bsaupdater.exe is listed by a third-party software inventory as an updater installed with Biospace Lookin’Body120. That association is plausible, but the filename alone does not prove that every copy is legitimate. A copy in an unexpected folder, without a valid publisher signature, or on a computer that never had Lookin’Body120 should be treated as suspicious until it has been scanned.
Do not delete the file immediately. First record its complete path and signature, confirm whether the parent application is installed, and run an updated security scan. If the file is legitimate but damaged, repair or reinstall the parent application from its official installer. If security software identifies malware, let that product quarantine or remove it and then run a follow-up full scan.

What bsaupdater.exe appears to be
The only direct software association documented for this filename is the updater component of Biospace Lookin’Body120. The same inventory entry lists related files named BSAUpdater_Eng.exe, BSAUpdater_Kor.exe, BSAUpStart.exe and bsaupdater.ini. In that context, bsaupdater.exe may check for or install updates for the application.
This evidence identifies a plausible parent program, not a universal rule. Malware can use a familiar filename, and a genuine program can be copied or damaged. Windows does not decide that a file is safe merely because its name ends in .exe. Treat the name as a clue and verify the file’s provenance, signature, behavior and scan result.

Is bsaupdater.exe safe?
Safety depends on the individual file. A copy located inside the installed Lookin’Body120 program directory, signed by the expected software publisher and reported clean by current security software is more consistent with a legitimate updater. None of those checks, including the location check, is conclusive by itself.
A copy deserves extra scrutiny when:
- Lookin’Body120 is not installed or has never been installed on the computer.
- The file is in a random temporary, user-profile or system-looking directory rather than the parent application’s directory.
- File Properties has no Digital Signatures tab, shows an invalid signature, or names an unexpected signer.
- The executable repeatedly reappears after removal, launches from an unfamiliar startup entry, or causes unexplained pop-ups, network activity or resource use.
- Your security product reports a detection, especially when the detection remains after signatures are updated and a full scan is completed.
These signs do not prove malware. They tell you to verify before allowing the file to run or deleting it.
Check the file before changing anything
1. Locate the exact executable
- When an alert or error names bsaupdater.exe, open File Explorer and search for that exact filename.
- If the process is running, open Task Manager, right-click the process, choose Open file location, and copy the complete path shown in the address bar.
- Do not rely on a shortcut, a recent-file list or the name displayed in an alert. Record the drive letter, every folder, the filename and the file extension.
A path inside the installed Lookin’Body120 directory is more compatible with the documented association than a copy in an unrelated folder. Location is only one data point; a malicious file can be placed there and a legitimate file can be moved elsewhere.

Random freezes, missing sound and display glitches usually trace back to one bad driver. Find and replace yours safely.Free scan · under a minute2. Record version and size information
- Right-click the file and select Properties.
- On the General tab, note the size, creation or modification dates and whether Windows shows an unblock option.
- On the Details tab, record the product name, file description, company, product version and original filename when those fields are present.
Inconsistent or blank metadata is a reason to investigate further, not an automatic malware verdict. File dates can change during an update or when a file is copied.
3. Inspect the digital signature
- In Properties, open Digital Signatures.
- Select the listed signature, choose Details, and check whether Windows reports that the signature is valid.
- Write down the signer and the timestamp. A signer that does not match the publisher of the installed parent application needs an explanation.
Some legitimate older programs are unsigned, and a valid signature does not guarantee that the file is harmless. It does establish that the signed content came from the signer and has not been altered since signing, provided Windows validates the certificate chain.

