Cloud Native Kubernetes AI Day is a full-day conference program about running AI and machine-learning workloads on Kubernetes and other cloud-native infrastructure. It brings practitioners, researchers, open-source contributors, project maintainers and end users together to discuss topics such as model training and inference, batch computing, MLOps, LLMs, accelerators and production operations. It has been offered as a co-located event alongside KubeCon + CloudNativeCon; dates and details vary by edition.

What is Cloud Native Kubernetes AI Day?

It is a focused conference day organized within the Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF) and Linux Foundation event ecosystem. Rather than covering Kubernetes broadly, the program examines how cloud-native systems can support AI, machine learning and high-performance-computing workloads, from infrastructure and scheduling to deployment and operations.

Past editions have used a single-track, full-day format, with technical sessions and lightning talks. The North America 2025 program also included questions, breakout discussions and networking. The Linux Foundation Europe event page describes its program as full-day and one-track, and links to schedules, videos and presentations.

Is Kubernetes AI Day part of KubeCon?

It has been presented as a co-located conference program alongside KubeCon + CloudNativeCon, rather than as a regular KubeCon session track. “Co-located” means it is organized in connection with a larger event, but attendance and access arrangements can depend on the specific edition. Check that edition’s official event page for registration terms, venue and schedule.

Who should attend?

The program is relevant to people building, operating or evaluating AI systems on cloud-native infrastructure. CNCF North America 2025 co-chairs described its audience as “a diverse range of technical enthusiasts, open source contributors, practitioners, researchers and end users.”

  • Platform and infrastructure teams: Learn about orchestration, scheduling, accelerator utilization, observability and operating AI workloads in production.
  • ML and AI engineers: Compare infrastructure approaches for training, inference, model serving and MLOps.
  • Researchers and HPC practitioners: Explore how cloud-native platforms handle batch computing and compute-intensive workloads.
  • Open-source contributors and maintainers: Meet people working on projects and tools for AI infrastructure.
  • Teams new to batch computing or MLOps: Use the sessions to understand the operational choices involved in moving workloads from experimentation to production.

What topics are covered?

Topics change by edition, but the official program descriptions span infrastructure foundations and emerging AI use cases.

  • Training, inference and batch computing: Workload orchestration and infrastructure choices differ depending on whether a team is training models, serving predictions or running batch jobs.
  • Accelerator efficiency: Sessions address how to make effective use of scarce accelerators such as GPUs.
  • MLOps and production operations: The focus includes taking machine-learning workloads into production and operating them reliably.
  • LLMs and agentic infrastructure: Programs have explored infrastructure for large language models and agent-based AI systems.
  • Observability and model serving: Operational visibility and serving models are among the practical concerns for teams running AI workloads.
  • High-performance computing: The event also covers cloud-native approaches to compute-intensive workloads.

How have past editions differed?

Published programs show the event’s format and emphasis by location and year. These details describe past editions, not a confirmed future schedule.

Edition Date and location Published format and emphasis
Europe 2025 April 1, 2025; London Full-day, one-track program. The CNCF deep dive lists 10 full sessions and four lightning talks; topics highlighted included LLMs, Graph RAGs and ethical considerations in AI.
North America 2024 November 12, 2024; Salt Lake City, Utah 11 full sessions and three lightning talks, according to the CNCF deep dive.
North America 2025 Date and venue not stated here Full-day program with 10 full sessions and four lightning talks, plus questions, breakout discussions and networking. CNCF described the theme as “agent,” with attention to agentic AI infrastructure and real-world user stories. The Linux Foundation archive marks the event as passed.

CNCF reported 174 CFP submissions, average session attendance of 163 and peak session attendance of 258 for the 2025 program. Those are edition-specific figures, not attendance guarantees for a future event.

How can attendees get practical value from the sessions?

Bring a concrete workload or platform decision to evaluate. A team choosing infrastructure for model training has different constraints from one deploying online inference or running scheduled batch jobs. Use sessions and discussions to compare approaches against the needs of the workload, rather than treating “AI on Kubernetes” as a single problem.

  • Identify whether your priority is training, inference, batch processing or model serving.
  • Ask how the approach schedules workloads and measures accelerator utilization.
  • Consider what observability is available for both infrastructure and model-serving operations.
  • Assess operational cost alongside performance and capacity constraints.
  • For LLM or agentic systems, examine what production infrastructure and operational practices the approach requires.

How do you sponsor Cloud Native Kubernetes AI Day?

Sponsorship opportunities have been edition-specific. The Europe 2025 Linux Foundation prospectus listed Diamond, Platinum and session-recording inventory for a full-day, one-track event. That prospectus does not establish that the same packages or inventory are available for a future edition.

For a current opportunity, check the relevant CNCF or Linux Foundation event page and contact the event organizers through the listed channels. The North America 2025 transparency report named Lambda, Nebius, Neo4j, vCluster, Cosmonic, Mirantis, Red Hat, Spectro Cloud, SUSE and Kestrel AI as sponsors; this roster is specific to that edition.

Are future dates, registration and sponsorship confirmed?

No 2026 date, venue, registration price or active sponsorship inventory for this exact event is confirmed in the available official event information. Those details are volatile, so consult the Linux Foundation events calendar and current CNCF event listings before making plans.
