It depends on the sportsbook’s rules and the type of wager. In the cited DraftKings NFL rules, a player prop is generally void if the player never participates in a play, including a special-teams play. If the player participates and then leaves injured, that alone does not meet the no-participation condition for voiding the prop. FanDuel’s cited New Jersey rules use a similar no-snap threshold for ordinary player props, but include market-specific exceptions. Check the rules that apply to your ticket and jurisdiction.
What if the player never enters the game?
Under DraftKings’ NFL house rules dated May 14, 2024, a player must participate in at least one play for a player prop to have action; special-teams participation counts. If the player is listed as “inactive” or “did not play,” the player market is void. See the DraftKings NFL house rules.

FanDuel’s New Jersey house rules likewise say ordinary player-prop selections are void if the player does not play a snap. That is a state-specific example, not a rule that automatically applies to FanDuel wagers elsewhere. Consult the FanDuel New Jersey house rules and the terms shown for your location.
What if the player takes part, then gets hurt?
If a player meets the sportsbook’s participation requirement and then exits with an injury, the prop may still stand and settle using the result recorded up to that point. DraftKings’ support guidance says bets generally stand when a player starts or meets the playing-time requirements in its house rules. An injury by itself is not the same as the player never participating.

That does not mean every market settles identically. The wager’s wording and the book’s rules determine whether the participation threshold has been met and how the result is calculated.
How injury-status labels relate to settlement
NFL injury designations describe a player’s expected availability; they do not set a sportsbook’s settlement terms. The NFL’s 2016 policy explanation defined “Questionable” as uncertain to play, “Doubtful” as unlikely to participate, and “Out” as the player will not play. Check the NFL’s injury-report policy explanation for that wording. The operator’s rules and the player’s actual participation determine how a wager is treated.

Why the exact market matters
Do not assume a rule for an ordinary player prop covers every wager involving that player. DraftKings and FanDuel set out special treatment for certain markets. Before relying on a general participation rule, identify the market shown on your ticket and look up its specific settlement language.

- First-stat or longest-stat bets: These may have distinct conditions from standard player props.
- Quarter and drive props: The relevant period or drive, and when the wager was placed, can affect settlement.
- Live bets after an injury: FanDuel’s New Jersey rules address post-injury live quarter and drive bets separately.
- Futures and other special markets: These can follow terms that differ from single-game player props.
For example, FanDuel’s cited New Jersey rules separately address an active kicker who records no snap. This is why a broad “player props are void if there is no snap” summary may not resolve an unusual market or player situation. Read the applicable market-specific rule.

Is an early-exit credit the same as a void?
No. DraftKings describes an Early Exit program that may provide cash credits when a bet is significantly affected by a player leaving because of injury and not returning. It is a separate program, subject to eligibility and its terms; it is not an automatic void of the wager. Check the DraftKings Early Exit information for applicable conditions.

How to check your ticket
- Identify the operator and jurisdiction. Use the rules for the state or country where the wager was placed, not a similarly named rules page for another location.
- Read the market name on the ticket. Determine whether it is a standard player prop, a first- or longest-stat wager, a quarter or drive market, a future, or a live bet.
- Find the participation threshold. Check whether the rule requires a snap, any play, or another stated condition, and whether special teams count.
- Check the player’s recorded participation and status. An inactive or did-not-play designation may matter, but the settlement rule controls how that designation is applied.
- Review any separate promotion terms. If the operator advertises injury-related credits, check eligibility rather than assuming the ticket is void.
- Ask the operator about a disputed settlement. Keep the ticket details and refer to the applicable house rule when contacting support.
