What Qubo Plans Beyond Security Cameras, According to Founder Nikhil Rajpal

Qubo’s next move is to extend its connected-device business into home appliances, with smart room heaters and robot vacuums among the planned 2026 launches named by co-founder and CEO Nikhil Rajpal. Water purifiers are a possibility, not a confirmed launch. Cameras and smart security remain central to the business; the plan is to let customers add connected products over time, not require them to buy a complete smart-home system.

Security remains Qubo’s business center

Qubo is not leaving security cameras behind. In a September 2026 interview with One Big Future, Rajpal said camera products accounted for about 80% of company revenue at that time. He also described smart-security devices more broadly as contributing nearly 80%. These are founder-reported figures, not audited revenue data, and the categories are not identical.

Qubo’s current official catalog spans smart door locks, video doorbells, security cameras, automation and appliances, dashcams, tyre inflators, GPS trackers, and car air purifiers. Rajpal also identified cameras, dash cameras, smart locks, and air purifiers as part of the existing business in the interview. That established range should be distinguished from the appliance categories he described as forthcoming or possible.

Which products does Qubo plan to add?

Smart room heaters and robot vacuums

In an interview reported by The Economic Times on October 10, 2026, Rajpal said Qubo planned to launch smart room heaters and robot vacuums in 2026. Those are plans, not confirmation that the products are currently on sale. Check Qubo’s current catalog for availability before treating either as a released product.

Water purifiers remain a possibility

Rajpal described water purifiers as a potential category that could follow. The reporting does not establish a launch date or confirm that Qubo has released one, so it is best understood as an option under consideration rather than an announced available product.

The larger idea is to connect devices to useful context and routines. Rajpal gave the example of an air purifier responding to outdoor air quality and turning off when its user leaves. He summarized the ambition to The Economic Times this way: “The devices we build anticipate and act on your behalf.” That describes the intended product direction; it is not evidence that every Qubo device already performs those tasks.

Qubo’s approach is gradual, not an all-at-once smart home

Rajpal has argued that consumers may find a complete connected-home ecosystem difficult to adopt as a bundle. Qubo’s preferred route is for people to add products as their needs evolve, while bringing devices together through a common ecosystem. In practical terms, the company is broadening from security into appliances without saying customers must replace their existing devices or buy every category at once.

What Qubo’s camera AI and plans actually include

Rajpal told The Economic Times that Qubo had developed on-device AI models that can identify people and detect possible threats. The report put some camera models at around ₹2,500 at the time of publication on October 10, 2026; this is an approximate reported price, not a guaranteed current price for every model.

Qubo’s AI Guard page lists person and motion detection, instant notifications and calls, automatic alarms and spotlights, image alerts, and zone fencing on select models. These features are not universal across the camera range. The page specifies that zone fencing is available only on Smart Bullet Cam Pro and Smart Bullet Cam Prime.

Cloud storage is bundled with premium plans rather than being an automatic benefit of every camera. Qubo’s page also says access without an SD card applies only to selected models. Its displayed monthly plan prices are ₹149, ₹249, and ₹399; displayed annual options are ₹1,490, ₹2,490, and ₹3,990. The stated backup period applies to two cameras and is prorated when more devices are added. Prices and availability can change, so confirm the terms on the official page before subscribing.

Why Qubo says Indian homes need different products

Rajpal grounds Qubo’s product strategy in the idea that products designed for Western homes may not suit India’s building materials, family structures, or security needs. “The fundamental reason we built Qubo was that we felt products made for the West are not necessarily right for India,” he told The Economic Times. The report cited monitoring visitors, children, and domestic workers as use cases. These are the founder’s rationale and reported examples, not a claim that every Indian household shares the same needs.

International ambitions, with expansion still developing

Rajpal said Qubo wants to become a strong smart-devices company in India and hopes to expand globally. The Economic Times reported that Qubo had recently launched in the Middle East and was considering further expansion, including the US for dashcams. That is reported activity and exploration, not confirmation of a finalized worldwide rollout.

The company’s hardware ambitions also come with execution demands. A July 2026 Gadgets Now profile reported that Qubo began in 2017, took almost three years to launch its first product, and saw that product fail. The profile used the history to illustrate a process of iteration; it does not establish that new appliance categories will succeed.

Reported scale and funding context

Company figures reported in 2026 are estimates attributed to Rajpal, not independently verified results. Gadgets Now reported roughly ₹350 crore in prior-year revenue and quoted his expectation of 60–70% growth for the current year. In the September 2026 One Big Future interview, Rajpal said Qubo expected to be close to ₹500 crore that year. The two figures come from different reporting dates and refer to different periods; the growth expectation is a forecast, not a final outcome.

The Economic Times reported that Qubo had an in-house technology team of about 100. Rajpal said the Hero Group had funded the business so far and that other sources of capital would help support larger ambitions. The cited reporting does not announce new financing terms or a funding round.