4. Confirm the parent application
- Open Settings > Apps > Installed apps (or Apps & features on older Windows versions).
- Search for Biospace Lookin’Body120 and note its installed version and publisher.
- Compare the application’s install location with the path you recorded for bsaupdater.exe.
If the application is absent, do not download an executable with the same name to “replace” it. If the application is present but the updater is in a different directory, investigate both entries before allowing either one to run.
Scan bsaupdater.exe safely
Use updated security software
Update Microsoft Defender or another trusted antivirus product before scanning. Microsoft recommends keeping antivirus signatures current and running a full Microsoft Defender scan when unwanted or suspicious software is suspected. A quick scan may miss a file that starts outside the usual locations, so select a Full scan when available.
Free tools Windows power users keep installed
One-click scans. No signup required.
- Open Windows Security > Virus & threat protection.
- Choose Protection updates and select Check for updates.
- Return to Scan options, select Full scan, and start the scan.
- Allow the scan to finish. Record the detection name, affected path and action offered by Windows Security.
You can also right-click the executable in File Explorer and choose Scan with Microsoft Defender when that command is available. A targeted scan is useful for an immediate check, but it does not replace a full scan when the file is unexplained.
Understand potentially unwanted application warnings
Microsoft describes potentially unwanted applications as software that may display unwanted advertising, consume resources for activities such as cryptomining, or offer unexpected applications. Such a warning is not identical to a confirmed virus. Review the detection details, the file path and the publisher, then decide whether the parent application is wanted.
If a security product detects a threat
Do not manually delete the executable while the security product is still evaluating it. Bitdefender’s support guidance states: “If the Notification indicates that Bitdefender successfully blocked the threat, you are safe.” Its guidance also says not to delete a file that might be part of Windows or might be a false alarm before reviewing the detection and contacting support when necessary.

- [Dont Hesite to Order] 24 hours customer services and professional technology team are standing by
- Update the security product’s signatures and run the scan again.
- Read the exact detection name and confirm the full path. A generic name and an unusual path warrant more investigation than a confirmed detection in a known application folder.
- Choose Quarantine or the product’s equivalent for a confirmed threat. Quarantine is reversible and prevents the file from running while preserving evidence for review.
- Restart Windows if the security product requests it, then run a full scan again.
- Keep the scan log. If the result is ambiguous, provide the security vendor with the detection name, path, file hash and log rather than uploading the executable to an untrusted site.
If a file is quarantined and the parent application stops working, do not restore it automatically. First determine whether the detection was a false positive with the security vendor or the software publisher.
Can you delete bsaupdater.exe?
Deletion is appropriate only after you know which application owns the file and whether the file is malicious or unwanted.
- Confirmed malware: let the security product quarantine or remove it. Manual deletion can leave associated components, remove evidence or interfere with remediation.
- Unwanted Lookin’Body120 installation: uninstall the application first through Settings > Apps > Installed apps, restart, scan for remnants, and remove only leftover files that you have positively identified as belonging to that application.
- Legitimate but damaged updater: do not delete it as a first step. Repair or reinstall Lookin’Body120 from the publisher’s official installer or account.
- Uncertain status: leave the file in place, prevent unnecessary execution, and obtain a second opinion from a trusted security vendor before changing it.
Never download a replacement bsaupdater.exe from a file-sharing or “DLL download” site. Matching the filename does not ensure that the binary, version or publisher is correct.
Fix bsaupdater.exe errors when Lookin’Body120 is legitimate
Restart and reproduce the error
Restart Windows, launch Lookin’Body120 again and note the exact wording, timing and action that triggers the error. An error only during startup points toward an updater or startup entry; an error during a specific feature may indicate a damaged application component. Capture a screenshot or copy the complete message before closing it.
Repair or reinstall the parent application
- Back up any Lookin’Body120 data or settings that the publisher says should be preserved.
- In Settings > Apps > Installed apps, select Lookin’Body120 and use Modify, Repair or Uninstall if those options are provided.
- If repair is unavailable or fails, uninstall the application, restart Windows, and remove only documented leftovers.
- Download the current installer from the official software publisher or use the original installer supplied with the product. Verify that the publisher and version match your license and Windows edition.
- Install while signed in with an account that has the required permissions, then restart and test the updater.
Reinstalling the parent program replaces a missing or corrupt updater with the version intended for that release. It is safer than copying an executable from another computer.

