The clearest reported example is the vertical volume slider: it became native to One UI, while Sound Assistant retained further volume and audio customization.
Is Sound Assistant still part of Good Lock?
Yes. Samsung continues to list Sound Assistant as a Good Lock module, not as a system app that has been fully merged into One UI. Samsung’s 2025 Good Lock feature article describes the module, and Samsung’s Good Lock support page lists its audio controls.

Samsung reported more than 21 million cumulative Sound Assistant downloads in its 2025 article, using download data through early March 2025. That is a download count, not a count of unique users.
Which Sound Assistant features overlap with One UI?
The documented example is the vertical volume slider. Android Central’s September 29, 2025 Good Lock guide reports that the slider became a native One UI feature. It also describes Sound Assistant as retaining extra options, including adjustments to slider placement and layout.

This is selective overlap, not evidence that every Sound Assistant feature moved into One UI. Samsung’s One UI 7 rollout announcement discusses system and interface features, including Audio Eraser, but does not describe Sound Assistant as incorporated wholesale or provide a feature-by-feature migration list. The announcement therefore cannot establish the migration history of every individual control.

- Set volume in 150 detailed levels.
- Allow multiple apps to play audio simultaneously.
- Customize the volume panel’s layout and colour.
- Control playback or media volume with the volume buttons.
- Open favorite media apps quickly.
- Synchronize sound when video plays after a Bluetooth connection.
- Set ringtone or notification vibration patterns.
- Save and share equalizer settings.
Samsung also describes fine volume adjustments in its 2025 feature article: “Sound Assistant allows users to fine-tune volume levels in increments from one to 10, enabling precise control for an optimal listening experience.” This wording describes adjustment increments; the support page separately lists 150 detailed volume levels.

How to check what is available on your Galaxy
There is no reliable universal menu path or feature matrix for every Galaxy phone. Samsung cautions that Good Lock availability can vary by device and software version, and its feature listing is on a regional Samsung India support page. Check your own phone rather than assuming a control is present everywhere.

- Open Good Lock on your Galaxy device and check whether Sound Assistant is available to install or open.
- Open Sound Assistant and look for the specific control you need, such as app-specific volume or volume-panel customization.
- Check your phone’s One UI settings for any corresponding native control. A built-in slider may cover the basic function without offering the same layout or fine-grained customization as Sound Assistant.
- If a feature is missing, check your device’s software version and Good Lock availability for your market; a missing option does not by itself show that Samsung removed the feature from all Galaxy devices.
What changed with One UI 7?
Samsung announced on March 18, 2025 that One UI 7 rollout would start April 7, beginning with the Galaxy S24 series and Galaxy Z Fold6 and Z Flip6, with expansion to additional Galaxy phones and tablets. Samsung said rollout timing and availability could vary by market. Its announcement is rollout context, not a Sound Assistant migration guide.
Samsung’s official material does not provide a complete version-by-version or region-by-region account of which Sound Assistant controls moved into One UI. The supported conclusion is narrower: at least one control, the vertical volume slider, has been reported as native to One UI, while Samsung continues to list Sound Assistant and its additional audio controls as part of Good Lock.
