“Delete my account” can describe two different actions in Throne and Liberty’s 2026 service transition. Opting out of the announced transfer from Amazon Games to NC leaves your existing characters, progression, and inventory behind; you would start over if you later play under NC. Deleting a Steam account is a separate platform action that permanently removes Steam licenses and other account information, without automatically refunding purchases. The game’s current FAQ does not establish equivalent consequences for deleting a PlayStation or Xbox account.
The official transition FAQ currently lists October 30, 2026 as the opt-out deadline and November 10, 2026 as the start of transition maintenance. Because those operational details can change, check the official service-transition announcement before acting.

Which “account deletion” action are you considering?
Throne and Liberty’s service notice concerns moving game data to NC; it is not an instruction to close a Steam, PlayStation Network, or Xbox account. The outcome depends on the account layer and the action you take.

This distinction prevents the most costly mistake: treating an opt-out request as if it were a refund request, or treating a platform-account closure as if it were the game’s migration process.

If you opt out of the NC transfer
The opt-out is a request not to send your Throne and Liberty data from Amazon Games to NC. It does not preserve a duplicate copy of your existing character on NC’s service. The FAQ states that the game account data will not transfer, and gives this direct consequence:
“Your characters, progression, and inventory will not carry over.”
Your next character starts at zero under NC
If you later access the game under NC, you must create or use a fresh game state. The lost transfer covers the practical progress a player normally cares about: the character roster, advancement and inventory. The FAQ does not describe a mechanism for importing selected characters, manually restoring progress, or merging an opted-out account into NC later.

Opting out is not an immediate erasure order
The public FAQ says Amazon Games account data will be handled under its standard retention and deletion policies. It does not publish a retention period, say that all records disappear immediately, or identify a separate button that instantly wipes every Amazon-held record. Therefore, an opt-out should be understood as a transfer decision, not proof of immediate data erasure.
Paid entitlements and refunds are not settled by the FAQ
The transition material does not say that opting out triggers a refund, preserves paid entitlements for a future NC account, or converts purchases into another form of credit. Do not make a purchase decision on the assumption that money will be returned. For an account-specific answer, use the current official support route before the transition; post-transition NC customer-service details are to be announced once confirmed.
If you take no action: the standard migration
The default path is migration. The FAQ states:
“If you take no action during the opt-out window, your game data will be transferred to NC as part of the standard migration.”

What the ordinary transfer includes
For this normal migration, the FAQ identifies characters, inventory, progression and entitlements as transferable. It separately names owned Lucent, Loyalty Points, Sollant and Ornate Coins as remaining usable before and after the transition. That assurance belongs to the ordinary transfer path; it should not be read as a promise for someone who opts out.
Steps required after the service changes
- Allow the game data transfer by taking no opt-out action before the published deadline.
- After the transition, review and accept NC’s Terms and Policies.
- Complete any account-activation steps NC requires before signing in.
- If you play on Xbox, install the NC-published application after the transition.
The FAQ describes existing Steam, PlayStation and Xbox platform accounts as remaining unchanged through the normal transition. “Unchanged” here refers to the platform accounts, not to a guarantee that every sign-in or activation step will be identical.
What deleting a Steam account does
Steam Support treats account deletion as a permanent platform-level action. Its Account Deletion – Common Questions page says deletion permanently removes the account’s game licenses, community profile, gifts, inventory items, wallet funds and other associated information. Steam also says those items will not be recoverable.

Throne and Liberty access is one part of the loss
If your Throne and Liberty entitlement is held on the Steam account you delete, the Steam license disappears with that account. This is broader than declining the game-data transfer: it affects the platform identity and the other Steam properties attached to it, not just the NC migration record.
Deletion does not automatically issue a refund
Steam’s policy is explicit: “Deleting your account will not automatically refund any purchases made on the account.” A refund request, if available, must be evaluated under Steam’s separate refund rules; account deletion itself is not a refund workflow. The statement is a general Steam policy, not a special Throne and Liberty guarantee.

- Confirm whether you are trying to stop the NC transfer or close Steam permanently.
- Review other games, wallet funds, gifts and inventory tied to the Steam account.
- Resolve any support or refund question before deletion, because Steam describes the deleted information as unrecoverable.
- Save records you are legally or practically entitled to retain, such as transaction receipts, without assuming they restore the account.
What is known about PlayStation and Xbox account deletion?
The current Throne and Liberty transition FAQ does not explain what happens if a player deletes a PlayStation Network or Xbox account. It therefore does not establish whether characters, platform licenses, currencies, entitlements or purchases can be recovered, nor does it define a console refund outcome.
The FAQ’s statement that platform accounts remain unchanged applies to the ordinary migration, when the player keeps the platform account. It is not evidence about voluntarily closing that account. Steam’s deletion rule should not be generalized to consoles without a current policy from the relevant platform.
Safe approach for a console player
- Do not delete the console account merely to opt out of NC data transfer; the game FAQ provides a separate opt-out route.
- Record the console network ID and transaction information associated with your game account.
- Ask the relevant platform support team, and the current Throne and Liberty support channel, what deletion would do in your region and edition.
- Wait for a written answer before taking an irreversible platform action.
Important transition dates and platform requirements
The service-transition FAQ, published October 8, 2026, currently gives two operational dates:

A decision checklist before you click anything
Choose the outcome you actually want
- Keep your characters and progression: do not opt out; follow the normal migration and complete NC activation after maintenance.
- Do not let Amazon Games send the data to NC: use the official opt-out process, understanding that a new NC game state would be required later.
- Stop using Steam entirely: investigate Steam’s permanent deletion consequences first; this is not a game-transfer setting.
- Close a console account: obtain platform-specific confirmation because the game FAQ does not define the result.
Questions the published information does not answer
Three issues remain unspecified in the public transition material: how long Amazon Games retains data after an opt-out, whether opted-out paid entitlements receive any refund or other treatment, and what deleting a PlayStation or Xbox account does to Throne and Liberty data and purchases. Treat each as unresolved rather than inferring an answer from Steam’s policy.
Where to get an account-specific answer
Use the current Throne and Liberty support channel linked from the official service-transition information before the opt-out deadline. Include your platform, region, account type and the exact action you are considering. Ask separately about transfer eligibility, entitlements, purchase records and deletion. The FAQ says NC customer-service details for after the transition will be announced once confirmed, so avoid relying on an old contact path after the service changes.
