A bike advertised for about $350 with a 1,200W peak motor and up to 50 miles of pedal-assist range sounds like a striking bargain—but those figures are unverified listing claims, not demonstrated performance. The article describing the offer does not identify the exact model or manufacturer, provide battery capacity, or report independent testing. Treat the headline numbers as a reason to investigate, not as a basis for buying.
What the $350 listing claims—and what is actually known
An Inventory article describes an Amazon adult electric mountain bike listing at $349.99, advertising 1,200W peak power and a 40–50-mile pedal-assist range. It also describes a 7-speed drivetrain and front suspension. These details are the article’s account of a listing, not independently verified specifications; the exact product and seller are not identified. Read the Inventory article.

The article does not state the battery’s capacity, the conditions used to estimate range, or whether the motor figure is peak or continuous beyond calling it peak. It provides no test results. Its 40–50-mile figure therefore cannot establish how far a particular rider would travel on a particular bike.

Why the range claim is hard to evaluate
Battery capacity is essential to assessing an e-bike’s range, but it is not given for this listing. The article says range depends on conditions without providing a measurement protocol. Without the exact model, battery details, and test conditions, the claimed 40–50 miles cannot be independently checked or fairly compared with another bike’s range.

- 1000 W Motor & Upgraded Display: The EB5 electric bike equipped with a 1000 W peak motor, boosted a top speed of 20 MPH. The display panel has adjustable backlight brightness from 1-5 levels. In addition, the upgraded LCD Display provides riding data support, such as ODO/MAX/AVG SPEED, PAS mode can be customized up to 3 modes
- Removable Large Battery: The EB5 e-bike is equipped with a 360Wh battery, which covers a range of up to 25-40 miles per charge for 5-6 hours so that it can meet travel or daily commute needs. Removable battery makes charging more convenient whether you are at home or in the office
- 4 Working Modes: PAS mode will assist you with a moderate amount of power as you pedal the bike, kick in 1-3 levels of pedal assist to suit your needs. In pure electric mode, you can twist the throttle in any increments of power you desire. Pedal mode allows the rider to pedal as an ordinary bike. Booster mode will help you push your EB5 at 4.5-7.5 km/h when uphill, which will save you a lot of efforts
- Riding Comfortably and Handily: The 26" puncture resistant tires are for greater durability. A high-strength front fork suspension, 7-speed gears, dual lights, LCD display, front and rear mechanical disc brakes can bring your riding more comforts, make your e-bike adapted to complex terrains and keep you safe
- Minimalist Appearance & Lightweight Frame: A highly efficient, city style affordable electric bicycle offering minimalist and sleek appearance and only weighs 49.6 lbs. The triangular high-carbon steel frame provides more stability
The same uncertainty applies to the motor claim. A peak-power figure alone does not tell you the continuous rating or establish how the bike performs in ordinary riding. The available description does not include an independent ride test, so it cannot support claims about real-world speed, climbing ability, or trail performance.
What the 1,200W headline means for classification
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission’s federal bicycle-requirements guidance describes a bicycle, in relevant part, as having fully operable pedals and an electric motor rated below 750 watts, with motor-only maximum speed below 20 mph under specified conditions. A 1,200W headline does not establish whether this particular bike meets that definition. Nor is the federal definition a complete account of state and local e-bike rules. Check the exact model’s specifications and the rules where you plan to ride. CPSC bicycle business guidance.

Check electrical-system safety before considering a purchase
CPSC identifies UL 2849 as the safety standard for e-bike electrical systems. In a letter discussing micromobility products, the agency explains that system standards address whether the device, battery, cells, and charger work safely together, helping mitigate fire and shock risks. CPSC has said, “The standards were developed to reduce the serious risk of dangerous fires with battery-powered micromobility products.” CPSC letter on UL standards.

Questions to answer before buying
- What is the exact model and seller? The article does not identify either. Confirm both on the live listing and check that the manufacturer provides support for that model.
- What battery is included? Look for capacity and manufacturer information, along with documentation tying the battery and charger to the bike.
- What do the power and range figures describe? Request the continuous motor rating, as well as the conditions behind any range estimate. Do not treat peak power or an unqualified maximum range as a complete performance description.
- Can the seller document electrical-system certification? Seek evidence for the exact model, not just a general “UL” statement.
- What happens if the bike needs service? The article does not establish warranty coverage, replacement-parts availability, seller support, or current return terms. Verify each before ordering.
These are not minor details: without them, the advertised price cannot be weighed against the bike’s safety documentation, serviceability, or likely ownership costs.

CPSC advises following the manufacturer’s charging instructions, staying present while charging, and using only the supplied or manufacturer-recommended charger. Is it a mountain bike or a low-cost commuter?
The Inventory article characterizes the bike as commuter-oriented and potentially suitable for light trail riding, while cautioning against treating it as a serious technical mountain bike. That is the article’s description, not a conclusion from an independent ride test. Its mention of front suspension and a 7-speed drivetrain likewise does not establish how the bike handles rough terrain or whether its components suit your intended use.

What can—and cannot—be concluded
The reported $349.99 price, 1,200W peak motor, 40–50-mile pedal-assist range, front suspension, and 7-speed drivetrain all come from a secondary article about an unidentified listing. The manufacturer, battery capacity, exact certification status, warranty, seller support, and current return terms remain unknown. There is no independent test establishing the advertised range or ride performance.
Until the exact model and documentation are available, there is no sound basis to conclude that the bike delivers the advertised performance or is a well-supported purchase. Verify the current listing and its safety, battery, and service details before deciding.
