The safest sequence is to inspect the file, scan it, quarantine or remove it when appropriate, then repair or uninstall the parent application through Windows. Do not download a replacement executable from a random DLL or “fix” website.

What Mobizen officially supports
Mobizen’s official installation material says, “Mobizen allows you to record, capture, edit and share your mobile devices screen.” The same material currently directs users to Google Play and describes Mobizen as available for Android devices. Its requirements information specifies Android 4.4 or later.

That documentation does not describe a Windows executable called mobizen.exe, nor does it publish a canonical Windows installation folder, signer, version number or file hash for one. A Windows process with that name could be a leftover from software you installed, a component of an unrelated application using a similar name, or an unwanted program attempting to appear legitimate. The name by itself does not distinguish those cases.

On Android, Google Play lists “Mobizen Recorder for Samsung” as a screen-recording application. The listing shown in the available information was updated on January 29, 2024, and its data-safety disclosures may include location and personal information. Those Android details do not validate an executable found on a Windows PC.
Is mobizen.exe safe?
There is no safe-or-dangerous verdict that can be made from the filename alone. Microsoft defines malware as malicious software and recommends obtaining software only from trusted sources, keeping antivirus protection current and running a full Microsoft Defender scan. An unsigned or unexpectedly located file is a reason for caution, but it is not, by itself, proof that the file is malicious.
Check how the file started
- When Task Manager or a security alert names
mobizen.exe, right-click the process and choose Open file location. If the alert has a file-location link, use that instead. - In File Explorer, right-click the executable, choose Properties, and open Digital Signatures. Record the signer name and whether Windows reports that the signature is valid.
- Check the parent application in Settings > Apps > Installed apps. Look for software you knowingly installed at about the time the file appeared. A familiar publisher, a coherent installation path and a valid signature provide useful provenance; none is an absolute guarantee.
Do not assume that a particular folder is legitimate. No authoritative Windows path for a genuine Mobizen executable is documented in the available official material, so a path such as a user profile, temporary directory or system folder must be judged together with the publisher and scan result.

Scan before allowing or restoring anything
- Open Windows Security from the Start menu.
- Select Virus & threat protection, install any available security-intelligence updates, and choose Scan options.
- Select Full scan and start it. A full scan checks the files and running areas Microsoft Defender covers; the duration depends on the amount of data and the speed of the PC.
- If unwanted software persists or returns, use Microsoft Defender Offline scan from the same scan-options screen. Windows restarts and scans before the normal desktop loads, which can prevent a persistent process from hiding.
If Defender detects the file, its available actions can include removing it, quarantining it or allowing it. Quarantine moves the file to a safer location and blocks it from running. Allow a file only when you trust both the software and its publisher and have confirmed that the detection is a false positive. Run a fresh scan before restoring anything you previously quarantined.

How to fix mobizen.exe errors in Windows
The correct repair depends on whether a known application owns the file and whether Defender has found a threat. Follow these steps in order so that reversible actions happen before removal.
1. Restart Windows
Save your work and choose Start > Power > Restart. A restart can clear a one-time locked-file or startup error and shows whether the message returns consistently. If the alert returns immediately, continue rather than repeatedly launching the executable.

2. Identify the associated application
Use Task Manager’s Open file location command and the file’s Properties window. Then open Settings > Apps > Installed apps and search for the application that installed the file. If you cannot associate it with software you selected, treat the executable as suspicious and complete the Defender steps before deleting anything.

3. Repair the application
- Open Start > Settings > Apps > Installed apps.
- Find the associated application, select its three-dot menu, and choose Advanced options when that option is offered.
- Select Repair. Windows attempts to correct the installation without removing the application’s data.
- Restart Windows and check whether the error has stopped.
Not every desktop program exposes Repair. If the button is absent, proceed to Reset or Uninstall rather than downloading an executable from an unofficial site.
4. Reset when Repair does not work
In the same Advanced options page, choose Reset if available. Reset reinstalls or reinitializes the app according to Windows’ app-management behavior and can remove its local data. Back up any data the application stores locally before using it. Restart and test once more.

5. Uninstall the parent application
- Go to Start > Settings > Apps > Installed apps.
- Select the application associated with
mobizen.exe, choose the three-dot menu and select Uninstall. - Complete the application’s own removal wizard if Windows opens one.
- Restart, then run a full Microsoft Defender scan.
If you do not recognize the parent application, removal is generally safer than trying to preserve an unidentified executable, but scan first when possible. Do not restore a quarantined file simply because an application reports that it is missing.
6. Use Microsoft’s install-and-uninstall troubleshooter if removal is blocked
Microsoft provides a Program Install and Uninstall troubleshooter for cases such as incomplete uninstall information and corrupted registry keys. Download it only from Microsoft Support, run it, choose whether you are having trouble installing or uninstalling, and select the affected program when it appears. Follow the prompts, restart Windows and scan again. This tool addresses installation metadata; it is not a malware scanner.

If the message returns after an uninstall or restart, repeat the Defender full scan and use Offline scan if needed. Recheck Task Manager to see whether the file location has changed and whether a different parent process is recreating it. Remove the responsible application through Windows rather than deleting random files from system directories. If a work or school computer is involved, provide the detection name, path and signer information to the administrator instead of overriding policy.
8. Handle a missing-file message after legitimate removal
Sometimes an application or startup entry continues to refer to a file that has already been removed. First uninstall the parent application through Settings > Apps > Installed apps. If the uninstall entry is damaged, run Microsoft’s Program Install and Uninstall troubleshooter. Avoid downloading a standalone mobizen.exe to silence the message: replacing an unknown executable can reintroduce the original risk.
When the problem is on an Android phone, not Windows
Mobizen’s official material is Android-focused, so a Mobizen notification on a Samsung phone is a different troubleshooting case from a Windows executable. On Samsung devices, open Settings > Device care and use its diagnostic or security checks. To remove a suspicious third-party app, go to Settings > Apps, select the app and choose Uninstall when available.
Samsung’s guidance also recommends avoiding unknown app sources and using Auto Blocker where the device offers it. If you suspect a third-party app is causing the behavior, restart into Safe mode; Safe mode disables third-party apps, allowing you to see whether the symptom disappears. Remove recently installed or untrusted apps after returning to normal mode, then run the phone’s available security checks. These Android steps do not repair a Windows file named mobizen.exe.

- Do not trust the name “mobizen.exe” as proof of authenticity.
- Do not download a replacement executable from random DLL, driver or “error fix” sites.
- Do not allow a Defender detection merely because an application says the file is required.
- Do not delete files from Windows system folders before identifying the parent application and scanning the computer.
- Do not assume that a clean scan proves the file is an official Mobizen component; the Windows component is not documented by Mobizen’s cited support pages.

A Windows file called mobizen.exe is not verified as an official Mobizen component by the product’s Android-oriented documentation. If the file persists, investigate what recreates it and use Defender Offline rather than downloading a replacement executable.
