The Complete Edition brings together the original DYNASTY WARRIORS 3 and DYNASTY WARRIORS 3: Xtreme Legends. KOEI TECMO says the remaster includes all content from both titles, alongside refined graphics and controls, new features, and new scenarios. The original DYNASTY WARRIORS 3
The base game is a Three Kingdoms action game with more than 40 returning officers and numerous battlefields, according to the publisher. KOEI TECMO highlights the original as the series’ first game to feature True Musou Attacks, simultaneous two-player play, and an officer development system.
Xtreme Legends expansion
The expansion contributes additional stories for seven officers, including Lu Bu, Meng Huo, and Yuan Shao. It also adds bodyguard customization, new weapons, and four types of challenge mode.

What is new or changed in the remaster?
KOEI TECMO describes the remaster as having refined graphics and controls, new scenarios, and new or revised mechanics. Its official materials name Ziluan, the protagonist of DYNASTY WARRIORS: ORIGINS, as an addition alongside the returning roster. The publisher also says some officers can be unlocked in new scenarios by meeting specific conditions; it does not specify those conditions in the cited announcement.
New combat and weapon systems
- Evasion: Dodge or briefly withdraw from the battlefield. A perfectly timed Evasion triggers a Just Evasion counterattack.
- Perfect Power Guard: Deflect attacks to create an opening for a counterattack.
- Weapon Fusion: Consume unwanted weapons to transfer their elemental attributes and skills to another weapon.
These features can be toggled individually. Normal Settings apply the publisher’s recommended remaster configuration; Classic Settings aim for an experience closer to the original. The feature descriptions and settings are detailed in the launch announcement.
Can two people play together?
Yes. Offline split-screen co-op or versus play is available for two players in Musou Mode, Free Mode, and VS Mode, according to KOEI TECMO’s launch announcement. Nintendo’s US Switch 2 listing also identifies single-system play for one to two players.
KOEI TECMO announced online two-player co-op as a post-launch update, but the cited announcement did not give a release date or confirm that it had shipped. Check the current game or storefront notices if online co-op is important to your purchase decision.

What does the Digital Deluxe Edition add?
The Digital Deluxe Edition includes the base game plus these extras. The 42-costume and 42-weapon quantities are the publisher’s listed bonuses, not the total costume or weapon count in the game.

Steam says the art collection is viewed in the in-game database rather than downloaded as a separate file, and the producer comments are in Japanese only. Some Deluxe items can also be obtained during play. Steam also lists a separate Deluxe upgrade containing only the additional content; if you already own the base game, check that you are buying the upgrade rather than another base-game copy. KOEI TECMO America lists the game for PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series X|S, and Windows PC via Steam, and marks it “Available Now.” Release dates, prices, edition names, languages, and store availability can vary by region. The Nintendo information below refers specifically to the US Switch 2 listing.

- Switch 2 languages: Japanese, Korean, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, and American English are listed.
- Switch 2 demo saves: Demo save data does not carry over to the full release, and some demo elements may differ.
