Grave Seasons is announced for Windows PC, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and the original Nintendo Switch (Switch 1). Perfect Garbage lists March 9, 2027 as the release date, but the PlayStation Store currently displays September 3, 2027 for the PS5 listing. Those dates have not been reconciled publicly, so check the store page for the platform you intend to use before planning around launch.
The PC version has an official Steam listing. The developer’s platform FAQ does not list Xbox One, PS4, or Switch 2, and the reviewed official material does not confirm a boxed Switch edition, a current demo, or Game Pass inclusion.

Platforms confirmed for Grave Seasons
Perfect Garbage’s Steam community FAQ answers its “Where can I play?” question with this list: PC (Windows), Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch 1. That is a generation-specific announcement rather than a general promise covering every console in a family.
| Platform | Generation or operating system | What the official information establishes |
|---|---|---|
| Windows PC | Windows computer | The developer confirms PC (Windows), and an official Steam listing exists. |
| Xbox Series X|S | Current Xbox generation | The developer confirms Xbox Series X|S support. |
| PlayStation 5 | Current PlayStation generation | The developer confirms PS5 support, and a PlayStation Store listing is live. |
| Nintendo Switch 1 | Original Nintendo Switch hardware | The developer explicitly names Nintendo Switch 1. The announcement does not establish a Switch 2 version. |
The list describes the announced launch targets. It does not say that the game will run on Xbox One or PlayStation 4 through backward compatibility, and it does not extend the Switch 1 announcement to Nintendo’s newer hardware.

Windows PC
Windows is the only computer operating system named by the developer. Steam is the PC storefront shown in the official listing, so a Windows player should look for the game there rather than infer support for macOS or Linux. The Steam page’s extracted release field still says “planned 2026,” but that older storefront text conflicts with the developer’s later announcement of March 9, 2027. The newer developer communication is the more relevant date signal.
Xbox Series X|S
Both Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S are included in the developer’s FAQ. No Xbox One version appears in that list. The September announcement says the team is working with a porting partner so the console launches can be smooth, which is why the release plan moved from the earlier Fall 2026 target.
PlayStation 5
PS5 is confirmed by the developer and has a PlayStation Store listing. It is the one platform with a plainly visible date conflict: the developer says March 9, 2027, while the current store page shows September 3, 2027. Neither of the official sources reviewed explains whether the store date is a placeholder, a platform-specific schedule, or a later change. Treat September 3 as the date currently displayed by that store, not as a proven correction to the developer’s announcement.
Nintendo Switch 1
The FAQ’s wording is unusually specific: “the Nintendo Switch 1.” That confirms the original Switch family target, but it is not confirmation for Switch 2. If you own a newer Nintendo system, wait for a separate compatibility statement instead of assuming that a Switch 1 release automatically covers it.
Which release date should you trust?
There are three pieces of date information in the official material, and they do not all have the same weight.

The developer’s announced date: March 9, 2027
In its September 30 update, the Perfect Garbage team wrote, “To start off, we have made the difficult decision to push back our launch date to March 9th 2027.” The same announcement says the earlier goal was Fall 2026 and explains that the delay gives the team time to work on console ports, optimization, polish, and bug fixes. It also says the studio is now working with a porting partner to make the console launches run smoothly.
That makes March 9, 2027 the developer-announced release date for the project as a whole. It is the date to use when describing the current plan, while recognizing that a planned date can still change.

The PlayStation Store date: September 3, 2027
The PS5 store page currently displays September 3, 2027. Because that date is attached to the live platform listing, PS5 buyers should check it directly when wish-listing, pre-ordering, or arranging time off. There is no official explanation in the reviewed material for the five-month difference between that listing and the developer’s March date, so it would be inaccurate to declare either one a confirmed platform-specific schedule.
The older Steam “planned 2026” label
Steam still exposes a planned-2026 value in the extracted listing information. That label reflects the earlier schedule and predates the September delay notice. It should not override the developer’s newer March 9, 2027 announcement. Steam can still be useful for following the Windows listing, but its old date is not the current developer-announced target.
What kind of game is Grave Seasons?
Grave Seasons is described as an isometric pixel murder-mystery farming and life simulation game. The player farms, investigates events, and tries to protect residents from a supernatural serial killer. That combination matters when choosing a platform: it is not simply a farming game with an optional dark story, but a mystery-driven game whose central premise involves ongoing danger and investigation.

