Setting: the Dagdan Empire and the Heroic Games
The story takes place in the Dagdan Empire, described by Nintendo as a prosperous land under the rule of gods. Its capital, Dagsion, hosts the Heroic Games, a competition that draws fighters from across the land. The winner receives one wish, giving the tournament a personal motive for contestants as well as a larger political and supernatural importance.
How the Heroic Games fit the plot
The Heroic Games are the story’s entry point: fighters gather in Dagsion to compete, but the narrative expands beyond a conventional tournament. Four heroes become connected to the world’s fate, and their separate paths are woven together across different points in time. The wish promised by the Games therefore sits alongside a much larger crisis rather than serving as the only objective.
Nintendo’s announcement on September 19, 2025, introduced the premise with the line, “The Heroic Games have begun.” That wording establishes the competition as a major event, while the product description identifies the longer-term threat: demon god Balor and a future that must be saved from ruin.
Balor and the time-spanning threat
Balor is the central antagonist identified in the official product copy. The stated goal is to gather allies through time and defeat him before the future is destroyed. The evidence available for the game confirms the threat and the time-travel premise, but it does not provide a full chronology, Balor’s origin, or the exact event that causes the future’s ruin. Those story details should be discovered in the game rather than filled in with assumptions from other Fire Emblem titles.

- The competition in Dagsion: fighters enter the Heroic Games because the winner is promised one wish.
- The four-hero perspective: four protagonists’ paths are connected rather than presented as one uninterrupted journey.

What Wave 1 adds
The first wave released on October 14, 2026. Its prototype weapons are designed for the four heroes and draw on the visual and thematic idea of Heroes’ Relics from Fire Emblem: Three Houses. The description confirms the weapons’ inspiration and intended users; it does not state their attack values, upgrade paths or whether they are available at a particular story point.

What Wave 2 adds
Wave 2 is scheduled for holiday 2026. It adds three named gods—Aurora, Smyrnos and Jurah—and wearable outfits. Nintendo’s announcement does not define whether the gods function as playable characters, recruitable allies, bosses or another type of content, so their exact gameplay roles remain unspecified in the confirmed details.
What Wave 3 adds
Wave 3 is planned for 2027 and adds stories featuring Bertrand, Talimun, Orchel and Anatolia, along with new recruitable allies and classes. The announcement confirms those names and categories of content but does not provide a precise 2027 date or the number of missions, allies or classes.
The Expansion Pass is digital content and should be considered separately from the physical game and the Dagdan Collection. Nintendo’s support listing establishes the waves and timing; regional pricing, bundle terms and availability can vary.

Version 1.0.1 was released one day before the September 17 launch date. Nintendo’s update note says it grants extra Fire Emblem weapons during the story and fixes various issues, but the supplied notice does not enumerate every corrected problem. Version 1.1.0 arrived on October 14 alongside the first Expansion Pass wave and adds the in-game support needed to access that content.
Is Fortune’s Weave a good fit for you?
The game is most directly suited to players who want a strategy RPG with deliberate, turn-based battles and a story spread across multiple heroes and eras. The confirmed difficulty option makes it more approachable for players who prefer to choose their challenge level. Stat raising, romance and voiced characters add role-playing and relationship elements beyond the battles themselves.
It may be a less suitable purchase if you need a version for the original Nintendo Switch, another console or a confirmed performance profile before buying. No independent sales figures, review averages, frame-rate tests or resolution measurements are established in the available official material.
