The ASUS ROG Swift OLED PG27UCWM is a 26.5-inch 4K gaming monitor with a Tandem RGB OLED panel and two distinct display modes: up to 3840 × 2160 at 240Hz or Full HD at 480Hz. ASUS describes its RGB stripe layout as omitting the white subpixel used in conventional WOLED designs, but its color-volume and heat figures remain manufacturer claims rather than independently established results.
What is tandem OLED in the PG27UCWM?
ASUS lists the monitor’s panel type as WOLED and its panel technology as Tandem RGB OLED. Those labels describe different aspects of the display: “WOLED” is the panel-type classification on ASUS’s specification page, while “Tandem RGB OLED” is the construction and pixel-layout description ASUS uses for this model. The WOLED label alone does not establish that it uses the same white-subpixel arrangement found in earlier conventional WOLED products.

ASUS says the panel uses a true RGB stripe subpixel layout, which omits the white subpixel found in conventional WOLED panels. The company says this design is intended to improve text-edge sharpness and color precision, and claims up to 27% greater color volume, particularly at high luminance. These are ASUS’s design rationale and performance claims; the available official specifications do not independently establish text clarity or measured color-volume gains.

The panel has a TrueBlack Glossy coating. ASUS’s July 15, 2026 availability announcement described its “4K true Tandem RGB OLED panel” and proprietary coating as delivering “supersharp imagery and incredibly accurate colors.” That is ASUS marketing language, not an independent test result. What is RGB stripe OLED?
RGB stripe describes the arrangement of red, green and blue subpixels in each pixel. ASUS says the PG27UCWM’s stripe layout uses those color subpixels without the additional white subpixel found in conventional WOLED panels. “Tandem” refers to the panel technology ASUS specifies; “RGB stripe” describes its subpixel arrangement. They are complementary descriptions, not competing names for two separate modes.
The intended benefit, according to ASUS, is more precise color and sharper-looking text edges. Whether the layout produces a visible improvement in particular apps, operating systems or viewing conditions requires independent testing; the manufacturer’s specifications alone do not establish it.

Does the PG27UCWM run 4K at 240Hz?
Yes. ASUS lists a maximum 3840 × 2160 resolution at 240Hz. Its Dual Mode also offers a separate Full HD mode at up to 480Hz. The two maximum refresh rates apply at different resolutions, not simultaneously.

|---|---|---|---|
| High detail | 3840 × 2160 (4K) | 240Hz | Higher pixel detail |
| High refresh | Full HD | 480Hz | Higher refresh rate at lower resolution |
ASUS says a hotkey switches between the modes. Its listed 0.03ms GTG response time is a manufacturer specification; it is not an independently measured input-lag result. Your computer, graphics hardware, connection and settings also need to support the mode you want to use.

What color and HDR specifications does ASUS list?
ASUS lists 99% DCI-P3 coverage, true 10-bit color, Delta E < 2, Dolby Vision and VESA DisplayHDR 400 True Black. Its UK specification page lists 250 cd/m² typical brightness and a peak HDR brightness of 1,000 cd/m²; ASUS notes that peak brightness may vary due to color pre-calibration. These are specifications and vendor claims, not independent measurements of brightness, color volume or how bright HDR looks in particular scenes.
What connections does it have?
ASUS’s global availability announcement lists DisplayPort 2.1a UHBR20 with up to 80Gbps bandwidth, HDMI 2.1 and USB-C with 90W Power Delivery. USB-C power may be useful with a compatible laptop, but the port specification alone does not guarantee that every laptop can use one cable for video, power and all other features.

ASUS also says its GaNFET power design produces nearly 35% less waste heat and a 10% lower vent temperature compared with previous OLED monitors without that solution. These are the company’s comparative claims; they do not amount to an independent long-term study of panel life.
How much does the PG27UCWM cost?
When checked on October 3, 2026, ASUS’s regional product pages listed the monitor at $1,199.00 in the United States and £999.00 in the United Kingdom. These are separate regional price snapshots, not a universal price or a guarantee of a current offer; prices can change.
ASUS announced availability of the PG27UCWM on July 15, 2026. Its US product page states a three-year warranty that includes panel burn-in. That warranty detail applies to the US listing; buyers elsewhere should check the terms offered in their region.
How should you judge its claims against another monitor?
For a useful comparison, look beyond the panel label and headline refresh rate. Check what resolution is available at each refresh rate, the subpixel layout, independent text and color testing, measured SDR and HDR brightness, connection bandwidth and USB-C power, local burn-in warranty terms, and the price in your region. ASUS’s published specifications describe what the PG27UCWM is designed to offer, but they do not provide independent results for brightness, motion clarity, input lag, text fringing, color volume, power draw or long-term OLED lifespan.
