What Is Swippitt? The “Instant” Phone Charger Is Really a Battery-Swapping System

Swippitt does not recharge a phone from empty in two seconds. It swaps the depleted battery in a compatible case for a charged one, so the phone can keep running with little interruption. The system combines a phone-specific battery case, a countertop hub that stores and charges spare batteries, and an app. It is a distinctive fixed-location convenience, not a universal fast charger.

What Swippitt is—and what it is not

Swippitt is a battery-swapping ecosystem. Its three parts are the Link, a model-specific phone case with an integrated battery; the Hub, a countertop station that charges and exchanges Link batteries; and an app for battery monitoring, notifications, charging preferences, and household or group management. The company describes the system on its How It Works page, while CES lists it as a mobile-device accessory.

  • Link: supplies power to the phone while attached. It is not a universal battery that fits any handset.
  • Hub: stores and charges up to five Link batteries and performs the exchange. A bare phone cannot use it.
  • App: provides monitoring and management features; it does not replace the Hub or Link.

That distinction matters: “instant” describes the battery exchange, not the time required to electrically charge the phone’s internal battery.

How the two-second swap works

Swippitt says the mechanical exchange takes about two seconds. The company and CES use that figure to describe replacing the Link battery, not charging a phone from empty to full.

  • Compact size does not occupy socket. Built-in cable means that there are NO LOOSE connections. Always charge FULLY the whole time when it plugged in. The 5 feet extra long cable has been reinforced at stress points to avoid fraying or connection problems.
  • What You Get: 5 feet (1.5 meters) extra long built-in cable wall charger direct ac adapter. The extra-long cable allows you to charge more freely.
  1. Attach the Link case made for your exact phone model.
  2. Insert the phone and case into the Hub.
  3. The Hub removes the depleted Link battery and installs a charged one.
  4. Take the phone out and continue using it while the new Link battery supplies power.

The phone’s built-in battery is not magically restored during the swap. How much the Link adds to the phone’s usable charge depends on the phone, its current battery level, power management, heat, and conversion losses. No single percentage increase is established for every model and situation.

What the Link and Hub provide

The Link battery

Swippitt’s current product information lists the Link at 3,500 mAh. Earlier coverage reported 3,300 mAh, so those figures should not be treated as a settled, independently verified specification. A milliamp-hour rating alone also does not tell you how much extra runtime a particular phone will get. The Link monitors usage and manages power through connected software, according to the company.

The Link is a phone-specific case and battery module. Confirm the precise phone size and case version before buying: support for a model family does not necessarily establish that every size or camera configuration has a matching Link.

The Hub and its battery inventory

The Hub is designed to hold up to five batteries. Swippitt says there is no fixed user limit, but five stored batteries are a practical inventory limit: if people use charged batteries faster than the Hub can replenish them, the next swap may not be immediate. That makes a shared Hub most plausible for a household, office, or other fixed location—not an unlimited supply for a large group.

The company lists the Hub at about 2.25 kg. Its published dimensions are inconsistent: one product listing gives approximately 335.6 × 142 × 169.7 mm, while another published specification gives approximately 335.6 × 288.7 × 172.5 mm. Treat it as a substantial countertop appliance and check the current product specification if the exact footprint matters.

The Hub itself needs electrical power to recharge its batteries. Swippitt says stored batteries retain their charge if power to the Hub is lost, but the Hub cannot replenish them indefinitely without power restored. The company also says a Link can be charged with a conventional charger away from the Hub, with the phone receiving priority.

Which phones are supported?

As of August 2026, Swippitt’s current compatibility messaging names the iPhone 15, 16, and 17 ranges, and says Android and additional models are forthcoming. Earlier launch material focused on iPhone 14, 15, and 16 models; those historical claims are not the current list. Check Swippitt’s current compatibility information for the exact model and case before committing. Android users and owners of other phones should not assume compatibility.

Availability and price

Swippitt’s current official site directs visitors to a waitlist rather than a standard retail checkout, so broad ordinary availability and current pricing are not established. The company says a limited release in January 2025 sold out and that thousands signed up for a subsequent release; that is the company’s account, not confirmation of current stock.

