Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsbqxqsrp.exe cannot be identified as a legitimate Windows component or a known malware family from its filename alone. No authoritative Windows record, established software product page, or named malware entry assigns that name to a publisher. Treat it as an unknown executable until you verify its full path, origin, digital signature, hash, and behavior.
Do not run the file just to see what happens, and do not download a replacement from an EXE or DLL download site. The steps below let you investigate it safely, decide whether it should be quarantined or retained, and address the common Windows errors that can appear when an executable is missing, damaged, or repeatedly crashing.

What bqxqsrp.exe is—and what the name does not tell you
An .exe file is a Windows program. The string bqxqsrp, however, has no recognizable product or Microsoft component association in the available records. It may be a randomly generated filename, a file installed by an application, a leftover startup reference, or a malicious file trying to look unremarkable. The name alone cannot distinguish those possibilities.
| Evidence | What it can tell you | What it cannot prove |
|---|---|---|
| Full file path | Which folder placed the file and which application might own it | That the file is safe merely because it is in a familiar-looking folder |
| Publisher and digital signature | Who signed the file and whether it changed after signing | That the signed program is harmless |
| SHA-256 hash | Whether the exact bytes match a sample in a reputable database | The author’s intent or what a different copy will do |
| Scanner result | Whether the security product detects known or suspicious behavior | A guarantee that a clean result is permanently safe |
| CPU, memory, network, or startup activity | Useful behavioral clues | A diagnosis without path, metadata, and scan results |
A random-looking name, an unusual directory, a missing signature, or an unexpected startup entry increases the need for investigation. None of those signs is conclusive by itself. Conversely, a valid signature is useful evidence of publisher and file integrity, not a safety guarantee; an unsigned file is not automatically malware.

First: contain the file without executing it
- Do not open or double-click
bqxqsrp.exe. Do not use it as a “test,” and do not approve an elevation prompt for it. - If it is currently running, open Task Manager. Press
Ctrl+Shift+Esc, select the Details or Processes view, locate the process, and choose Open file location. Record the complete path before ending the process. - Record context before stopping it. Note the displayed publisher, command line (if shown), parent process, start time, CPU and memory use, and any visible network activity. These details can identify the parent application and help explain an error.
- End the task only after recording those details. Right-click the process and choose End task if it is consuming resources or repeatedly crashing. Ending a process is not the same as removing the file; it simply stops the current instance.
If the process restarts immediately, that persistence is important evidence. Continue with the startup and scan checks below rather than repeatedly deleting random files.
Check the path, publisher, and signature
- In File Explorer, right-click the executable and select Properties.
- On the General tab, record the full location, file size, and creation or modification dates. A location inside a clearly identified application’s installation folder is more explainable than a randomly named folder, but neither location proves safety.
- Open Details and note File description, Product name, Company, and Original filename. Blank or inconsistent fields are reasons to investigate further, not automatic proof of malware.
- Open Digital Signatures, select a signature, choose Details, and confirm that Windows reports the signature as valid. Check whether the signer is the publisher you expect for the parent application.
A signature helps show who signed the file and whether it was altered after signing. It does not establish that the signer is trustworthy or that the program’s behavior is benign. Do not treat an unsigned file as automatically malicious either; some legitimate utilities are unsigned.

Calculate and check the file hash
A hash lets you identify the exact bytes you examined. Open PowerShell, change the path to the one you recorded, and run:
Get-FileHash -LiteralPath "C:fullpathbqxqsrp.exe" -Algorithm SHA256
Copy the resulting SHA-256 value exactly. Compare it with a reputable malware database or a multi-engine scanner that accepts hashes. A match is evidence about that exact file, not every file with the same name. A hash with no result is not proof of safety; newly created or uncommon files may simply have no prior listing.

