Vitals is described by its developer as a native macOS system monitor for Apple Silicon Macs, designed for people who want more detail than a few menu-bar graphs. Its feature list spans per-core CPU activity, GPU and Neural Engine use, sensor readings, processes, storage, networking, alerts and benchmarks. Those are developer-described capabilities, not independently verified measurements; the project’s exact repository and current system requirements are not established here.
What Vitals is intended to show
A developer post presents Vitals as a deeper inspection tool for Apple Silicon Macs. The developer describes it as built with Swift/AppKit and C++, without Electron, external dependencies, accounts or telemetry. The post says, “Everything runs natively on macOS.”

The developer’s feature list goes well beyond a basic CPU and memory display:
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →- Compute activity: CPU usage by performance and efficiency core, plus GPU and Neural Engine monitoring.
- Hardware sensors: SMC temperatures, power, voltages, currents and fan readings, as well as Apple Silicon cluster frequencies and power data.
- Processes: a process tree with CPU, memory, disk I/O, wakeups and energy impact.
- Storage and network: physical disk information, SMART data, disk-space analysis and monitoring by network interface.
- Health and testing: system health checks, alerts, and CPU, memory, disk and Metal GPU benchmarks.
- Ways to view data: configurable menu-bar monitors and floating desktop panels.
These descriptions come from the developer’s post and its linked project material; they do not establish that every feature is available in a current release or that readings have been independently checked. The post invites feedback from people using different Apple Silicon Macs, especially on sensor names, temperatures, power readings, disks and network interfaces.

How Vitals differs from a lightweight menu-bar monitor
The distinction is chiefly scope. A conventional menu-bar monitor can be enough when the goal is to glance at a few graphs. Vitals is presented as an option for examining more layers of system activity, from individual CPU cores and sensor readings to process-level energy impact, disk SMART data and network interfaces.
In the discussion, a reader asks how it is better than Stats and MenuMeters. The developer’s answer frames Vitals as the broader inspection tool, while acknowledging that Stats may suit someone who wants a simpler menu-bar view. That is the developer’s positioning, not an independent head-to-head comparison. Activity Monitor is also named as an alternative, but the available material does not provide controlled comparisons of features, accuracy, performance or battery impact.

- What's In The Box - Stand Body, Stand Base, Screws, Power Adapter, HDMI Cable, Quick Start Guide, Registration Card, Warranty.
Vitals is described with both menu-bar modules and floating panels, rather than only a conventional monitoring window. Whether that presentation is useful depends on whether you want persistent at-a-glance indicators, a more detailed inspection, or both.
What to verify before installing it
The developer describes Vitals as free and open source. The same post said its public build was not notarized at the time it was written. Notarization and distribution can change, so check the matching project’s current release information and macOS security prompts before deciding whether to install it.

The exact repository and author for the app implied by the title have not been confirmed, nor have its current download channel, license, latest release, minimum macOS version or supported Apple Silicon generations. Do not assume that details from another app also named Vitals apply. The material also does not establish Intel Mac support.
These distinctions matter because similarly named projects describe different apps. One separate Vitals project describes temperature, fan-speed and battery-health readings and identifies SwiftUI, IOKit/SMC, Homebrew and DMG distribution, and GPL-3.0 licensing. Another repository describes a menu-bar tool focused on CPU, memory, memory pressure and quitting apps, with a macOS 26-or-later requirement. Neither project has been confirmed as the app discussed here, so their features and requirements should not be attributed to it.

Who should consider Vitals?
If you use an Apple Silicon Mac and want to inspect more than a handful of menu-bar graphs, the developer’s feature list makes Vitals worth investigating—particularly if you care about per-core activity, sensors, process details, storage health or network interfaces. If you only need a few simple indicators, a lighter menu-bar monitor may be sufficient. Treat the listed capabilities as claims to confirm against the current release, not as independently tested results.
