There is no PC edition listed on the official PlayStation Store page reviewed for Bloodborne. What people call the “Bloodborne PC port” refers to community-run projects: a general PlayStation 4 emulator called shadPS4 and a separate, game-specific project called bbport. Neither is an official Sony PC release, and neither comes with a guarantee of a flawless playthrough.
Is Bloodborne officially available on PC?
Sony’s U.S. PlayStation Store listing identifies Bloodborne as a PlayStation 4 game published by Sony Interactive Entertainment, released March 24, 2015. It also says the game is playable on PS5, with some features potentially different. The listing does not offer a PC edition. Check the PlayStation Store listing.

Accordingly, “Bloodborne PC port” is community shorthand for software intended to make the PlayStation 4 game run on a computer. It should not be taken to mean Sony or FromSoftware has released a conventional PC version.
How the community PC projects work
shadPS4: a general-purpose PS4 emulator
shadPS4 is an early PlayStation 4 emulator for Windows, Linux and macOS. Rather than being built only for Bloodborne, it aims to emulate the PS4 more broadly. Its project README says the game can run, but warns users not to expect a flawless experience. The project directs users to its releases and action builds. Read shadPS4’s project documentation.

bbport: a game-specific experimental project
bbport is tailored to Bloodborne version 1.09. Its documentation describes a converted game executable, a small runtime that implements selected PS4 functions used by the game, and a graphics core derived from shadPS4. The project calls its status “experimental, playable.”
That architecture is more specific than a general emulator, but it does not make bbport a conventional native PC release: it is a game-specific loader/runtime and compatibility effort. Its stated support for version 1.09 also means readers should not assume that every game build is supported. Read bbport’s project documentation.

The project materials do not provide a controlled, like-for-like performance comparison. Their different scope and maturity labels are useful for understanding what each project is, but they do not establish which one is faster or more stable on a particular PC.

What PC hardware and controls do you need?
The project documentation reviewed does not establish reliable minimum PC specifications or a guaranteed frame rate. A specific CPU, graphics card, resolution or performance figure therefore cannot be presented as a dependable requirement or expectation. Actual results may vary, and the projects’ maturity warnings matter more than an unsupported hardware checklist.

A controller is optional, not a stated performance requirement. shadPS4 documentation says Xbox and DualShock controllers work out of the box; it also lists keyboard mappings. A DUALSHOCK 4 is one option if you prefer a PlayStation-style controller, but the available documentation does not say you need one. See shadPS4’s controller and keyboard documentation.

The shadPS4 website lists version 0.19.0 as released October 1, 2026. That date shows project activity; a version number alone does not demonstrate that Bloodborne runs flawlessly, works on every computer or reaches a particular frame rate. Check the shadPS4 project website.

Which route should you consider?
- Consider shadPS4 if you want a general PS4 emulator and your host operating system is Windows, Linux or macOS. Its documentation describes Bloodborne as runnable while cautioning that the emulator is early in development.
- Consider bbport if you are specifically interested in its tailored approach and have the documented game build, v1.09. Its status is experimental, playable.
- Do not choose between them on assumed speed or stability. The available project sources do not establish a fair performance ranking or a guaranteed experience.
For a supported console route, Sony’s store listing identifies the game for PS4 and says it can also be played on PS5 with possible feature differences. For PC, treat these projects as community compatibility work, not as an officially supported edition.
