An analyzed sample received a Malicious activity verdict, so an unexpected copy should be treated as unsafe until you verify its exact path, signature and cryptographic hash. The filename alone is not proof that every copy is identical.
What glp_installer_900207229_market.exe appears to be
The filename appears in ANY.RUN sandbox reports involving GameLoop/Tencent installation components. The reports also mention related processes such as AppMarket.exe, QMEmulatorService.exe, Tinst.exe, Market.exe, GameDownload.exe and TBSWebRenderer.exe.

That association does not establish a current, official installer mapping. A filename can be copied, renamed or placed in a different program, so do not identify a file solely by its name or by the fact that GameLoop is installed on the computer.

Is the file safe?
The strongest published warning concerns one sample analyzed by ANY.RUN on July 11, 2020. The report classified that sample as Malicious activity and described it as a loader. Observed behavior included downloading executable files, changing system certificates, creating a firewall rule through NETSH.EXE, writing into Windows and program directories, and behavior marked as looking like personal-data theft.
A second 2020 report showed the sample executing from an Internet Explorer temporary-cache path and loading dropped executables. Running from a cache directory is not automatically malicious—legitimate downloads can be cached—but it is a significant reason to stop and verify an unexpected copy rather than launching it.
ANY.RUN does not guarantee maliciousness or safety of the content.

That disclaimer matters. The reports are evidence about the analyzed bytes and their behavior, not proof that every file bearing the same name is the same file. A file downloaded from a source you do not recognize, lacking a valid publisher signature, or exhibiting the behaviors above deserves a high-risk treatment even if its name looks familiar.

Hashes reported for the analyzed sample
Use these values as comparison points only. A matching hash means the bytes match the reported sample; a different hash means you are looking at different bytes and need a separate trust decision.

Verify the copy before you run it
1. Record the full path and basic properties
- In File Explorer, right-click the file and choose Properties.
- On the General tab, record the complete location, size and modified date. Expand the location field or use Copy as path so you do not omit a folder.
- On the Details tab, record the product name, company, original filename and version information, if present. Metadata is not a security guarantee, because it can be forged or missing.
- Do not open the file while collecting this information. If Explorer displays an Unblock checkbox, leave it unchanged until verification is complete.
A copy in an expected, deliberately installed program directory is easier to explain than one in a browser cache, temporary folder, user download directory or an unfamiliar Windows subfolder. Location alone is never sufficient to declare a file safe.
2. Check the Authenticode signature
In Properties, open Digital Signatures, select a signature and choose Details. A valid signature should show that Windows can verify the signing chain and identify a publisher that matches the software you intentionally installed. A missing, invalid or unexpected signature increases risk. The available reports do not establish which publisher, certificate or signature should be expected for a current GameLoop release, so do not treat a displayed company name as conclusive.
You can also inspect the signature in PowerShell without launching the executable:

Get-AuthenticodeSignature -LiteralPath "C:fullpathglp_installer_900207229_market.exe" | Format-List Status,SignerCertificate
Run PowerShell as a normal user for this read-only check. Do not bypass a warning by selecting options that force an unsigned program to run.
3. Calculate the hashes
In PowerShell, substitute the actual path and run:
Get-FileHash -LiteralPath "C:fullpathglp_installer_900207229_market.exe" -Algorithm SHA256
Get-FileHash -LiteralPath "C:fullpathglp_installer_900207229_market.exe" -Algorithm SHA1
Compare the output character by character with the two reported values. A match to the SHA-256 or SHA-1 value identifies the analyzed sample, which is a reason not to execute it. A nonmatching value does not certify safety; obtain a trusted hash from the software publisher or another source you independently trust before making a decision.
What to do if you have not run the file
- Do not double-click it. Cancel any installer prompt and do not approve an elevation request.
- Preserve identifying information. Save the path, properties, signature result and hashes in a text note. If another security team will examine the file, do not rename or modify it.
- Submit it to your trusted security software for analysis. Use the product’s quarantine or scan action rather than opening the executable. A scan result is evidence, not an absolute guarantee.
- Remove the download after evidence is preserved. If the file is in a browser cache or Downloads folder and no investigation is required, quarantine it first and then empty the relevant cache or recycle bin according to your security software’s procedure.
- Check whether it arrived with an unwanted installer. Review Settings > Apps > Installed apps (or Control Panel > Programs and Features) for software installed at the same time. Do not assume that deleting one executable repairs every component.
If you intentionally installed GameLoop, obtain a fresh installer only from a source you can verify independently. The 2020 reports do not establish a current official download URL or a current filename-to-release relationship, so an installer that merely has a familiar name should not be trusted on that basis.
What to do if the file already ran
Contain the computer
- Stop using the affected computer for banking, password changes and other sensitive activity until it has been checked.
- When practical, disconnect it from networks: turn off Wi-Fi in Settings > Network & internet, enable Airplane mode, or unplug Ethernet. If the computer is managed by an employer or school, follow its incident process before disconnecting.
- Do not reconnect external drives or share folders unnecessarily. If you must preserve personal files, copy only files you have checked and do not copy executable files, scripts or installers.
Scan without relying on a normal desktop session
Run a trusted, fully updated antivirus product’s full scan. If the product provides an offline or pre-boot scan, use that option so suspicious processes are less able to interfere. Allow the product to quarantine detections, save the scan report and restart when requested. A clean result does not prove that no change occurred, particularly when the file downloaded other executables or altered certificates and firewall settings.