- This model includes battery life of approximately 4.5 - 9 hours.
- The battery life will depend on the games you play. For instance, the battery will last approximately 5.5 hours for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild (games sold separately)

The developer’s official Steam community FAQ gives the game an M rating and warns that the horror scenes can be quite violent. Rating systems can vary by territory, but the M designation is the developer’s stated rating in the reviewed FAQ. Anyone buying for a younger player should read the local store’s rating details rather than rely only on the genre labels “farming sim” or “life sim.”

Xbox One and PlayStation 4
The confirmed list names Xbox Series X|S and PS5, not Xbox One or PS4. No reviewed source promises a last-generation edition or says that those consoles will receive a separate port. Do not buy on the assumption that a current-generation listing guarantees a playable last-generation version.
Nintendo Switch 2
The FAQ explicitly says Nintendo Switch 1. That is positive evidence for the original Switch and no evidence for Switch 2. A later announcement could clarify native support, backward compatibility, or an enhanced edition, but none of those is established by the current platform information.
A physical Switch release
No reviewed official source confirms a physical cartridge or boxed Switch edition. The platform announcement tells you that a Switch version is planned; it does not tell you whether the game will be sold at retail, as a download, or in both formats. Avoid treating a retailer placeholder or a hardware listing as proof of a physical release.
A playable demo
Current demo availability is not established by the official material reviewed for this FAQ. The Steam listing should be checked for any live demo button or announcement, but the existence of the store page alone does not mean a demo can be downloaded.

Game Pass or another subscription launch
An earlier March announcement mentioned a Game Pass launch-day entitlement, but that detail is not repeated in the September delay notice or the current developer FAQ. Because subscription arrangements can change during a delay, do not assume that a Game Pass entitlement will be available on day one unless Perfect Garbage or Microsoft confirms it again.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. How to choose where to play
Choose Windows PC if you want the announced Steam route
Windows is the clearest PC option because it is the operating system named by the developer and Steam is the identified storefront. Before release, verify the final system-requirements panel on Steam. The available material does not provide processor, graphics, memory, storage, or operating-system-version requirements, so it is not possible to make a responsible hardware recommendation from the announcement alone.
Choose Xbox Series X|S if you already use that console family
The developer treats Series X and Series S as one supported platform family. The announcement does not publish separate performance targets, resolution modes, or an Xbox store date. If those details affect your purchase, use the eventual Xbox listing and the developer’s launch updates rather than extrapolating from the PC or PlayStation versions.
Choose PS5 only after checking the live listing date
PS5 is definitely among the announced platforms, but it is also the platform with the unresolved date discrepancy. Check the PlayStation Store page close to launch for the current release date, edition information, rating, and any pre-order terms. A store page can change independently of an older article or social post, so a saved bookmark is more useful than relying on a search snippet.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsChoose Nintendo Switch 1 for the original handheld-console hardware
The Switch 1 announcement is the only portable-console confirmation in the current FAQ. Because no physical edition is confirmed and no Switch 2 support is established, decide first whether you need a cartridge and whether your intended hardware is the original Switch. Then check Nintendo’s store listing for the final purchase format, file size, rating, and release date when it is available.
Best Value
- One player can use a Joy-Con in each hand
- Two players can each take one
- Multiple Joy-Con can be employed by numerous people for a variety of gameplay options (additional Joy-Con sold separately)
- Slip a set of Joy-Con into a Joy-Con grip accessory, mirroring a more traditional controller. Or, select an optional Nintendo Switch Pro Controller.
What you need before launch
- A supported platform: Windows PC, Xbox Series X|S, PS5, or Nintendo Switch 1.
- An account for the relevant storefront, such as Steam for Windows or the platform account used by your console.
- A final store listing for price, edition, system requirements, download size, and any pre-order conditions; those details are not supplied in the current platform announcement.
- A date check immediately before purchase, especially on PS5 because its store page currently shows September 3, 2027 while the developer announces March 9, 2027.
There is no need to buy a new console solely because the game is announced for current hardware if you already own one of the four named platforms. Conversely, owning an Xbox One, PS4, or Switch 2 is not enough to establish compatibility from the information currently available.
Common release-date mistakes to avoid
- Repeating the old 2026 Steam label: use the developer’s newer March 9, 2027 announcement when stating the current plan.
- Calling September 3 the universal launch date: that is the date displayed by the PS5 store listing, not a date confirmed across every platform.
- Calling March 9 final for every storefront: it is the developer-announced date, while the live PlayStation page currently shows another date.
- Expanding “Switch 1” to “Switch 2”: the FAQ does not make that extension.
- Assuming a physical cartridge, demo, or subscription entitlement: none of those is currently confirmed by the reviewed, up-to-date developer material.
