It adds a Super Stream quest area, new stage music, cousins and costume items, and requires the base game. The add-on launched on October 8, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC via Steam, Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch.
Rolling LIVE Highlights at a glance
The downloadable content takes its theme from the mobile game Katamari Damacy Rolling LIVE. Bandai Namco describes it as new quests and music inspired by that title. The word “inspired” matters: Bandai Namco Europe cautions that some content may differ from the 2025 mobile game, so this is not a direct port or a promise that every mobile feature appears in Once Upon A KATAMARI.

What content does the DLC include?
Ten quests in the Super Stream plaza
The main playable addition is a set of 10 quests grouped in a new in-game select plaza called Super Stream. The official materials identify the number of quests and their location, but do not publish individual quest names, objectives, stage layouts, unlock conditions or completion rewards. Expect to access them from within the base game rather than from a separate application.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Because the quests are delivered as downloadable content, you need the game installed on the same platform account that owns the add-on. The listing does not establish that the quests can be launched without first installing Once Upon A KATAMARI.
Twelve Katamari BGM tracks
The package adds 12 background-music tracks from the Katamari series for stage gameplay. “BGM” refers to the music used while playing stages; the listing does not claim that these tracks are a standalone soundtrack, a digital album or newly recorded versions of every song. Availability of a particular track in a given mode should be checked in the game after the add-on is installed, because the announcement does not provide a mode-by-mode breakdown.
Six new cousins
Six cousins are included as additional Katamari characters. Nintendo’s product description counts them as part of the DLC, but does not specify their names, visual designs, statistics, abilities or whether each cousin is available immediately. Treat “six” as the confirmed roster addition, not as a guarantee of six new gameplay powers.
Eighteen costume items
The add-on also supplies 18 costume items. These are listed separately from the cousins, so the count should not be read as 18 complete outfits or 18 additional characters. The official listing does not detail item slots, bonuses, unlock requirements or whether every item can be used by every cousin.
How it relates to Katamari Damacy Rolling LIVE
The theme comes from Katamari Damacy Rolling LIVE, a mobile title built around live-streaming imagery. Bandai Namco Entertainment America says the DLC adds quests and music inspired by the mobile game. Bandai Namco Europe adds a specific qualification: some content may differ from Katamari Damacy Rolling LIVE (2025).

That qualification resolves the most common misunderstanding. Buying Rolling LIVE Highlights does not mean you are buying the mobile game on another platform, receiving a one-to-one conversion of its missions, or getting every mobile event and feature. It is new content made for Once Upon A KATAMARI that uses the mobile game’s concept as inspiration. If you played the mobile release, recognize the theme as a connection rather than a compatibility promise.
Release date and supported platforms
The publisher announced availability for October 8, 2026. The supported platforms named in the announcement are:
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
- PlayStation 5
- Xbox Series X|S
- PC through Steam
- Nintendo Switch 2
- Nintendo Switch
Platform support means the add-on is offered for those versions of the game; it does not automatically mean that one purchase licenses the DLC across PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo and Steam. Digital entitlements are normally tied to the storefront account and platform where you buy them, so select the edition that matches the system on which you own the base game.
Does it require Once Upon A KATAMARI?
Yes. Nintendo’s product listing states that the DLC requires Once Upon A KATAMARI. Xbox explicitly says the base game is sold separately. Rolling LIVE Highlights therefore is not a playable standalone product: purchasing its store listing alone does not provide the main game needed to launch the quests.
If you already own the base game digitally or on a compatible physical release, buy the matching DLC listing for your platform. If you do not own it, compare the bundle editions described below; a bundle can be simpler than buying the game and add-on separately, provided its price and included extras suit you.

- Flawless 4K@60Hz Video with HDMI: Delivers exceptional clarity and smoothness with its 4K@60Hz HDMI port, making it ideal for high-definition presentations and entertainment. (Note: Only the HDMI port supports video projection; the USB-C port is for data transfer only.)
- Double Up on Efficiency: The two USB-A 3.0 ports and a USB-C port support a fast 5Gbps data rate, significantly boosting your transfer speeds and improving productivity.
- Fast and Reliable 85W Charging: Offers high-capacity, speedy charging for laptops up to 85W, so you spend less time tethered to an outlet and more time being productive.

