Eternal Anima is announced for Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Windows PC through Steam. Marvelous lists a worldwide launch date of March 4, 2027. Steam shows Steam Cloud, but no official listing or announcement confirms that a save can move between Switch 2, PS5, Xbox, and Steam. As of October 16, 2026, cross-platform saves and cross-progression remain unannounced.
Platforms and release date at a glance
Marvelous describes Eternal Anima as a worldwide release across four platform ecosystems. The publisher’s date is the reference point for the launch: March 4, 2027. A one-day difference appears on Steam, which currently displays March 3, 2027; that is likely a storefront timezone or display convention, but Marvelous has not announced an explanation.

The announcement covers current-generation systems only. It does not list the original Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, other PC storefronts, macOS, or Linux. Do not assume a version for any of those platforms unless Marvelous or the relevant storefront adds one.
Where you can play Eternal Anima
Nintendo Switch 2
Nintendo Switch 2 is one of the four confirmed platforms. The worldwide date supplied by Marvelous is March 4, 2027. A physical Standard Edition is planned for Switch 2, and the Limited Edition is also planned for this console. Those announcements establish the platform and editions, not the final cartridge format, download size, performance targets, or a separate Nintendo eShop release schedule.

If portability is your priority, Switch 2 is the only announced version designed around handheld play as well as television use. That makes it a practical choice for players who expect to move between locations, but portability does not imply that a save can later be opened on PS5, Xbox, or Steam.
PlayStation 5
PS5 is confirmed for the same worldwide launch date. The PlayStation Store listing gives a release time of March 4, 2027 at 05:00 UTC. That timestamp is more precise than a calendar date for players planning a midnight or regional launch, although local availability can still depend on the store region.
PlayStation’s listing identifies Eternal Anima as supporting offline play and one player. Those labels describe how the PS5 version behaves on that platform; they do not indicate cloud sharing with another console or with Steam. PS5 buyers can choose between the announced physical Standard Edition and Limited Edition, subject to regional stock and pricing.
Xbox Series X|S
Both Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S are included in the announcement under the Xbox Series X|S family. Marvelous gives them the March 4, 2027 worldwide date. A physical Standard Edition is announced for the Xbox family. The materials reviewed do not specify whether the physical package contains a Series X disc, a code, or region-specific packaging, so check the final retailer listing before ordering.

The announcement does not list Xbox One. Owning an older Xbox console therefore should not be treated as an entitlement to run the game unless a later compatibility announcement says so.
Windows PC through Steam
Steam is the confirmed PC distribution platform. Marvelous calls the PC version a Steam release and uses March 4, 2027 as the worldwide date. Steam’s store page currently shows March 3, 2027. Because the publisher repeats March 4 in both its game page and launch announcement, use March 4 when communicating the release; treat the Steam date as a storefront display difference rather than a separately announced PC launch.
The Steam page lists Steam Cloud. That feature normally synchronizes supported save data with a player’s Steam account so the same Steam game installation can recover progress on another authorized computer. It does not, by itself, create a shared save system with Nintendo, PlayStation, or Xbox. Steam Cloud also says nothing about a possible account-linking service operated by the publisher.

There is no confirmed cross-platform save or cross-progression feature in the official materials available as of October 16, 2026. Marvelous’s game page, its September 9, 2026 launch announcement, the Marvelous USA information, the Steam listing, the PlayStation Store listing, and the corporate announcement do not describe account linking, save transfer, shared progression, or a service that connects the four versions.

The careful conclusion is therefore not announced or confirmed, rather than “definitely unsupported.” A publisher can add a feature after an initial announcement, and only a direct Marvelous or XSEED statement would establish support or a denial. Until that happens, plan on each platform having its own progress.
What Steam Cloud does—and does not—tell you
Steam Cloud is evidence of cloud synchronization inside the Steam ecosystem. For example, it may let you uninstall the PC version, sign in to the same Steam account on another Windows computer, and retrieve synchronized data if the game supports the relevant files. The listing does not say that Steam Cloud can read a PS5, Xbox Series X|S, or Switch 2 save.
Cloud synchronization is also different from cross-buy. Even if a future service allowed one account to recognize progress everywhere, the announcement does not promise that buying one edition would grant another platform’s license. Treat ownership and save portability as separate questions.

