Jio combines a nationwide connectivity business with consumer digital services and enterprise technology offerings. Its scale is clear in company-reported customer, 5G and broadband figures, while its IPO terms are not yet established in the official materials reviewed as of October 7, 2026. To understand the listing story, distinguish Jio Platforms from Reliance Jio Infocomm and Reliance Industries’ Digital Services segment—and wait for the prospectus before treating any price, size or valuation as confirmed.

What does Jio Platforms do?

Jio Platforms Limited describes its business as a technology stack spanning network, devices, operating systems and digital applications. Connectivity is its foundation: subsidiary Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited provides wireless and wireline services across India. The customer-facing Jio offer adds digital services for consumers and businesses.

Enterprise services

For businesses, the company lists cloud and productivity services, unified communications, IoT, managed Wi-Fi, private 5G, managed connectivity and security.

These descriptions establish the breadth of the portfolio, not how much revenue or profit each product generates. The available figures do not break out the independent financial contribution of these service lines.

How does Jio make money?

Connectivity is the platform’s access layer: Reliance Jio Infocomm sells wireless and wireline connectivity, while Jio’s broader consumer and enterprise portfolio includes digital and managed services. That gives the business a potential route to serve customers beyond basic mobile access, but the company descriptions alone do not show how much those additional services contribute to revenue or EBITDA.

For an investor, the key distinction is between a wide catalogue of offerings and demonstrated financial diversification. The cited company materials report overall figures, but do not provide a comparable revenue or profit breakdown for each consumer and enterprise service.

How large is Jio, and what do its figures show?

The figures below come from Jio or Reliance company materials. They refer to different entities, reporting periods and measures; they should not be combined as if they were one set of accounts.

Measure Reported figure Entity, period and source
Customers served 524.4 million Reliance Jio Infocomm in India, as of March 31, 2026; Jio company overview.
Revenue from operations ₹1.47 trillion Jio Platforms, FY2026; Jio company overview.
EBITDA ₹763 billion Jio Platforms, FY2026; Jio company overview.
5G users More than 268 million Reliance Industries’ reported Jio operating metrics, as of March 2026; Integrated Annual Report 2025–26.
Fixed broadband connections More than 27 million Reliance Industries’ reported Jio operating metrics, as of March 2026; Integrated Annual Report 2025–26.
Fixed broadband market share Approximately 43% Reliance Industries’ reported figure, as of March 2026; Integrated Annual Report 2025–26.
5G share of wireless data traffic 55% Reliance Industries’ reported Jio operating metric, as of March 2026; Integrated Annual Report 2025–26.
Digital Services revenue from operations ₹149,965 crore; up 14.2% year on year Reliance Industries Digital Services segment, FY2025–26; Integrated Annual Report 2025–26.
Digital Services EBITDA ₹76,560 crore; up 17.8% year on year Reliance Industries Digital Services segment, FY2025–26; Integrated Annual Report 2025–26.

Jio Platforms’ rounded FY2026 overview figures and Reliance Industries’ Digital Services segment figures have different stated scopes and presentations. The materials do not provide a reconciliation that would justify treating them as interchangeable. Keep each number attached to its reported entity and label.

What do Jio’s growth and market position figures indicate?

The reported customer base, 5G adoption and fixed broadband connections show the reach of Jio’s connectivity business. Reliance also reports that 5G accounted for 55% of Jio wireless data traffic and puts Jio’s fixed broadband market share at approximately 43% as of March 2026. These are company-reported measures, not independent market validation.

Scale and usage are relevant indicators, but neither automatically proves higher future revenue, improved margins or a lasting competitive advantage. The reported growth rates for FY2025–26 apply to Reliance Industries’ Digital Services segment; the Jio Platforms overview figures cited above do not include a year-on-year growth rate.

What is known about the Jio IPO?

Jio’s official investor-relations page lists a Draft Red Herring Prospectus, a Draft Abridged Prospectus and an industry report among its issue-related documents. Reliance Industries’ FY2025–26 shareholder communication describes the IPO as “imminent.” In that communication, Chairman and Managing Director Mukesh Ambani said: “The most important value creation milestone this year, of course, is Jio’s imminent IPO.”

The official pages reviewed for this article do not state a final offer price, issue date, issue size or valuation. Treat those terms as unconfirmed until they appear in current official issue documents or regulatory filings; media estimates are not confirmed terms.

Jio’s financial statements page also says its posted audited statements are made available to comply with SEBI regulations and do not constitute issue documents or a substitute for a prospectus. The prospectus and relevant filings are the documents to consult for the final offer terms and disclosures.

How should investors assess the listing?

Once official issue terms are available, assess the company using a few distinct questions rather than relying on its scale alone:

  • Connectivity reach: Track customer, 5G and fixed broadband figures with their dates and the entity reporting them.
  • Usage versus monetisation: Examine whether increases in 5G or broadband usage translate into revenue growth; usage figures alone do not establish that.
  • Financial performance: Compare revenue, EBITDA and growth rates only on a consistent entity and reporting basis. Do not silently combine Jio Platforms figures with Reliance Digital Services segment results.
  • Services beyond connectivity: Look for disclosed financial evidence that consumer and enterprise offerings contribute materially, rather than inferring their performance from a list of products.
  • Price and valuation: Review the final offer price and valuation alongside the prospectus’s financial statements, risk factors and other disclosures once published.
