What the Reported ICODA Cases Say About Crypto Marketing That Works

The reported ICODA cases point to different strengths, not one universally best crypto-marketing channel: GEO produced the strongest conversion figures in the cases reviewed, SEO and PR were presented as longer-lasting, and KOL campaigns as fastest. Those are conclusions drawn from agency case studies, not the result of a controlled comparison. The most useful question for a project team is whether a case has a relevant baseline, a clear measurement period and an outcome it can independently check.

How strong is the evidence behind the channel comparisons?

Dan El’s TechBullion article, published October 2, 2026, presents campaign outcomes attributed to ICODA. The underlying analytics and case records are not included in the account reviewed here, so figures below should be read as reported results rather than independently audited performance. Different projects, markets, starting points and time periods also make the cases unsuitable for direct channel-to-channel ranking.

A separate Coinpedia press release dated September 18, 2026 describes an audit of more than 25 buyer-intent queries about crypto GEO, AEO, AI SEO and LLM visibility across ChatGPT, Perplexity and Claude. It says ICODA led every tested ChatGPT query, while results varied on Perplexity and Claude; only “best crypto GEO agency” produced first-place agreement across all three engines. Coinpedia also said quantitative agency claims were self-reported and disclaimed verification of press-release accuracy. This is a reported, point-in-time audit—not proof of agency quality or a guarantee of future rankings.

What did the reported cases show by channel?

GEO and AI search: higher conversion in one comparison

TechBullion reports that AI-search referrals sent less traffic than Google in the compared cases but converted better. The clearest example is Defiway, described as a crypto payments platform.

Case or claim Reported result How to read it
Defiway Over 30 days, ChatGPT visitors converted at 46%, compared with 29% for Google organic visitors; ChatGPT users grew 24.88% over the same period. The comparison is reported by TechBullion in 2026; the account does not provide the underlying analytics or define the conversion event.
ICODA’s own site ChatGPT referrals reportedly converted 2.4 times better than Google Search. TechBullion labels this self-reported and says the site reached number one in ChatGPT for “best crypto marketing agency” queries within four months. Agency-site results and self-reported conversion figures are not independent benchmarks.
Crypto prop-trading firm Reportedly reached number one in Google AI Overviews in the US and UK within 90 days, while Perplexity users grew 208%. The account does not supply the analytics behind the audience-growth claim.

The article also relays an ICODA AI Visibility page’s suggested timelines: opening robots.txt to AI crawlers may take effect within days; answer-first pages with schema markup may show results in two to eight weeks; and third-party citations may begin appearing in four to six weeks. These are timelines as described by TechBullion, not independently verified current product documentation. The article says the tool samples ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity and Gemini.

SEO: growth claims depend on the baseline and period

Case Reported result Measurement context
Godex, a no-KYC exchange Monthly organic visits rose from 7,551 to 20,634, or 2.7 times the starting figure; referring domains rose from 2,510 to 4,177; conversions increased 24% year over year; AI Overview citations rose from about 52 to 967, or 18.6 times the starting figure. The traffic comparison spans roughly 18 months. TechBullion reports these figures in 2026; they are not an independently audited attribution of SEO’s effect.
20lab, a token-creation platform Organic traffic reportedly grew 80% and more than 20 keywords reached the top ten; the case also reports a US number-one position for “create a crypto token.” The reported growth period was about four months. Its starting traffic and the precise measurement method are not stated in the account.

These cases have different starting points, durations and markets, so their growth rates are not directly comparable. TechBullion’s strategic argument is to treat SEO and GEO as a pipeline because AI Overviews and ChatGPT search may draw on pages that already rank. That is a proposed strategy, not proof that SEO alone caused the AI-search outcomes above.

PR and media placements: visibility claims, with mixed objectives

Case or agency figure Reported result What it does—and does not—establish
ICODA placements TechBullion says placements were indexed within 24–72 hours on average, remained in search results for months, and the agency had placed more than 8,000 publications, including with CoinTelegraph, CoinDesk, BeInCrypto and Decrypt. These are article-reported agency figures; the account does not provide an independent placement audit or define how persistence was measured.
Crypto prop-trading firm Twenty-three PR publications formed the core of a campaign that reportedly reached number one in AI Overviews in two markets. The case does not isolate PR’s contribution from other campaign activity.
GameFrog More than 30 placements reportedly led to six or more Google top-ten rankings and estimated media reach above 2 million. Reach is described as estimated; no audit details are given.
Vabble A campaign combining PR with YouTube and X reportedly closed a $1,138,760 private round and brought in 16,000 new users. The account does not separate PR’s contribution from the other channels or provide underlying fundraising and user-acquisition records.

Influencer and KOL marketing: fast reach, harder attribution

TechBullion calls KOLs the fastest channel in its case set and reports a tier-one audience of 4.27 million within 72 hours of a first post. For Banana Gun, a Telegram trading bot, it reports 77 publications—43 on YouTube and 34 on X—from 69 KOLs across five regions. In the six weeks after the campaign, the token price rose from $15.63 to $43.12. The article explicitly cautions that market conditions also played a part: the price movement is correlation, not proof the campaign caused it.

