Samsung’s “FE” means Fan Edition. It is a label for selected Galaxy features in a range that includes smartphones, tablets, and earbuds—not a separate Samsung operating system or a guarantee that every FE device has the same features. As of October 8, 2026, Samsung UK lists the Galaxy S26 FE as its latest FE phone.
What does FE mean on a Samsung phone?
FE stands for “Fan Edition,” according to Samsung’s FE buying guide. Samsung says the series draws on fan feedback and brings selected Galaxy features to FE products. That is Samsung’s description of the range; it does not mean every model follows an identical formula or includes every feature associated with a flagship.

FE is also broader than phones. Samsung groups Galaxy S-series FE smartphones alongside Galaxy Tab FE tablets and Galaxy Buds FE earbuds. The exact features depend on the individual product.
Which Samsung FE phone is the latest?
As of October 8, 2026, Samsung UK identifies the Galaxy S26 FE as its latest FE smartphone. Samsung announced it on August 27, 2026, describing it as the newest addition to the Galaxy S26 family and positioning it as a way to bring selected premium Galaxy experiences to more users. That is Samsung’s product positioning, not an independent finding about value or performance.

- The Galaxy S21 FE sports a sleek polycarbonate back with a premium matte finish that resists fingerprints and feels smooth in hand, giving it a stylish yet practical design.
Is a Samsung FE phone the same as a flagship?
Not necessarily. Samsung presents FE as a way to offer selected Galaxy experiences within its product range. The label alone does not establish that an FE phone matches every specification or capability of another Galaxy S-series model. To decide whether a particular FE model suits you, compare the exact versions sold in your market rather than relying on the family name.

What should you know about the Galaxy S26 FE announcement?
Samsung’s Global Newsroom announced the S26 FE on August 27, 2026. The announcement is useful for confirming the launch date and Samsung’s stated features, while the local product page is the better place to check market-specific configurations and availability.
For context, Samsung’s September 4, 2025 announcement of the preceding Galaxy S25 FE quoted Jay Kim, then Executive Vice President and Head of Customer Experience Office, Mobile eXperience Business, calling that model “a gateway into the broader Galaxy AI ecosystem.” That statement referred to the S25 FE and Samsung’s positioning of it; it should not be treated as a claim specifically about the S26 FE.
