Confirm the pen model
Samsung identifies EJ-PS908B as the Galaxy S22 Ultra S Pen in its S Pen Compatibility Overview. Ask the seller to show the model marking or original packaging if available, then compare it with that reference. Appearance or a listing description alone cannot verify the identity or condition of the specific pen.

If you are considering a different Samsung S Pen, verify its exact model and features rather than assuming all S Pens are interchangeable. Samsung’s compatibility information says some Note and Tab S Pens can write on the S22 Ultra but do not provide the same feature set; the Galaxy Z Fold3 S Pen is not supported. S Pen Pro support depends on using S Pen mode. Samsung’s S22 Ultra S Pen guidance describes these differences.
Inspect the specific used pen
Before testing, look over the body and tip for visible damage or unusual wear. Samsung’s compatibility documents do not set a used-condition grading standard, so this is a practical check—not a guarantee of performance.

Test writing on the S22 Ultra
- Insert the pen into the S22 Ultra and remove it for use.
- Write across several areas of the screen, including near the edges.
- Watch for strokes that appear consistently as the tip moves; note any gaps or areas where writing does not register.
A successful writing demonstration confirms only the writing function under that test. It does not establish that Bluetooth connection or Air Actions work.
Test Air Actions if you need remote controls
The S22 Ultra S Pen supports Air Actions, which use Bluetooth and require the pen to be charged. Samsung states that “Air Actions require the S Pen to be charged.” Insert the pen into the phone to charge or connect it, then test the button and a supported remote action during the demonstration. If Air Actions do not connect
A failed connection test does not immediately prove the remote function is defective: the pen may need charge or a reset. Samsung UK provides connection and reset instructions. Follow the reset process with the pen inserted; Samsung says to keep it inserted while the reset runs and connection process completes. Menu labels or steps may vary by region.
