For most PX4 Pro owners, the safest choice is a screen made specifically for ultra-short-throw (UST) projection, with ambient-light rejection (ALR) if you watch with daylight or room lights on. Hisense Canada lists 100-inch DLT100-E and 120-inch DLT120-C ALR screens. In a darkened room, you can also consider a fixed-frame UST screen, but “fixed-frame” describes the mounting style, not optical compatibility. Confirm the screen is designed for UST projectors before buying.
The short answer: choose by light level, then by size and mounting
The PX4 Pro is a UST projector with an advertised 80- to 200-inch image range and an approximately 0.2:1 throw ratio. That very short throw means the screen surface has to be suitable for the steep, upward angle at which the projector delivers light. A conventional long-throw projector screen is not automatically a good match.

In a room that remains bright during viewing, investigate a UST-compatible ALR screen first. Hisense describes its optional ALR screen as being intended to reject ambient light and improve perceived contrast, brightness and color accuracy. Those are the manufacturer’s stated purposes, not a guaranteed improvement for every room. No measured brightness threshold, rejection percentage, gain figure or viewing-angle specification is provided for the named screens.

If you can control the room lighting, compare UST-compatible screens by diagonal size and installation style. A fixed-frame screen gives you a permanently tensioned, wall-mounted surface, but the fixed-frame label alone says nothing about whether the optical surface works with UST projection.

What ALR and fixed-frame actually mean
ALR is a light-handling category
Ambient-light rejection refers to an optical screen designed to direct more projector light toward viewers while reducing the effect of some off-axis room light. This is why ALR is the logical category to investigate for daytime sports, gaming or television in a lounge where blinds and lights cannot always be controlled.
ALR does not make daylight disappear. The amount of improvement depends on the room’s light direction, wall and ceiling reflections, seating position and the screen’s own optical design. The available PX4 Pro material does not publish a laboratory rejection percentage or a minimum/maximum room-light level, so treat ALR as a room-matching choice rather than a promise that the image will look like it does in a dark theater.
Fixed-frame is a mounting format
A fixed-frame screen is stretched over a rigid frame and installed permanently on a wall. It normally keeps the surface flatter than a temporary pull-down arrangement and avoids the setup time of portable screens. It can be a good fit for a dedicated cinema room or a living room where the screen will stay in place.
Fixed-frame and ALR are not competing labels. A screen can be both fixed-frame and UST ALR. Conversely, a fixed-frame screen with a conventional front-projection surface may not be suitable for the PX4 Pro. Verify both requirements separately: the mounting format you want and explicit UST compatibility.
UST compatibility is the non-negotiable specification
The PX4 Pro’s throw ratio is listed by Hisense as 0.2:1. ProjectorCentral lists 0.19:1 for the same model and the same 80- to 200-inch image range; the small difference is a rounding or specification-format difference, not a reason to select an ordinary long-throw screen. Ask the screen seller or manufacturer to state that the surface is intended for ultra-short-throw projection.

Which screen fits your room?
Bright room: UST ALR first
Choose a UST-compatible ALR screen when the room has substantial daylight, open curtains, ceiling fixtures or lamps that remain on during viewing. Hisense positions its own ALR option for this type of use, with the stated goals of improving contrast, brightness and color accuracy in ambient light.
Before ordering, identify where the light comes from. A screen that handles light from above may behave differently when a window is directly opposite the screen or beside the seating area. Since the published PX4 Pro information does not include a measured ALR performance curve, use the manufacturer’s room-light guidance as a starting point and check the seller’s return policy if your installation is unusually bright or has multiple light sources.
Light-controlled room: compare surface and installation
If you can close blinds, dim lights and keep the room reasonably dark, ALR may be less important than choosing the right size and mounting arrangement. A fixed-frame UST screen can provide a permanent, clean installation. You still need to check that its optical surface is specified for UST projection; a fixed frame by itself is not enough.
In a dark room, also consider where viewers sit. The available product information does not establish the viewing-angle behavior of the DLT100-E or DLT120-C, so do not assume that every seat will see identical brightness or color until the screen’s own specifications confirm it.
Want more than 120 inches?
Hisense advertises the projector for images from 80 to 200 inches, but its Canadian page names ALR screens only in 100-inch and 120-inch sizes. The Singapore product page says automatic screen alignment is available only for screen sizes up to 120 inches. Therefore, a 130- to 200-inch installation may be possible within the projector’s advertised image range, but you should not assume that Hisense’s named ALR products cover those sizes or that automatic alignment will apply.

| Specification or feature | Published value | How to use it when choosing a screen |
|---|---|---|
| Advertised image size | 80–200 inches | Shows the projector’s stated operating range; it does not mean every screen type or model is available at every size. |
| Throw ratio | 0.2:1 from Hisense; 0.19:1 on ProjectorCentral | Confirms an ultra-short-throw design. Select a screen explicitly made for UST projection. |
| Brightness | 3,500 ANSI lumens, manufacturer specification | Useful context for room planning, but not a measured guarantee of a particular screen’s daytime performance. |
| Contrast | 6,500:1, manufacturer specification | Do not use this figure alone to predict perceived contrast with a particular screen or in a bright room. |
| Adjustable iris | Seven levels, described on Hisense’s U.S. product page | Provides a projector-side brightness/contrast control; it does not replace a screen designed for the room’s light. |
| Hisense-listed ALR sizes | 100 inches (DLT100-E) and 120 inches (DLT120-C), Canada | These are the named options in the Canadian listing, not proof that the same bundle or sizes are sold in every country. |
| Automatic screen alignment | Available up to 120 inches, according to Hisense Singapore | Do not expect the feature to cover a screen larger than 120 inches. |
The 3,500-lumen and 6,500:1 figures are manufacturer specifications. The reviewed pages do not provide an independently measured room-light limit, screen gain, rejection percentage or viewing-angle result. Use them to understand the product category, not as a substitute for a screen specification.
How to choose the diagonal
Start with seating distance and wall space
Pick the screen size that fits the viewing distance, wall width and furniture before you plan the projector shelf or cabinet. The PX4 Pro is advertised from 80 to 200 inches, while the Hisense ALR choices specifically named in Canada are 100 and 120 inches. A 100-inch screen is the smaller official ALR option; 120 inches gives a larger cinema-style image but needs more wall width and careful placement.
Do not buy a screen solely because its diagonal falls inside the projector’s range. Check the complete frame dimensions, border width and the height of the image above the floor. A UST projector sits close to the wall, so a small change in cabinet height can move the image substantially up or down.
Use the projector’s geometry, not guesswork
The 0.2:1 throw ratio is a rounded manufacturer figure. ProjectorCentral’s 0.19:1 listing differs slightly. For a real installation, use the screen maker’s placement chart or the projector’s current manual to confirm the distance from the projection surface and the required cabinet height. Verify the result with the actual screen frame, not just the visible image diagonal.