The January 2025 launch announcement listed the Hub starting at $450 and a Link at $120—$570 for one Hub and one Link before any launch-period promotion. Those are historical launch prices, not verified current prices. A multi-phone household may need additional Links. The announcement anticipated shipping in June 2025, but that historical expectation is not proof of current delivery timing.

What Swippitt can—and cannot—solve

Where it has an advantage

  • Minimal interruption at a fixed location: a charged Link can be swapped in about two seconds, according to Swippitt.
  • No cable during the exchange: the phone stays in its case while the Hub changes the battery module.
  • Shared use: a household or team can draw from the Hub’s stored battery inventory, provided compatible Links are available.
  • Several batteries on hand: the Hub is designed to store and charge up to five at once.

Where it falls short

  • It is not portable charging: away from the Hub, you still need another solution, such as a wall charger, cable, power bank, or magnetic battery.
  • It depends on proprietary hardware: the Hub works with compatible Link cases, not arbitrary phones or batteries. Replacing a phone may require a different Link.
  • The inventory can run out: once available batteries are depleted or waiting to recharge, the instant-swap benefit pauses.
  • It adds hardware and bulk: the Hub is a countertop appliance, and a battery case adds size and weight to the phone.
  • Availability is uncertain: the current official site presents a waitlist, not a normal retail purchase flow.

Swippitt also promotes intelligent power management and says the system can help extend phone-battery life. Its January 2025 announcement used a “double the lifespan” claim, but that should be treated as marketing, not an independently established outcome for every user. Battery health depends on factors including temperature, charge cycles, charging thresholds, workload, and the phone’s own battery-management system.

Wireless charging is another point to verify rather than assume. A January 2025 report said the Link case did not support Qi charging. Check current production documentation if Qi, Qi2, or MagSafe compatibility is important; the battery-swap system does not by itself establish support for those standards.

How it compares with other ways to add phone power

Option What happens when the phone is low Portability and device fit Cost or dependency
Swippitt Hub swaps in a charged Link battery in about two seconds, according to the company. Best at a fixed location; requires a compatible Link case and Hub. Historical January 2025 launch price: $450 Hub plus $120 Link; current price not established.
USB-C power bank Charges the phone while connected, usually with a cable. Portable and broadly useful across USB-C devices. Does not require a phone-specific case or fixed Hub.
Qi2/MagSafe-compatible magnetic battery Attaches to the phone and supplies external power; it does not swap batteries. Portable and oriented mainly toward compatible iPhones. Anker’s U.S. site listed its MagGo Power Bank 10K at $89.99 during the cited pricing check; the listing specifies 10,000 mAh, Qi2, USB-C, and up to 15 W wireless output. Price and availability can change.
Battery case A built-in case battery supplies power and is recharged conventionally. Portable, but specific to phone models; mophie maintains a Juice Pack collection. No shared Hub or instant exchange; a current price for a specific Juice Pack model is not stated on the cited collection page.
Wired USB-C charger Charges the phone from an outlet while plugged in. Broadly compatible where an outlet is available, but the phone is tethered. No proprietary battery inventory or case required.

For a portable magnetic alternative, Anker’s MagGo Power Bank 10K listing gives the cited U.S. price and specifications. For a conventional battery-case option, see mophie’s Juice Pack collection. Neither reproduces Swippitt’s battery exchange, but both avoid the same fixed Hub-and-Link setup.

Who should consider Swippitt?

Swippitt is a niche fit for someone with a supported iPhone who often needs power at home or work, values resuming use immediately, and is comfortable with a relatively expensive proprietary system. Its shared-battery idea is more compelling for a small group with compatible phones than for a solo user who mostly needs power on the move.

For most people, a USB-C power bank is the more flexible and broadly compatible option; a Qi2/MagSafe battery is a more portable cable-free choice for compatible iPhones. Swippitt’s core promise is narrower: keep charged case batteries at a fixed hub and swap one in quickly when needed.
