collect The Fallen’s rewards first
The post-boss route begins in the arena. Make sure the reward sequence has completed before leaving. The Fallen provides the progression tools and key listed below.

If the whip is not available, do not spend time searching for the Cestus route or trying to force the gate. Those actions depend on the post-boss reward sequence.

Follow the post-boss route through the sewers
1. Leave the arena and retrace earlier rooms
Return through the sewer rooms rather than continuing toward the sealed gate immediately. Look for golden Anchors positioned above ledges, across gaps or near grates that you could see but could not use earlier. Aim the Arcane Whip at each reachable Anchor and use the resulting swing or latch to access the higher route.
This is a backtracking section, not a new linear chapter. Rooms you already visited now contain the meaningful progression because the whip changes which surfaces Rose can reach. Check side passages and elevated platforms instead of staying on the lowest floor.
2. Use the whip as a traversal tool
The whip has two relevant functions. Its primary post-boss purpose is movement: it latches to Anchors and lets Rose cross or climb through spaces that blocked ordinary movement. It can also be used for enemy grapples, so the same tool remains useful when a newly opened route contains combat.
Do not treat every Anchor as a required objective. Some simply open a shortcut or let you collect a pickup. The important check is whether an Anchor leads to a previously unreachable ledge, grate or side room. If a route still appears impossible, move on to the next visible golden Anchor and return after checking the surrounding platforms.
Find the optional Cestus in the Sewer Reservoir
Where to look
The Sewer Reservoir contains the notable post-boss detour. Use the Arcane Whip to reach the high grate and the hidden Anchor associated with it. That route opens a secret room containing the Cestus, a fast close-range weapon.

The exact approach is environmental rather than a separate boss objective: locate the elevated grate, identify the hidden Anchor that makes it reachable, and use the whip to pull Rose into the upper route. If you remain at floor level, the room can appear inaccessible because its entry is above the normal path.
Is the Cestus required?
No. The Cestus is optional. The whip is required to reach the secret room, which is why the detour is naturally available after The Fallen. If you found the Cestus before the boss, there is no second copy to collect; continue exploring the remaining Anchor routes instead.
Choose the detour when you want another combat style or are completing the available demo pickups. Skip it when you only want to reach the demo’s final gate quickly. Neither choice changes the number of keys required to open that gate.
Use the Holy Cross when spacing is safer
The Holy Cross is taken from The Fallen’s signature attack and becomes Rose’s projectile. It gives you a ranged alternative after a fight that may have encouraged close movement. Use it when an enemy or room layout makes distance safer than standing in melee range, then switch back to your preferred close-range option when approaching an enemy is practical.
Published material does not establish verified damage values or frame timings for the Holy Cross. Treat it as a spacing and flexibility tool rather than relying on an unverified damage calculation. The Arcane Whip remains useful for movement and enemy grapples, while the Cestus supplies a separate fast close-range option if you collect it.

Return to the sealed three-key door
After checking the sewer branches, go back to the sealed arena door. The key from The Fallen is only the first of three. Two other guardians hold the remaining keys, so the door cannot be opened in the demo regardless of whether you collected the Cestus or every visible sewer pickup.
Seeing a lock that accepts three keys is therefore expected. The first key is a progress marker for the full game, not a signal that another hidden switch in the demo will open the gate. Once you have exhausted the available sewer routes, the correct next step is to stop at the door and continue in the full release.
Where the demo actually ends
Konami describes the build as “A demo featuring the opening chapter of the game.” In practice, the opening chapter ends at the sealed gate leading to the Parisian Catacombs immediately after The Fallen. The demo has no credits sequence or story-ending cutscene at that point.
You can still use the post-boss area productively before stopping:
- Collect the Holy Cross and Arcane Whip if the reward sequence was interrupted.
- Revisit golden Anchor locations in the sewers.
- Take the Sewer Reservoir route to the Cestus if you want the optional weapon.
- Open any shortcuts or gather remaining pickups that the whip makes reachable.
- Return to the three-key door so your progress is positioned at the demo endpoint.
The Parisian Catacombs and the two later guardians are outside the demo build. There is no alternate demo route around the gate and no way to obtain the other two keys within this chapter.

How the full-game transition works
Konami states that a demo save can transfer to the full version when the demo and full game are played on the same platform and account, the demo save is retained, and the full game is updated. Some demo features may be restricted during that transfer. Keep the save rather than deleting the demo after reaching the gate.
The listed platforms for the demo and full release are PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X|S and Steam. Same-platform and same-account requirements mean that a save made on one platform should not be assumed to transfer to another. Update the full game before looking for the import or continuation option.

These are the targets stated on the official demo page, not a promise that every scene will maintain the target under every condition. They also do not change the route: all versions use the same post-Fallen sequence of rewards, sewer backtracking, optional Cestus detour and the sealed three-key door.
Choose between the optional detour and stopping at the gate

Troubleshoot the most common post-boss problems
The gate will not open
That is normal in the demo. The Fallen supplies one key, while two other guardians hold the remaining keys. No amount of sewer exploration can provide the missing two keys in this build.

Return to the Sewer Reservoir and search above the normal floor for the high grate and hidden Anchor. The Arcane Whip is the required traversal tool. If you already collected the Cestus before the boss, the room will not provide another copy.

The new routes are still blocked
Confirm that the Arcane Whip was claimed after the boss, then revisit rooms containing golden Anchors. The post-boss progression comes from previously visible Anchor points and elevated ledges, not from a newly announced sewer entrance.
You expected an ending scene
The demo stops at the sealed entrance to the Parisian Catacombs without credits or a story-ending cutscene. Reaching that gate is the intended endpoint of the available chapter.
You plan to continue on another platform
The stated transfer conditions require the demo and full game to use the same platform and account. Retain the demo save and update the full game; do not assume cross-platform transfer.
Bottom line
Claim the Holy Cross, Arcane Whip and first key, then backtrack through the sewers. Use the whip on golden Anchors, visit the Sewer Reservoir for the optional Cestus, and return to the three-key door. The locked gate is not a puzzle you can finish in the demo: it marks the handoff to the Parisian Catacombs and the two remaining guardians in the full game.