“Offline play enabled” on PlayStation indicates that the game can be played without an online connection after the platform’s normal licensing checks. “One player” describes the supported player count. Neither label is a cross-save indicator, and the listing does not mention a transfer tool or shared account system.

Can you move a save between specific platforms?
Because no official transfer mechanism has been announced, the following are the safe assumptions for launch planning:

The Steam-to-Steam row is narrower than cross-platform play: it concerns the same Steam account and PC ecosystem. Before relying on it, allow the game to finish synchronizing, avoid deleting local files while a conflict prompt is unresolved, and verify that the destination computer is signed in to the same Steam account.

Marvelous has announced two physical editions. The Standard Edition costs €49.99 and is planned for PS5, Nintendo Switch 2, and Xbox Series X|S. The Limited Edition costs €79.99 and is planned for PS5 and Nintendo Switch 2 only.

These are the prices announced by Marvelous in euros, not a guarantee of the final amount in every country. Regional pricing, taxes, retailer stock, preorder timing, and shipping were not fixed in the announcement. Digital-edition details and preorder dates were to be shared later, so do not infer a digital price from the physical figures.

There is no announced physical PC edition in the materials reviewed; the confirmed PC listing is through Steam. If you want the Limited Edition extras, your announced choices are PS5 or Switch 2. If you want Xbox hardware, the announced physical choice is the Standard Edition.
Which version should you choose?
Choose Switch 2 if portability matters most
Switch 2 is the natural fit for playing away from a television and is the only announced platform with access to the Limited Edition alongside PS5. Choose it with the expectation that progress may remain tied to the Nintendo version unless a later cross-save announcement changes that position.
Choose PS5 for a console version with both physical editions
PS5 offers the Standard and Limited physical packages and has an explicit PlayStation Store launch time of 05:00 UTC on March 4, 2027. Its listing also confirms offline play and one-player support. It is a sensible choice if you want the Limited Edition but do not need handheld play.
Choose Xbox Series X|S for the Xbox ecosystem
Xbox Series X|S is confirmed and has a physical Standard Edition. The announcement does not describe a cross-save bridge to Steam or the other consoles, so select Xbox when your existing library, hardware, or controller setup makes that ecosystem preferable.
Choose Steam when PC access and Steam Cloud are priorities
Steam is the confirmed PC route and is the only listing that explicitly names Steam Cloud. That can help when moving between Windows computers on one Steam account. It should not be treated as evidence that a console save can be imported.
What to check before buying
- Confirm the platform. The announcement covers Switch 2, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam PC; it does not list older consoles or other PC storefronts.
- Use March 4, 2027 as the publisher’s date. If Steam displays March 3, compare the listing again near launch rather than assuming an earlier worldwide release.
- Decide whether you need portability or a physical edition. Limited Edition availability is announced only for PS5 and Switch 2; Xbox has the announced Standard Edition.
- Assume separate progress across ecosystems. Steam Cloud may synchronize Steam installations, but no official source confirms transfers among Steam, PS5, Xbox, and Switch 2.
- Recheck official announcements before release. A later Marvelous or XSEED update could add account linking, cross-progression, digital pricing, preorder dates, or platform support.
Bottom line on Eternal Anima platforms and saves
Eternal Anima is coming to Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam worldwide on March 4, 2027, according to Marvelous. The physical Standard Edition is announced for all three consoles, while the Limited Edition is PS5/Switch 2 only. Steam Cloud indicates PC cloud synchronization, not shared saves with consoles. As of October 16, 2026, cross-platform saves, cross-progression, account linking, and console-to-PC transfers have not been announced, so choose the platform on which you expect to play most often.
