For a first playthrough, start with Kingdom Hearts Final Mix and follow release order through the collection’s story entries. Play Kingdom Hearts III before its included Re Mind DLC. One important caveat: 358/2 Days, Re:coded and χ Back Cover are presented as cinematics or a movie in this collection, not as full playable games.
Recommended first-play order
This is a beginner-friendly release-order path through the connected stories, not a fictional-chronology order prescribed by the store listing. It lets the story unfold in the sequence the games and related entries were released.

The collection groups entries into three bundles: HD 1.5+2.5 ReMIX, HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue and Kingdom Hearts III + Re Mind. Square Enix describes HD 1.5+2.5 ReMIX as containing the first six stories, but those stories are not all presented as playable games. Square Enix’s collection page outlines the bundle components and describes Kingdom Hearts III as the culmination of the collection’s story.
What the collection includes—and what you actually play
The three bundles together cover the main first-play path, but the formats differ. A cinematic entry lets you follow a story; it does not provide the same playable experience as a full game.

What the story is about, without major spoilers
The series follows Sora and recurring companions across interconnected worlds and stories. The collection builds toward the conflict in Kingdom Hearts III, which Square Enix presents as the culmination of the package’s story. The official product descriptions establish the broad arc and bundle contents; they are not detailed plot synopses, so the order above is the most useful spoiler-light guide for a newcomer.

Start by checking what you already own and which exact version is available in your region. Collection names can refer to different bundles, formats and platform listings, so don’t assume every edition includes the same components.

Check the listing for current release status, territory and discount eligibility: Nintendo Switch 2 listing.
- Looking for a physical PS4 copy? Square Enix announced a 10-title European physical compilation called the All-In-One Package for release on June 12, 2025. That announcement does not establish current stock or availability outside that edition and region: Square Enix announcement.