Buying checklist
- UST specification: The product description should explicitly identify ultra-short-throw compatibility.
- Room-light strategy: Select ALR when daylight or lights will commonly remain on; do not assume ALR eliminates all washed-out blacks or reflections.
- Diagonal: Compare the 100- and 120-inch Hisense options with the projector’s broader 80- to 200-inch advertised range.
- Mounting: Choose fixed-frame for a permanent wall installation only if the screen’s optical surface is also UST-compatible.
- Optical details: Ask for gain, viewing-angle and ambient-light performance data if those factors determine your seating layout. The PX4 Pro pages reviewed do not state these values for DLT100-E or DLT120-C.
- Regional contents: Confirm what is in the package where you live. Hisense Singapore explicitly says the ALR screen is not included, so do not assume a projector purchase includes one.
- Alignment support: If your screen is larger than 120 inches, plan for manual alignment because the Singapore listing limits automatic screen alignment to sizes up to 120 inches.
- Wall and cabinet measurements: Measure the finished frame, not just the advertised diagonal, and confirm the projector can sit level and square to the screen.
Installation sequence for a UST screen and PX4 Pro
- Measure the viewing wall. Mark the usable width, ceiling height, furniture clearance and the screen’s finished frame dimensions.
- Confirm the screen type. Before drilling, verify in the screen documentation that the surface is designed for ultra-short-throw projection and, if needed, ambient-light rejection.
- Set the screen height. Follow the screen maker’s mounting template. The bottom edge and image height determine where the PX4 Pro must sit.
- Place the projector on a rigid, level surface. UST geometry is sensitive to tilt and sideways rotation. Keep the chassis square to the screen.
- Set the physical position first. Move the projector and adjust its height before relying on digital keystone or image corrections. Excessive electronic correction can reduce usable image area.
- Align the image to the frame. Use the projector’s alignment tools only after the screen and projector are mechanically stable. Automatic screen alignment is stated to work up to 120 inches; larger installations require additional manual planning.
- Check the whole image. Display text and high-contrast edges at all four corners. Look for bowing, clipped borders, uneven focus or spill outside the frame.
- Test with your real lighting. View the same content with curtains open, lights on and lights off. This is the practical check that determines whether your room benefits from the ALR category.
Common mistakes and how to avoid them
Buying a standard fixed-frame screen
A rigid frame can look attractive in a product listing, but rigidity does not make a surface UST-compatible. Reject any model whose documentation does not mention ultra-short-throw projection.
Assuming the screen comes with the projector
Regional packages differ. Hisense Singapore states that the ALR screen is not included. Check the exact local bundle, model number and box contents before budgeting or scheduling installation.
Using brightness numbers as a room calculator
The 3,500 ANSI-lumen claim may sound sufficient for any daylight room, but the published material does not establish a brightness threshold for a particular screen and room. Window direction, reflections and screen optics all matter. Treat the number as a manufacturer specification, not a guarantee.
Planning a large screen around automatic alignment
The advertised projector range reaches 200 inches, while automatic screen alignment is limited to up to 120 inches on the Singapore page. For a larger image, prepare to square the projector and complete alignment manually.
Confusing ALR with a universal upgrade
ALR is most valuable when ambient light is a recurring problem. In a dark room, installation quality, screen size and seating may matter more. Conversely, an ALR surface cannot compensate for a projector that is physically misaligned or a room with uncontrolled direct light.

Recommended decision paths
Living room with daytime viewing
Start with a UST ALR screen. Compare the 100-inch DLT100-E and 120-inch DLT120-C where those models are sold, then verify the local package and finished dimensions. Test the setup with the actual windows and lamps you use.
Dedicated, dark cinema room
Compare a fixed-frame UST screen with an ALR model based on size, seating and installation preference. Fixed-frame is reasonable for a permanent wall, but retain the UST requirement even when ambient light is minimal.
Large 130- to 200-inch installation
Confirm that a screen in the required diagonal is explicitly UST-compatible and that its frame fits the wall. Plan manual geometry and alignment because the stated automatic alignment limit ends at 120 inches. Do not assume the 100- and 120-inch Hisense ALR products extend to larger sizes.
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Final buying guidance
Buy a UST-compatible ALR screen when the PX4 Pro will operate in ambient light; this is the clearest match to Hisense’s stated purpose for its optional screen. If the room can be darkened, a fixed-frame UST screen is a valid alternative when you want a permanent installation. Choose the diagonal only after checking wall dimensions and seating, verify the regional bundle, and treat the projector’s brightness and contrast figures as manufacturer specifications rather than measured room-performance promises.
