Into the Wind is an upcoming open-world delivery adventure from Bloom & Gloom Games, published by Three Friends. Its reported blend of island exploration, cargo runs and aerial combat has drawn two different comparisons: a Ghibli-like visual tone and delivery gameplay reminiscent of Death Stranding. Those are press comparisons, not evidence of an official connection to Studio Ghibli or a confirmed creative influence.
What is Into the Wind?
Into the Wind is an open-world action adventure built around delivering cargo across the islands of Santa Rosa. You take over your missing uncle’s delivery service, and the work also gives you a way to meet residents and investigate what happened to him. He was last seen entering a strange cloud.

Ghibli is an aesthetic comparison
GamesRadar uses “Ghibli-like” to describe the game’s look and feel, and invokes Kiki’s Delivery Service as a tonal analogy. That is a journalistic shorthand for its apparent atmosphere, not a claim that Studio Ghibli made, licensed, endorsed or officially inspired the game. GamesRadar’s report

Death Stranding is a gameplay comparison
PC Gamer compares the delivery portions to Death Stranding, while suggesting Into the Wind appears less simulation-heavy. The useful point of comparison is carrying cargo and planning deliveries—not proof of a direct influence, shared creative team or identical mechanics. PC Gamer’s report
How do deliveries work?
Deliveries involve managing what you carry and how you travel, rather than simply following a marker from one destination to another. GamesRadar reports that cargo types affect driving and flying, and that heavier loads can make flight harder. Some jobs involve unusual or dangerous cargo, including a live swordfish or a mine.
Pirates can threaten some routes. A heavily loaded player may choose a longer path to avoid them, while carrying less can leave room for aerial combat. More challenging deliveries pay more, according to Robin from Bloom & Gloom Games during a gameplay demo as quoted by GamesRadar; the report does not provide Robin’s full name or role. Delivery earnings can help open opportunities to find parts for Ermes, the motorcycle-plane, or for the player’s base. That ties the delivery loop to vehicle and base progression, alongside exploration and encounters with residents. The available reports do not provide a hands-on assessment or measured comparison of how much time the game devotes to delivery, combat or exploration.
