Confetti is a reported celebration animation that appears when a guest responds to an Apple Invites event. Apple has not documented it as an iCloud Calendar effect, published its exact trigger or version requirement, or provided a confirmed switch to disable it.
What the Confetti effect is
Apple Invites users have reported a confetti animation playing when someone replies to an invitation. The most supportable description is an RSVP-related celebration effect inside Apple Invites—not a general iCloud notification or calendar setting.
The report describing the animation is user-generated, while Apple’s launch announcement does not name Confetti or specify how it is triggered. Treat the behavior as observed product behavior rather than a formally documented feature.
Where Apple Invites fits
Apple introduced Apple Invites on February 4, 2025, as an iPhone app and web service for creating event invitations, collecting RSVPs, sharing photos in Shared Albums, and collaborating on Apple Music playlists. Hosts create invitations with an iCloud+ subscription; guests can respond without an Apple Account, an Apple device, or an iCloud+ subscription. The service is available in the iPhone app and at icloud.com/invites.

That broad guest access explains why an RSVP animation can appear even when invitees do not use Apple hardware or paid iCloud storage.
Is Confetti part of iCloud Calendar?
Apple’s iCloud Calendar documentation covers inviting people to calendar events, tracking responses, and receiving invitations through notifications or email. It does not mention a Confetti animation. The available evidence therefore places Confetti in the Apple Invites workflow, not in a documented iCloud Calendar preference.

Can you turn Confetti off?
There is no confirmed Apple-published control for disabling Confetti. Apple has not identified an on/off setting, a required minimum app version, or a regional rollout schedule for the effect.
If you do not see Confetti, that does not establish that it has been removed: availability may depend on rollout, software version, account, or region, none of which Apple has specified publicly for this behavior. Likewise, changing a general Calendar notification setting should not be described as a proven way to suppress an Apple Invites animation.

What hosts and guests can control
Hosts
- Create invitations with an iCloud+ subscription.
- Manage RSVP responses in Apple Invites.
- Use invitation links and organize event details with Apple’s supported workflow.
- Add Shared Albums, collaborative Apple Music playlists, Maps information, and Weather details where available in the invitation experience.
Guests
- Open the invitation from a link or supported message.
- RSVP without an Apple Account, Apple device, or iCloud+ subscription.
- Participate in shared-photo and collaborative-music features offered by the host.
What to do if the animation is unwanted
- Confirm whether the animation appears in Apple Invites or in a separate Calendar notification; the products have different documented capabilities.
- Update the Apple Invites app and the device software, then check whether the behavior changes. Apple has not published a Confetti-specific version requirement, so this is a troubleshooting step, not a guaranteed fix.
- Review Apple Invites and system notification settings for controls over alerts. Do not assume a notification switch disables an in-app animation.
- If the effect remains disruptive, report the behavior to Apple through its normal support channels and include the device, operating-system version, region, and whether you are the host or a guest.
Bottom line on Apple’s Confetti feature
Confetti is best understood as a reported Apple Invites RSVP animation. It is not a documented iCloud Calendar feature, and Apple has not confirmed a disable switch, exact trigger, version, or geographic availability. The underlying invitation service is distinct: iCloud+ members host events, while virtually anyone can RSVP through the iPhone app or web service.
