Game of Thrones: Legends is Zynga’s free-to-download mobile match-3 puzzle RPG. You match gems to charge a team of Champions’ abilities, build and equip that team, and take it through story missions, limited-time challenges, and competitive or cooperative modes. Its roster and setting draw on both Game of Thrones and House of the Dragon.
How do the puzzles work?
Combat is built around matching gems on a puzzle board. Matches charge the special abilities of the Champions on your team; combos can add damage. The puzzle is therefore part of the battle system, not a separate casual mode: your matches help determine when you can use character abilities.

Team choices and equipment add an RPG layer. Zynga highlights lore-based pairings such as Jon Snow with Longclaw and Arya with Needle, as well as combinations of Champions and their abilities. Which heroes and characters can you collect?
The game calls its roster Champions. Zynga names Jon Snow, Daenerys Targaryen, Tyrion Lannister, and Rhaenyra Targaryen among them, bringing characters from different points in the television franchise’s timelines together. The U.S. App Store listing also describes dragons as part of the collection and says Champions can be paired with dragons.

Roster building means collecting and upgrading Champions, choosing a team, and equipping gear. These choices shape how you approach battles; the available official descriptions do not establish a definitive ranking of the best Champions or team builds.
What are the story missions, events, and multiplayer modes?
Players lead a House of Westeros and progress through missions and story mode. Separate special challenges and limited-time events draw on recognizable franchise moments. Zynga has cited the Battle of the Bastards as an event example, with Ramsay Bolton or Wun Wun among potential collection rewards.

Other modes broaden play beyond solo progression. Official materials identify Raids, tournaments, PvP, and Alliance Wars, as well as collaboration between player-run Houses. In practical terms, story missions provide progression, events offer changing challenges and rewards, and the social and competitive modes involve other players or alliances.

What does Zynga’s roadmap say about future features?
In a June 1, 2026 roadmap, Zynga described work on stability, player experience, event tuning, and progression. It also said the team was working on Dragons in PvP, an event tied to House of the Dragon Season 3, auto-completion for levels already beaten, and a new adjacent-targeting mechanic. The post discussed exploring an official webstore and other potential changes.
These are dated plans and explorations, not confirmation that every feature has shipped. Zynga explicitly says the roadmap is not a promise or guarantee; check a later official update or the game itself to confirm availability.

Is Game of Thrones: Legends free, and does it require internet?
The U.S. Apple App Store listing describes the game as free to download with optional in-app purchases. It says random-item drop-rate information is available in the game, an internet connection is required, and in-app purchases can be disabled through device settings. Those listing details do not establish how much spending, if any, is needed to progress.