Scan before opening or deleting
Use Windows Security
- Open Windows Security from the Start menu.
- Select Virus & threat protection, then choose Scan options.
- Select Full scan and start it. Allow the scan to complete rather than relying only on a quick scan.
- Review Protection history for the exact path and action taken. Record whether the file was quarantined, removed, or allowed.
Use Microsoft Safety Scanner when a second check is needed
Microsoft Safety Scanner is a separate, on-demand malware-checking utility. Download it only from Microsoft’s official source, run a full scan, and retain the result. Microsoft’s documented workflow says that error details can be reviewed in %systemroot%debugmsert. The scanner is not a substitute for an always-on security product, and an old copy should not be treated as current protection.
Choose the response based on the evidence
| What you find | Action | Why |
|---|---|---|
| The scanner identifies malware | Use the security product’s quarantine or delete action, then run another full scan. | Quarantine removes the active copy through a controlled security workflow and the second scan checks for related files. |
| The scan is clean and the file belongs to an identifiable application with an expected publisher | Repair or reinstall that parent application using its verified publisher or its built-in Windows repair option. | The executable may be damaged or its registration may be broken; replacing the complete application is safer than downloading one executable. |
| The scan is clean but no parent application, publisher, or expected purpose can be established | Leave it unopened, preserve the path and hash, and obtain help from a qualified technician or the security product’s support channel. | A clean result does not explain an unknown file or prove that it is wanted. |
| The scanner cannot complete or reports an error | Record the error, update the security product, and run the full scan again. Keep the file closed while you investigate. | The failed scan provides no reliable safety conclusion. |
Never download a replacement bqxqsrp.exe from an unknown EXE or DLL site. If a legitimate application needs the file, reinstalling that application from its verified publisher restores the correct files and dependencies together.

Can you delete bqxqsrp.exe?
Do not delete it solely because the name looks random. First determine whether it is running, whether a scanner detected it, whether its signature and publisher are expected, and whether a known application depends on it.
Recommended Free Tools
- Confirmed malware: Prefer quarantine or removal through Windows Security or another trusted security product, then rescan. Manual deletion can leave startup references or related components behind.
- Known application file: Do not delete it manually. Use the application’s repair or uninstall process; deleting one executable can break updates, shared components, or licensing.
- Unknown and undetected: Do not open or remove it impulsively. Preserve the path, metadata, hash, and scan result while you identify its origin.
- Missing-file error after removal: The message may be coming from a stale startup entry rather than an active infection. Identify the program that created the entry before disabling or removing it.
How to fix bqxqsrp.exe errors
There is no documented bqxqsrp.exe-specific error code or vendor repair procedure. The exact Windows message, path, parent application, and scanner result are needed for a narrower diagnosis. Use the branch that matches what you observe.

“Windows cannot find bqxqsrp.exe” or a popup appears at sign-in
- Write down the complete message and the path it names.
- Open Task Manager with
Ctrl+Shift+Escand select Startup apps. Look for an entry whose publisher or command points to the missing file. - Identify the application that created the entry. If it is a program you recognize, repair or reinstall that program from its verified publisher. If it is unwanted, uninstall it through Settings > Apps > Installed apps before disabling its leftover startup entry.
- Restart Windows and confirm whether the message returns. If it does, record the new entry or parent process instead of downloading a replacement executable.
“bqxqsrp.exe – Application Error” or an immediate crash
- Capture the full text, error code, and the action that triggers it.
- Run the full Windows Security scan and, if necessary, Microsoft Safety Scanner before attempting to launch the file again.
- If the file belongs to a known application and scans are clean, use that application’s repair option or reinstall the latest version from its verified publisher.
- If no parent application can be identified, keep the file closed and use the path, signature, hash, and scan result for professional analysis.
High CPU, memory, or disk use
- In Task Manager, record the resource usage and choose Open file location before ending the task.
- End the task if necessary, then scan the recorded file and its location.
- Check whether the process returns after a restart. A recurring process needs startup and parent-application investigation, not repeated deletion of the visible file.
The file returns after deletion or quarantine
A returning file may be recreated by a parent application, scheduled startup component, or another related file. Record the process that recreates it, rescan the system, and inspect the associated startup entry. If a security product reports malware, follow its quarantine and rescan workflow rather than trying to remove each copy manually.
A practical evidence checklist
- Exact Windows error text and any numeric code
- Full path and file name, including drive letter
- File size and modification date
- Details-tab product, company, and original-filename fields
- Digital-signature status and signer
- SHA-256 hash
- Parent process and command line from Task Manager
- Startup entry associated with the file
- Windows Security and Microsoft Safety Scanner results
- Whether the file reappears after a restart or quarantine
These details separate a missing reference from a damaged application and both from a potentially unwanted or malicious executable. Without them, the filename alone cannot support a safe deletion decision.
