Before buying, confirm whether the event requires a ticket, what the full cost is, what kind of seating it offers, and how its schedule, parking, and stadium rules work. “Exhibition” does not mean every college spring game follows the same ticketing or game-day policy: official 2026 event pages ranged from free entry without a ticket to paid seating tiers. Those events have passed; use them as examples of why you should check the current page for your school.
Is a ticket required, and what will it cost?
Start with the event’s official athletics or ticket-office page. It should tell you whether admission is paid, free without a ticket, or free but available only to people who claim a ticket in advance. Do not assume that a previous spring game’s policy carries over.

- Free without a ticket: Clemson’s 2026 guide said no ticket was needed.
- Free, but ticket required: UCLA’s 2026 announcement asked fans to request a ticket.
- Paid options: Ohio State’s 2026 announcement listed general-admission, reserved-deck, and club seating.
These are past, event-specific examples—not current offers. Check the page for your event before making plans. The announced price may not be the checkout total: Ohio State noted that service charges might apply. Check for service or delivery fees, and review the seller’s terms for any other charges before paying. James Madison University’s 2026 announcement and UCLA’s 2026 announcement both described free parking for their specific events; that does not establish parking terms for other schools or years.

Follow the ticket link on the school’s official athletics or ticket-office page rather than relying on an unrelated listing. Before checkout, confirm who is selling the ticket, how it will be delivered, and whether you need a particular app or mobile wallet to display it at the gate. USC’s stadium event page describes mobile ticketing, but your school’s delivery and entry instructions are the ones to follow.

Also check the seller’s terms for cancellation, postponement, transfers, and refunds. There is no universal policy established for college exhibition games; the applicable terms depend on the event and seller.
What kind of seat does the ticket provide?
Look for whether seating is reserved, general admission, unreserved, or first-come, first-served, and check the venue map for which gates and sections are open. Clemson described seating as unreserved for its 2026 spring game. Ohio State’s 2026 announcement showed how ticket categories can differ: $13 general admission, $30 reserved AA deck, and $60 club seating, with service charges possibly applying. Those historical prices are not current rates.
If a premium category is offered, check what it includes rather than assuming the higher price is worthwhile. Compare the seat location and any stated benefits against your needs and the total price at checkout.

A spring event may be a scrimmage, open practice, shortened exhibition, or another format. Ask what players will do on the field and how the format affects the length and rhythm of the event. James Madison described its 2026 event as a scrimmage with a running clock and published a timeline; UCLA said its 2026 format would be set closer to the event. These examples show why it is worth checking the specific event page rather than assuming a regular-season game format.

Confirm the date, kickoff time, gate-opening time, and any pregame activities on the current official schedule. If the format or timing is not yet final, check again before travelling.

Check the venue or athletics page for the parking location, cost, lot opening times, and whether you need a pass. Look for details that affect your route or arrival, including shuttle service, accessible parking, and tailgating rules. Free parking was announced for James Madison’s and UCLA’s 2026 spring games, but those terms applied only to those events.
For a free event, find out which gates are open and whether parking or seating is first-come, first-served. For a paid event, check whether your ticket or parking pass specifies an entrance or lot. Use the event’s current instructions to plan arrival rather than relying on the previous year’s arrangements.
What stadium rules could affect what you bring?
Read the venue’s event-specific rules before packing. Check bag dimensions and prohibited items, and confirm what screening will take place, whether re-entry is allowed, and how mobility access works. Policies can differ even between spring games: James Madison, UCLA, and Clemson stated that clear-bag rules applied at their 2026 events, while Georgia Southern explicitly said its 2026 event had no clear-bag policy.
Do not buy a stadium bag or leave home an essential item based on another school’s policy. Follow the exact venue’s current instructions, including any event-specific weather or entry procedures.
