The information available does not establish a performance or reliability difference between those revisions, so do not infer one from the model number alone.

Sony describes both Japan-market packages as 2 TB, digital-only consoles. The Sony Store Japan CFI-7000B01 package lists a controller, horizontal feet, HDMI cable, power cord, USB cable, printed materials, and Astro’s Playroom. The vertical stand and disc drive are separate. Check the listing and invoice for the exact contents rather than assuming accessories are included.

2. Decide whether you need a separate disc drive
The PS5 Pro package does not include a disc drive. Sony says a compatible detachable drive, sold separately, enables use of PS5 and PS4 game discs as well as movie discs. If you own physical games or watch discs, include the cost of the compatible drive in your budget and verify the accessory model against Sony’s PS5 Pro compatibility information. If your games and video are all digital, you can use the console without the drive.

3. Check game, DLC, and account regions
For disc games, Sony advises that the game’s licensed country or region match the country or region of the account for related DLC and in-game currency to work. Sony also says an account’s country or region cannot be changed after it is created. Before buying downloadable add-ons, codes, or region-specific content, check the game’s packaging and the region of the account you plan to use.
Do not assume every Japan-market PlayStation has the same language or account restrictions. Sony’s page describing a PS5 Digital Edition Japanese-language-only product names that special product specifically and says it supports only Japanese console language and Japan-region accounts. That restriction should not automatically be applied to the PS5 Pro. If console language or account access is essential, confirm the exact box and model designation with Sony before purchase.
Sony Japan’s PSN terms say Japan residents use the Japanese PlayStation Store and that Sony does not guarantee operation for certain overseas services, content, or discs. If you live outside Japan, confirm account and payment options and local service support; do not treat basic console compatibility as a guarantee that every regional service or content item will work.

Sony Interactive Entertainment Japan’s warranty terms provide a one-year warranty for a new PS5 or PS5 Pro in Japan. Sony requires proof showing the purchase date, store, and product. This Japanese warranty information does not establish whether Sony will provide service in another country. Ask Sony support for the destination country and the retailer whether the unit is eligible for local service, what documentation is required, and who handles a claim.
Before paying, save the retailer’s written return policy and confirm the return window, who pays return shipping, and what happens if the console is faulty or not as described. For open-box or used units, ask for clear photos of the model and serial-number labels, confirm every included accessory, and have the seller state its own return terms.

Sony’s safety guide for the CFI-71XX PS5 Pro family lists 100–240 V, 50/60 Hz and a 390 W maximum rated power. Check the rating label on the specific console and the supplied power cord before using it in your destination country. The model-family guide is not a substitute for checking the actual unit.
Voltage compatibility and plug shape are separate checks. Confirm that the plug can be used with the destination’s electrical outlet and that any adapter or local electrical requirements are appropriate. Do not assume a Japanese plug will fit your local outlet just because the console’s voltage rating covers your supply.
