Garment Plus lets you add or remove laundry after a wash has started—but only while the Garment Plus indicator is lit. Press Start/Pause to unlock the lid, make the change, close the lid, and press Start/Pause again to resume. If Child Lock is active, turn it off first.
How to use Garment Plus
- Check the control panel: Make sure the Garment Plus indicator is lit.
- Pause the washer: Press Start/Pause and wait for the lid to unlock.
- Add or remove laundry: Open the lid and make the change.
- Close the lid securely.
- Resume the wash: Press Start/Pause again.
If Child Lock is enabled, deactivate it before trying to use Garment Plus. These instructions are documented in manuals for several Samsung top-load models, but button names and behavior may differ on other machines. Check the manual for your washer’s full model code.

When can you add clothes?
Use Garment Plus only when its indicator is on. The manuals reviewed do not establish that it is available at every stage of a wash, so do not assume the lid can be opened mid-cycle whenever you choose. If the indicator is off, follow the instructions for your exact model rather than trying to force the lid.

Do not force the lid. Confirm that Garment Plus is lit and Child Lock is off, then follow the instructions in the manual for your exact model. If the lid still will not unlock, consult that manual or contact Samsung support; these instructions alone do not establish the cause.
