Does a local center closure automatically close your account?
National Savings Pakistan’s published material does not describe a closure-specific process that automatically closes an account, transfers it to another center, or causes the balance to be lost. The National Savings Deposit Accounts Rules reviewed likewise do not identify a consequence specifically for the closure of an individual center. That means the public information does not establish what will happen to every account in this situation; confirm your account’s status directly with National Savings.

A local office closing and an account being closed are different things. Do not assume that the account has been closed, transferred, or forfeited solely because the center is shutting.
Can you transfer the account to another center?
National Savings’ FAQ answers “Is Savings Account transferable?” with “No.” However, its Public Forms page lists an “Application for Transfer of Accounts (One center to another).” The published pages do not clarify whether that form applies to this particular Savings Account, or whether it applies when a center closes.

Ask CDNS which instruction applies to your account before relying on the form. A listed form is not, by itself, confirmation that your account can be transferred in these circumstances.
What to do if your NSC is closing
- Contact National Savings through its current Contact Details page. Use the listed customer contact channels rather than relying on an old local number.
- Check the Contact Directory. Look for a currently listed NSC and ask whether it can handle your account.
- Have your account number and available account records ready. Ask whether the account remains active, where you can make transactions, and whether the center-to-center transfer application applies.
- Request account-specific instructions. Confirm any required documents and relevant dates directly with National Savings; the reviewed public information does not specify closure-related paperwork or a deadline.
Do not withdraw all funds or close the account solely because you have heard that a center is closing. The published information does not say that doing so is required, and the right steps may depend on your account.

Keep ordinary account terms separate from closure instructions
The FAQ says profit on a Savings Account is credited on 30 June each year and calculated using the lowest balance between the close of the sixth day and the end of each month. It also says that only three withdrawals are allowed in a week. These are ordinary account terms; they do not explain what happens to an account when its NSC closes.

National Savings says a Savings Account can be opened at an NSC using the DA-I application. Its Savings Account page describes deposits by cash, cheque, draft, or pay order subject to the stated conditions. Those opening and deposit details do not establish a closure procedure.