Review the changes described in the report
- Certificates: Open the Windows certificate-management tools and review recently added or unfamiliar certificates in the local computer and current-user stores. Do not delete a certificate solely because its name looks unfamiliar; record it and confirm its origin first.
- Firewall rules: Open Windows Defender Firewall with Advanced Security and inspect newly created inbound and outbound rules. Look for rules that point to unfamiliar executables or permit unexpected network access. Export or record a rule before removing it so an administrator can restore legitimate settings.
- Installed programs and services: Review recently installed GameLoop/Tencent components, startup entries and services. The report’s process names can help you recognize related components, but their presence alone does not prove compromise because legitimate installations may use them.
- System directories: Look for files created at the same time in Windows and program directories. Do not manually delete files from protected directories while Windows is running unless a trusted security tool or administrator has identified them.
Fixing the Windows error after safety checks
The filename can appear in several different situations: Windows may say the file is missing, access may be denied, the process may crash, or an installer may repeatedly return after removal. The correct response depends on whether the file is trusted and whether it actually ran.
“File not found” or a broken shortcut
If a shortcut or uninstall entry points to a file that you have quarantined, the message is a consequence of removal rather than proof that the file should be restored. Remove the stale shortcut, then uninstall the associated program from Settings > Apps > Installed apps. Restart Windows and check whether the message returns. Do not download a replacement executable from a random “DLL” or software-download site.
“Access denied,” SmartScreen or a blocked launch
Do not disable SmartScreen, User Account Control or antivirus protection merely to force this executable to run. Capture the full warning, verify the signature and hash, and submit the file to your security product. If you own the computer and have independently verified a legitimate installer, download a clean copy from a trusted source instead of overriding a protection prompt on the questionable file.
Recommended Free Tools
Crashes, freezes or repeated installer failures
- End the process only if it is clearly associated with the failed installer and you have saved any evidence needed for analysis.
- Restart Windows, run a full security scan and review the installed-app list and startup entries.
- Repair or reinstall the intentionally installed application using a newly verified installer. Do not copy the questionable executable back into the program folder.
- If the crash continues after the suspicious file is removed and scans are clean, test Windows with a clean boot or a new local user account to separate third-party startup software from a system problem.
There is no published guarantee that deleting a particular file, editing a registry value or reinstalling one GameLoop component fixes every error involving this name. Avoid registry cleaners and improvised registry edits; they can remove information needed by legitimate software and do not address downloaded payloads, certificates or firewall rules.

Unexpected network or security-setting changes
If you find an unfamiliar firewall rule, certificate or executable that appeared after the file ran, record its name, path and timestamps before changing it. Remove or roll back only changes that a trusted security product or qualified administrator has identified as unwanted. Changing settings without preserving evidence can make diagnosis harder and can disrupt legitimate networking.
When to use System Restore or reinstall Windows
If scans find compromise, Windows security settings remain abnormal, or unknown processes return after removal, a known-good restore point may be appropriate. Choose a restore point created before the suspicious execution and understand that System Restore is not a guarantee that every malicious file or user-data change will disappear.
For a computer that remains untrustworthy, reinstall Windows from trusted installation media. Before reinstalling, back up only personal documents, photos and other files that have been checked; do not preserve executables, scripts, cracked software or installers. After installation, apply Windows updates, enable security protections, change passwords from a separate clean device and restore data selectively.

What is known—and what is not
- The filename is associated with GameLoop/Tencent installation activity in the cited 2020 sandbox reports.
- One analyzed sample received a Malicious activity verdict and had the SHA-1 and SHA-256 values listed above.
- The reports describe behaviors that justify containment and investigation.
- The evidence does not prove that every file with this name is malicious.
- No reliable published figure was located for how often this filename appears, how many computers are affected, or how frequently it causes Windows errors.
- The reports do not provide a current official Tencent repair procedure, current installer mapping or guaranteed deletion step.
Until a specific copy passes independent source, signature and hash checks, the safest practical choice is not to execute it, isolate the computer if it already ran, and let a trusted security tool or qualified administrator examine the resulting changes.