Check permissions and blocked files
If Windows reports “access denied,” open Properties and look for an Unblock option on the General tab, but use it only when you trust the installer source and understand why Windows marked the file. Run the application’s documented installer repair with an administrator account rather than granting broad permissions to an unknown executable.
Resolve conflicts with security software
A security product can block an updater because its behavior resembles unwanted software, while another security product may have left a partial installation. Review protection history and quarantine logs before adding an exclusion. Do not create a permanent antivirus exclusion for an unexplained executable. If a security application is malfunctioning, follow its vendor’s documented removal and reinstall procedure, restart, and then repair Windows system files as described below.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Repair Windows components when errors are broader than one app
Use these commands when multiple programs fail, Windows reports damaged system files, or installation and security software cannot complete normally. They do not establish that bsaupdater.exe itself is a Windows component.
Run System File Checker
- Open Windows Terminal (Admin) or Command Prompt (Admin).
- Run
sfc /scannow. - Wait for verification to reach 100 percent and read the result. Restart if Windows repaired files.
Repair the component store with DISM
If SFC reports that it could not repair some files, or if Windows servicing is damaged, run:
The Tool Desk
Outbyte PC Repair FREEClear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Outbyte Driver Updater FREEFix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
After DISM completes, restart Windows and run sfc /scannow again. An error code from either command should be recorded exactly; do not substitute random switches from an unrelated guide.
Best Value
Check the system drive
Unexpected application corruption can follow disk errors. Save your work, open an elevated terminal and run:
chkdsk C: /scan
Replace C: only if Windows is installed on another drive. The scan reports whether further repair is needed. If Windows schedules an offline repair, back up important files first and allow the restart to complete.
Handle startup entries and repeated launches
If bsaupdater.exe starts every time Windows boots, first establish whether that behavior belongs to the installed application.
- Open Settings > Apps > Startup and look for an entry associated with Lookin’Body120.
- In Task Manager, open the Startup apps tab and inspect the publisher and file location for the entry.
- Disable an entry only when you have recorded its path and confirmed that doing so will not interrupt a needed business workflow. Disabling is reversible; deleting registry values is not.
- After a reboot, scan again and test the parent application. A startup entry that returns after being disabled is a reason to investigate persistence or a scheduled task with the security product.
Do not use a registry cleaner to remove an unfamiliar startup reference. The safer sequence is identify, scan, uninstall the owning application or repair it, and then recheck.
When the file is not associated with Lookin’Body120
If no legitimate parent application explains the file, treat it as an unexplained executable rather than trying to make it work. Disconnecting from the network can limit unwanted communication while you investigate, but do not destroy the file before your security product has captured the detection details. Run a full scan, review startup locations and scheduled tasks through normal Windows tools, and remove confirmed malware through the security product.
If the scan is clean but the file remains suspicious, submit the hash, path, signature information and scan log to the security vendor. A clean result from one scanner is not proof of safety, especially for a newly modified or uncommon file.
Choosing a remediation path
| Situation | First action | Why this order matters |
|---|---|---|
| Lookin’Body120 is installed; file is in its directory; signature and scan are clean | Repair or reinstall the parent application if errors continue | Replaces damaged components without introducing an unrelated executable |
| Lookin’Body120 is absent; file is in an unexplained location | Update security software and run a full scan | Establishes whether the file is unwanted before deletion |
| Security software confirms malware | Quarantine or remove through that security product, then run a follow-up full scan | Preserves a reversible remediation path and checks for related components |
| Detection may be a false positive | Review the detection, update signatures and contact the security or software vendor | Manual deletion could damage a legitimate installation or erase evidence |
| Several Windows applications show corruption | Run DISM, SFC and an appropriate drive check | Addresses system or storage faults that can affect more than one executable |
Information to collect before asking for help
- The exact error text and when it appears.
- The complete file path, file size, product version and original filename.
- The Digital Signatures result and signer.
- Whether Biospace Lookin’Body120 is installed, including its version and publisher.
- The security product, signature-update date, detection name, action taken and scan log.
- The file hash, if your security or support tool provides one.
- Results from repair, reinstall, SFC, DISM or disk checks, including exact error codes.
Send that information to the Lookin’Body120 publisher for application errors or to the security vendor for detection questions. Avoid posting the executable itself or personal license data in a public forum.
Optional shortcut
Outbyte PC Repair can be an optional shortcut for common Windows issues, including broken system elements, invalid redirects and shared DLL problems; it can also adjust settings, clean temporary and cache files, provide privacy and vulnerability checks, a real-time boost, file shredding and an app-crash log. It runs on Windows 11, 10, 8 and 7. A free trial is available by category for at least two days before a paid subscription. It complements antivirus software rather than replacing it; results vary, and no tool repairs every crash.
Bottom line
bsaupdater.exe has a documented connection to the Biospace Lookin’Body120 updater, but that connection does not authenticate every copy. Verify the path, parent application and digital signature, scan with updated security software, quarantine confirmed threats, and repair or reinstall the legitimate parent application from its official source. Keep the file when its status is uncertain until a trusted security or software vendor has reviewed the evidence.