Separate DLC versus bundled editions
Bandai Namco lists Rolling LIVE Highlights as a separate purchase, and also sells packages that combine it with the base game. The names are important because the packages do not contain the same amount of content.
| Purchase path | Includes | Best fit |
|---|---|---|
| Rolling LIVE Highlights DLC | The add-on only; the base game is required | Players who already own Once Upon A KATAMARI on the same platform |
| Rolling LIVE Highlights Edition | The base game plus Rolling LIVE Highlights | New players who want the main game and this expansion together |
| Royal Sound Edition | The base game, Rolling LIVE Highlights and additional music DLC packs | Players who also want the separately identified music expansions |
Nintendo also lists a Switch 2 edition containing the base game and Rolling LIVE Highlights. Edition names and availability can vary by platform storefront. Read the “included content” panel before paying, especially if you already own the game or another music pack.
Price and regional availability
When checked, the US PlayStation Store and Xbox Store listings each displayed $11.99 for the standalone DLC. This is a storefront snapshot, not a guaranteed permanent price. Digital prices can change, and the amount may differ in another country, currency, tax jurisdiction, platform store or promotion.
The available official material does not establish a single worldwide price for Steam or Nintendo, nor does it establish a recurring subscription charge. Check the store for your account’s region and confirm whether the displayed product is the DLC-only listing or an edition that includes the base game.
How to buy and install the correct version
- Identify your platform. Confirm whether you play on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Steam, Switch 2 or Switch.
- Check base-game ownership. If Once Upon A KATAMARI is already in your library on that platform, a DLC-only listing is usually the relevant product. If not, look at the Rolling LIVE Highlights Edition or another package that explicitly includes the base game.
- Open the platform’s official storefront. Search for “Rolling LIVE Highlights” and verify that the product page names Once Upon A KATAMARI, your platform and the included-content list.
- Compare editions before checkout. Look for the words “DLC,” “Rolling LIVE Highlights Edition” or “Royal Sound Edition.” Confirm whether additional music DLC is included and whether the base game is present.
- Purchase and download. Complete the transaction with the account that owns the game, then install the add-on from your library or the product page.
- Launch the base game. The new content should be accessed inside Once Upon A KATAMARI, including the Super Stream select plaza. If the game does not recognize it, verify that the DLC and base game are installed for the same account and platform region.
Store menus differ between systems and can change over time, so use the current labels shown on your platform rather than relying on an old screenshot or a listing for a different edition.

Common buying mistakes and how to avoid them
Buying the add-on without the game
The DLC listing can look like a complete product in a search result, but it does not replace the base game. Check your library first or choose an edition that explicitly contains both products.
Purchasing the wrong platform version
A PlayStation purchase, Xbox purchase, Nintendo purchase and Steam purchase are separate storefront transactions. Make sure the DLC platform matches the copy of Once Upon A KATAMARI you intend to play.
Paying twice for bundled content
If you own the base game and buy the Rolling LIVE Highlights Edition, you may be paying for another copy of the game. Conversely, if you buy an edition that already includes Rolling LIVE Highlights and then purchase the DLC separately, the second transaction may duplicate content. Read the edition’s itemized description before checkout.
Assuming the mobile game is included
The add-on is inspired by Katamari Damacy Rolling LIVE; it is not advertised as a copy of that mobile title. Do not use mobile-game features, missions or availability as a checklist for what must appear in the console and PC DLC.

Expecting a fixed price
The observed $11.99 US listings are useful for a point-in-time comparison, but they are not a universal or permanent MSRP. Your store may show a different amount because of currency conversion, taxes, regional pricing or a sale.

Who should buy Rolling LIVE Highlights?
It makes sense for existing players who want more content
If you already enjoy Once Upon A KATAMARI and want additional objectives, music and customization options, the package’s value is concentrated in its new quests and collection items. The Super Stream plaza gives those additions a dedicated place in the game’s menus.
It is less suitable as a first purchase
Someone without the base game should compare the combined edition rather than buying the add-on alone. The DLC cannot serve as an introduction by itself because the underlying game is required.
Mobile fans should buy with realistic expectations
The live-streaming theme may appeal to players familiar with the mobile release, but the publisher’s difference notice means the experience should be judged as an expansion for Once Upon A KATAMARI, not as a platform conversion.
What the official information does not specify
The announcements establish the package’s category counts, platforms, requirement and edition relationships. They do not publish the individual quest list, the names or abilities of the cousins, the appearance and function of each costume item, detailed music track titles, save-transfer rules, cross-platform entitlement, or a permanent worldwide price. Those details should not be inferred from the headline counts.
For a purchase decision, the confirmed facts are enough to distinguish the DLC from a standalone game and to choose between the add-on and bundles. For deeper questions about unlock timing or in-game effects, consult the current platform listing and the game’s own menus after installation, because those specifics are not included in the publisher’s announcement.