The account says the Banana Gun campaign selected creators by region rather than follower count, coordinated launch posts in one window and tracked outcomes on-chain rather than relying on views. It also reports an effort involving more than 160 AI accounts that reached over 200 million people in five months with zero platform flags. That last claim is not independently substantiated in the account; reach and the absence of enforcement are not, by themselves, evidence of conversions or durable audience value.

Community and reputation: sentiment and funnel outcomes

Case Reported result Verification or caveat
Godex on Reddit Across 523 placements in 39 subreddits, mentions reportedly rose from 67 to 590, while positive mentions increased from 63% to 82% in one month. The account does not give the sentiment-classification method or an independent placement audit.
Casino client on Reddit Positive sentiment reportedly rose from 41% to 82% in six weeks; negative sentiment fell from about 38% to about 10%. The underlying sample and coding method are not stated.
Bitcoin casino on Quora It reportedly reached page one for all six target queries in three weeks, with no ad spend. Search positions can vary by query, location and time; the account does not provide a reproducible rank check.
RootstockCollective A Discord funnel using 15 partner communities, combined with PR-driven search, reportedly brought 220 stakers—48.3% of all new stakers. The project also reportedly reached number one on Google for “Bitcoin DeFi staking,” while holders rose from 1,095 to 1,550. TechBullion says holder growth can be checked on-chain, but the underlying chain data was not independently inspected for this article. The campaign combined channels, so the funnel result is not attributable to Discord alone.

Paid advertising: campaign economics and platform risk

Case Reported spend and outcome Qualification
Meta token presale $10,377.63 spend; 8.86 million impressions; $1.17 CPM; 109 purchases; 5.74× return on ad spend. Historical agency case figures reported by TechBullion in 2026; not a forecast of current CPMs or returns.
AI token presale $10,000 spend reportedly generated 171 purchases and more than $80,000 revenue in one month; the account reports 8× ROAS and a $58 cost per acquisition. Reported campaign figures; the account does not provide underlying billing or revenue records.
wallet.com app installs Reported cost per install: Meta $10.42, Google $11.02, Moloco $13.25 and X $29.85. These are costs in one reported campaign, not platform-wide rates. The account also says the campaign lost more than ten ad accounts, illustrating a project-specific account risk rather than a general probability.

How should a project choose what to fund?

The case set suggests matching channel to objective and stage rather than buying a channel because one case posted a large number. TechBullion proposes KOLs and paid ads for launches, PR and GEO for authority, and SEO for compounding visibility. Treat this as a planning heuristic, not a demonstrated universal formula: several examples combine channels, and the reported case material does not provide controlled comparisons of spend and incremental outcomes.

  • For launch reach or immediate acquisition: ask whether KOL or paid campaigns are appropriate for the target regions, audiences and conversion event. Request results tied to purchases, qualified sign-ups or another agreed outcome—not just impressions or followers.
  • For authority and discoverability: PR and GEO may support visibility, while SEO can build a longer-term search pipeline. Establish which placements, rankings or AI answers matter and how often they will be checked.
  • For community-led growth: define what counts as a qualified community member and how the path from discussion to wallet, staking or purchase will be attributed. Sentiment and mention volume are intermediate indicators, not business outcomes by themselves.

What should you ask an agency before accepting a performance claim?

Use the same evidence questions for every proposal, including the agency’s strongest case study:

  1. What was the baseline and denominator? Ask for the starting traffic, conversion count, audience, sentiment sample or holder count, and the precise population behind any percentage.
  2. What period is being compared? Distinguish a 30-day conversion window from an 18-month organic-growth case, and ask whether the outcome persisted after the campaign ended.
  3. What exactly counts as a conversion? Confirm the event, attribution window, attribution model and whether revenue is gross or net. A referral conversion rate, app install, token purchase and token-price move are different measures.
  4. Can the outcome be reproduced where it occurred? For on-chain claims, request the contract, wallet or other appropriate verification method; for search claims, request queries, location, date and a repeatable live check. Do not treat a reported number as independently verified just because it might be checkable.
  5. For AI visibility, which engines and queries were tested? Ask for the prompts or query set, date, region, account or personalization conditions and citation sources. A result in ChatGPT does not establish the same visibility in Perplexity, Claude or Gemini.
  6. What continuing work sustains the result? Ask who maintains pages, schema, citations, community participation and monitoring after the initial campaign. A one-time placement or ranking is not necessarily durable visibility.
  7. What costs and platform risks are included? Get campaign fees, media spend, account replacement assumptions and contingency plans in writing, particularly for advertising or creator activity on platforms with project-specific policy and account risks.

A useful agency comparison records channel and project stage, baseline, duration, outcome definition, attribution, independent verification, cross-platform consistency, policy or account risk, and maintenance needs. TechBullion’s Dan El summarizes the standard well: “The best crypto marketing agency is the one that can show baselines, timeframes and verifiable numbers for the channel you need.”
